They've been okay to us over the years, but we recently switched to a different clinic. Keep in mind, this review is after not having come here for a couple of years, so maybe everything is different. Rosie the helper cat is definitely the best staff member! They have helped us treat some simple things. Though my healthy cat went in for a teeth cleaning once, and ended up having a heart attack and dying two weeks later. Evidently, this happens sometimes, but we were always weirded out by that experience. Though I will admit, they did handle our heart attack very promptly, though the one older lady made us sign in, while a younger lady was already waving us through to a room. However, our main concerns are the vets themselves. Maybe it's better now that the one retired, as I mostly remember an older man doing these things. My one main concern is how they handle cats. They very roughly grab them by the scruff of their neck. I had some very old cats at one point they were doing this to. I remember multiple times telling them to back off, or even pushing their hands away. They always explain that that's the best way to handle a cat. After being with another vet, we know you don't have to grab a cat like that, or at least not that hard; in fact, the new vet told us that was very ill patient treatment, to grab them so roughly, especially an older cat like mine. The other is complete lack of sympathy. They don't seem to really give a care about animals at all. Again, this might be the same older vet who retired. And maybe over the years, it's easy to get hardened to sick animals. But when my boy had his heart attack, he died. The vet could not have cared less. In fact, as I was bawling hysterically over losing him, the vet just kept saying in a chipper voice, "Don't worry, we'll get your kitty cremated. That sounds good, right?" Maybe he was attempting comfort, but I just remember wanting to deck him. So maybe it's better now that he's gone? I'll probably never find out. But seriously, they weren't all bad with minor things, and did correctly diagnose our cats multiple times. They also take walk-ins, which is super helpful if you have impromptu things come up.
