This was my first and last time visiting this Veterinary Clinic. I got to my appointment 10 mins early to fill out paper work, I was taken to a room where I sat for 15 min, the Dr came in listened to my dogs heart and said she is fine. Dr was in the room less than 3 mins, I then waited an additional 15 mins and finally went to the fro t desk. Where They attempted to bill me for an x-ray that didn’t happen and gave me medicine with another dogs information. I definitely would not take my animal back to this place! Read Less

Had been bringing our cat here for a few years and had recently started taking our new dog here. Our cat was having issues and they'd asked for a stool sample. My boyfriend and I were in a rush trying to leave and he must not have grabbed the perfect sample because we could hear the staff talking and giggling about it and us outside of the door to our exam room. My mother took her dog here to get put to sleep. After taking her dog into the back room, they proceeded to shave her leg to give her an IV. (First I've ever heard giving a dog an IV to euthanize). Well, they took her back into a room with another bigger dog and that made my mothers nervous. Instead of taking her into another room or giving her something for anxiety they continued to try and get this IV in while she is shaking and pulling away. After 25 minutes, and a whole lot of shaking and crying along with blood all over her dog, they finally bring her back out. They take my mother back with her dog only to then give her something for anxiety and pain. (Little late). Long story short, she took her dog her to be tortured for 25 minutes, and then put to sleep. We've been bringing our dogs to Meridian Vet for almost 15 years. Up until a year ago I would of given them 5 stars. Professionally, they're very good and know their stuff. Unfortunately I think they're trying to grow too quickly. In the past they were always willing to accommodate unexpected minor emergencies that needed an appointment at the last minute (cuts, sprains, tick bites etc). Things that aren't serious enough for a trip to the emergency vet, but also things that can't wait 3-4 days. For more than the last year, any time we've called for a minor emergency we've been told they're short handed and the earliest appointment available is 3-4 days away. This morning was the 4th time in about 18 months that we've needed to schedule one of our dogs with a different clinic because they're "short handed". I recently moved to the area and decided to try this place out after seeing the positive reviews. My dog is a rescue dog and her behavior can be pretty unpredictable. She is absolutely terrified of any vet office. There are also some people that she just does not like and usually scares by barking or growling. Meridian did a great job dealing with this behavior! The vet and vet tech did a great job administering her shots and trimming her nails. They had a good hold on her the entire time and my dog never even snapped or bit. They were also helpful about answering our questions. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I don't think they were as friendly as I expected. Maybe because they were pretty busy during our appointment time, but neither the front desk area or  vet were as welcoming as I expected. They definitely were not rude or anything like that, but I guess as a first time client I expected more of a welcoming introduction. This isn't a make or break problem though. Disappointed. I came here because of all the positive reviews on Google. I was disappointed and will not return. From the moment I walked into the door I felt very unwelcome by the reception staff and like I was a number...although I was the only one in the waiting room. Staff at reception was very abrupt, unfriendly and rude. I felt rushed during the entire time with the vet and the staff as if they were in a HUGE hurry and again, like I was a number. The vet cut too deeply on one of my dog€s nails during his nail clipping and made my dog€s paw bleed. As a result, my dog started screaming so I made the vet quit. The vet acted like it was no big deal, but when you make my dog bleed and scream, I will be VERY upset. The only positive thing about coming here was that the assistant was very nice and gentle with my dog-- and the vet was also gentle with everything except the clipped nails. I will not return. I was hoping for a friendly place where I felt welcomed and not rushed to get in and out. At this place the reception staff was rude, my poor little dog had a bleeding paw and I felt rushed .....even though I was the only one in the waiting room at the time. Amazing service, low wait times, high availability, and great price. I was recommended to come to this clinic by my insurance company because I had not taken my cat to the vet in several years. I called and they quoted me at a great price, so I set an appointment. However, upon finishing my appointment, the price was half of what they quoted me on! This is because upon arrival, the diagnosis did not include everything from the quote since it was unnecessary to have done. They gave only exactly what my cat needed, which were a few shots and a quick checkup, and nothing else. That being said, if I had wanted to get some extra examinations done, they would have been more than happy to do so. Otherwise, the staff was extremely friendly and handled my cat exceptionally well. Dr. Spencer is the best hands down. After moving to Indy 7 years ago we have used 2 Vets, one was named after a man who built a ship, they seemed to always want to UP sell you no matter why you had your pet in their offices. I picked this place based upon Yelp and Google reviews, and after two (2) visits I am a believer. These folks (from front desk, to techs to Vets) are the real deal. They are helpful, friendly, and efficiently thorough (with my pet and with me)...They obviously love animals, and know how to communicate effectively and efficiently.It is very pleasant and clean facility. My 12 year old Sheltie mix was in need of a dental cleaning. My current vet quoted me a potential cost of $350 to as much as $700. Since that seemed outrageous, I was shopping around at other offices when I came upon Meridian's website. I used their site to inquire about costs and had an answer of approximately $325.00 by the next morning. None of the other vets I contacted had answered as promptly. I looked at some reviews and the photo tour they had online and decided to give them a try. The day of the cleaning, I was nervous about my dog's age and familiarity with the clinic, but everything went great. The girl upfront took good care of him, even picking him up to take him back instead of pulling his leash. They were done exactly when they said they would be and even let him come home early. I was given clear instructions and when they brought him out, again they carried him gently and fussed over how well he did. Not only that, but the cost was even lower than their quote by $100. I inherited a ten year old Yorkie recently, I took my yorkie in today for some bladder issues, found out on top of a uti he has diabetes. Everyone working was friendly and helpful and I'm glad I found such a great clinic on my first try. Just picked my precious baby up from a dental cleaning here and so far very happy. I will be honest... I picked this place based on reviews and prices. A co worker has also been coming here for 8+ years and loves all the dr's here. This was my first visit so I can't review the doctors yet cause I never saw one. I dropped my dog off early this morning at 7am and picked her up at 1:30. The young girls in the office were sweet and friendly and made me feel like she was in good hands. When I picked her up, she was alert and spunky... She's now sleeping again after getting home... But it makes me feel like she wasnt given to much anesthesia. Another thing I liked were the prices. I'm tired of being nickeled and dimed by vets. The dental cleaning, vaccines, and heartworm tests all came to a total of $235. Surrounding vets were estimating $190 just for dental cleaning alone! No extractions were required with her so I don't know for sure cost on that. One other thing...My dog is a Boston Terrier. I was very worried about doing this with her being a short muzzle breed. It really seems like she did great and I have a lot of confidence in them now. However, all in all, I feel good about recommending this vet to others.  I think I have finally found the official veterinarian for my babies :) I will def be back!! Read Less

I've been taking my dogs to Meridian Vet Clinic since I moved to Indianapolis 20 years ago.  They've taken very good care of 3 dogs of mine over that time.  I tried other vet clinics briefly, but always returned to using them even when I was living in Broad Ripple. I love the feel of this clinic. Not "corporate", more like a small-town clinic.I used to exclusively see Dr. Sheff, but when he cut back his hours there, I would just see whomever was available. It is so nice to know that you can easily and quickly make an appointment and be confident with having ANY of their 5 doctors treating your pet. I've used them for everything from annual checkups, spaying, surgery, acute conditions, chronic pain, allergies, care of a debilitating disease in one of my pets, and a euthanasia. They are very professional, knowledgable, straightforward, explain things well (good news and bad), don't push products they sell, and are priced very reasonably.  Dr Haviland has put together a good team at MVC.  I'm glad I live close by now! I can't say enough about how great Meridian Vet Clinic is. Dr. Udrasols was my vet for two years. He was incredibly compassionate during a heart worm issue with my dog. He only recommended what was needed and always made sure to explain everything he did. All the vet techs were always very friendly and attentive.
