My parakeet had been injured by my cats, so I had to take him here to be evaluated. His wound, we were told, was too large to heal and needed surgery or else survival chances were low. We asked if there were any other options and they said nothing besides putting him to sleep. It took me a while to decide but I felt it was worth it to try the surgery for him. We tried, and initially it was successful. However, he still had not healed, but we were already in debt paying surgery fees & treatment expenses. On a limb, we decided to let him board for the week because we were going on vacation. After pouring 1,000+ into him already, they tell us he's doing well and then give us a call and tell us the surgery needs to be redone. This was way to expensive for us, which had been clear the time we walked in the door. We decided to tell the lady we have to unfortunately put him down due to cost. After being told on multiple accounts we either had to put him down or do the surgery, when we finally decided to put him down, they informed us that there was a $60 alternate option to donate him to a nonprofit foundation that would cover all of his medical expenses and rehome him. So, of course, we went with this option, only after being misled the whole course just so they could make a profit. This place had a generally good atmosphere, but a lack of customer respect and a lot of misinformation overrides my whole experience. Always ask questions because it could save you a thousand dollars. I ended up paying a fortune for a bird I wasn't even allowed to keep, when I could've paid $60 and ended up the same. Read Less
