The most caring group of veterinarians. BRAC went above and beyond for us and our dog from the time we moved to Indy until the day our pup passed away. When he had to undergo a few major surgeries, the whole team did everything in their power to make sure both me and my dog were as comfortable as possible with the process. They even sent a hand-written note when we had to say goodbye. They are so compassionate, while also maintaining their professionalism. Best vet ever. They have always been so helpful with my dogs Sissy and Mimi. I never have issues getting an appointment even if it’s last minute. They treat my doggies like family. My cat had a minor health issue and it was easy to schedule an appointment as a new client. We had a short wait in the waiting room, and the vet we were seeing was running a bit behind, so another little wait in the exam room. I agree that the services are a bit more expensive but they do go above and beyond. My cat was so nervous and Dr Rice did everything possible to calm him. She sprayed a calming scent, brought out treats and toys and even made a blanket fort. Orlando had an accident in transit and they cleaned the carrier and him. While I was not the one to take my little nugget to his appointment, I did do the scheduling and spoke with the office regarding his meds which was wonderful customer service. The appointment was at 7pm with Dr. Murphy (who I was told was so sweet to my anxious boy). They provided my pup a free consult and the price overall was surprisingly inexpensive for the quality of care they staff provided (per my boyfriend who took my pup in). They were so prompt with filling his required prescriptions, gave treatment recommendations that really work, and were overall so kind to my anxious baby. The staff gave our cat, Sampson, the absolute best care in the 2 yrs he'd been going there. He was a senior citizen when he started going here. When terminal illness was found, the staff could not have been better in delivering the news and the treatments that the situation required. Just sitting here looking at all these rave reviews, wondering why Dr. Barr continues to fail to return my e-mails and phone calls regarding how to proceed after my pet's ultrasound. It's been a rough road with him and I was so happy when I thought I had found an office who would help me get him straightened out. I was happy to spend the extra money for the best care possible. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the doctors are personable and truly care about the patients. We have one high-anxiety dog, and although he hates coming to the vet, we know that he'll be handled well and that his attitude toward doc's visits won't affect the level of care he receives. I have taken all of my beloved pets to BRAC. I love the staff, they are so wonderful! We see Dr. Rice, unfortunately she has been with us through the illness and loss of two of our babies, and there is no other vet that I'd want to share that experience with. This place is a joke, I was recommend by a friend and I am so sorry but if you want to throw your money away be my guest. First time I went in for shot and even though my puppy already got a first shot and still recommend to do it over. I didn't make any complaint and just went with it. By the time checked out, they over charged $30 and I have called back to have it adjusted. I guess they just make mistake so I still make another appointment for 2nd time and asked them to email me the cost for second visit. At the 2nd visit, I asked how much for my second visit will be and they tried to over charge me again. I have to ask them to break down the cost and finally come to the correct number. also they want to charge me extremely high amount for medicine dispense. I was not happy but I just want to get my puppy take care and I guess I made a big mistake by came back on the 3rd time. my puppy got sick after the last booster shot. I have to bring back my puppy in less than 48 hrs and was told she picked up a kennel cough and they tried to tell me it was from another dog or day care which my puppy never went to day care or contacted with other dog. she is the only puppy in the house. obviously she picked up from the vet location. they want to charge me another $56 to looked at my puppy which I already paid less than 48hrs. I told myself since I am already here let get her check out so I went with it. I asked to have manager call me back and she told me that is how the clinic operate. strictly business as I can see, no mercy. I will never come back here again and I highly recommend if you go there make sure you price check before you pay for anything. Dr. Cruse is great. Very knowledgeable, and personable. My dog Mia loves going there. Dr. Cruse makes personal calls and keeps you informed throughout the process. The cost is a little pricey, but the quality of care is unmatched. Also they give cute bandanas to your pet. Number one place to go in my book. Gizmo, my dog-child, has been seeing Dr. Rice at BRAC since he was a puppy. Even when I moved out-of-state, we continued to come to BRAC because of how well they've always treated us. Weather a request for records or just popping in to say hello and grab Gizmo's weight, the team at BRAC has always been incredibly kind and welcoming. Today, Gizmo was hit by a car...pretty much as scary as you can imagine. We rushed to BRAC and Dr. Rice, Misha & team immediately stopped what they were doing to help my babe. They assisted us this afternoon with euthanizing our 12 year old hound dog, Chapman. It was not quite an emergency situation but it was also not something that could be put off. They made an appointment for us so we could bypass the waiting room, and were compassionate and kind and wonderful. The techs were gentle and caring and the vet who handled the actual procedure was amazing. They let him stay on my lap while it was taken care of.Read Less

You're lucky if you can get out of a routine appointment with a bill of less than $300. Everything costs about twice as much as it does elsewhere. They did a $40 "culture" on my dog's earwax (they just looked at it under a microscope, it took 2 minutes) without telling me that it would cost anything extra beforehand, and then they charged me $90 for the ointment to treat his ear infection. I found exact same ear ointment at petsmart for $44 dollars (same brand, same strength,... same size bottle). Incidentally, this ointment treats both yeast and bacterial infections, so we didn't actually need a culture. My dog has had an ear infection before, and his previous vet didn't need to culture it to diagnose or treat it. And my previous vet charged me less than half of what broad ripple animal clinic did for the ointment. They charged me $90 for an ear ointment that actually costs $44 dollars. I mentioned that the cost seemed high, and they said that the manufacturer sets the price, which was just a lie. Found the EXACT same product for $44.09. They also did an ear wax "culture" without telling me that it cost another $40. (They look under the microscope to see what kind of infection he had. This is the first review I've ever written in my 53 years. That is how great my experience was today at this clinic. Long story short, the vet we saw for our dog, Katlyn Barr, finally gave us answers as to what was wrong, along with a treatment plan that worked for us. She explained everything and her assistant, who I'm so sorry I don't remember her name (long dark hair), was so well informed and just wonderful. She spent so much time with us and was so pleasant. I've  NEVER been so happy with the level of knowledge, the welcoming atmosphere, and treatment. These people have had customer service training and implement it from the start with free first visit coupon on their website and offering beverages when we walked in door, to the end... walking us to the door and opening it. But in between was what was amazing. With an antibiotic and short treatment, our little Reggie is going to get better, and I didn't have to break the bank!  What a team! Thank you so much!!! We have moved out of the Broadripple area to Fishers, but we keep coming back to BRAC as we have been pleased with the care and feel so comfortable.  Starting when you first walk in, BRAC is very cozy and clean.  They have human and dog snacks available (soda/coffee vs. treats).This might be a bad dog-mom move, but I seem to be only taking Oliver to the vet when he has a problem.  Fortunately, those seem to come at least frequently enough for him to get all his necessary check-ups and vaccinations.  We have been to BRAC for a nuisance (itchy foot he wouldn't stop licking) and recently, a more emergent issue.  After 2-days of a lethargic dog, we had an appointment at BRAC the next afternoon.  We were so worried about his continually worsening state, we called the on-call tech (so nice to have this available), and she really talked me down, made me feel more comfortable for the night, and bumped my appointment up to first thing the next day.  After Dr. Rice's assessment and treatment, Oliver is perking up daily and mostly back to his ornery self.  I have to say, I was also very impressed and comforted by the tech who helped us this round, Misha.  She spent extra time walking with us on the way out to try to get a urine sample and almost teared up seeing the pitiful state my little dude was in.  It really showed how much the staff cares about your dog and their well being.  Another positive- BRAC always lays out the cost with you point by point before they do anything, and they try to offer you varying packages if you want to forego some testing/treatment options if you're on a budget. We have taken our dog to Dr Murphy for years and are very happy. This week we had a dinner guest who brought along his sweet 4 month old puppy. Unfortunately he ate a fairly large toy that belonged to our dog. I called the office immediately  took the dog to the Clinic. It was in the evening and they were busy however, we were treated as if we were the only clients at the office.  The treatment plan was well thought out and communicated to our group. Unfortunately, he required endoscopy the next day to remove the "squirrel" toy. Dr. Murphy and Dr Neuman were great. Our puppy friend is safely back with his owner. I used to give glowing recommendations of this place, but after our latest experience, I no longer can. Our cat has had a history of a particular infection. After displaying the behaviors that accompany the infection, we brought her in for evaluation (probably the third or fourth time doing so). We told the veterinarian that she has had a history of this issue and that we suspected that it was the cause of her behavior. After examining, the veterinarian made it seem that the issue was much more serious, suggesting both x-rays and blood work, totaling $600. We decided to go with x-rays and medication and while the medication temporarily relieved the pain our cat was experiencing, it later returned over a holiday weekend. We had to take her to an emergency clinic considering Broad Ripple Animal Clinic was closed for the next two days. Upon evaluation, the emergency clinic was shocked that the veterinarian completely missed that our cat had the particular infection and suggested x-rays and blood work to be done. I asked if this was 100% the source of the pain our cat was experiencing and they said "yes, there is no doubt". They said her infection was so inflamed that there was no missing it. Both my wife and I complained to Broad Ripple Animal Clinic, but got talked down to. We ended up paying about $600 total for what should have been an easily diagnosable infection that our cat had been seen repeatedly before. I am sure that most people will have pleasant experiences here, but this last experience for us has made us a customer that will not return. Read Less

We couldn't figure out what was wrong with my cat and Dr. Rudwell did everything to try and figure it out. I felt completely confident in them making decisions and they notified me every step of the way regarding my cats care. We brought our two cats in here recently and what a great place this is! I wish we would have discovered it sooner. The facility is very clean, staff is very friendly, they even have refreshments in the lobby. The cat exam room is only for cats and they have a plugin with those cat chill out pheromones. We have used this vet for our dogs and have been very disappointed with the service.   Our dog was treated for an ear infection that did not resolve despite over $1500 in treatments without an end in sight. We took her to different vet only to find that she had been on the wrong antibiotic all along and had a cure for under $100 which included a preventative that has taken care of the issue long term.  The office is nice and all of the staff is delightful but I feel that the service is expensive and leans towards surgery and intervention.  Our other dog had a bowel obstruction that they recommended surgery on.  We took her for a second opinion only to find no surgery necessary.  We won't be back. We couldn't be happier with Dr. Rice and the staff at BRAC! (Love us some Katie girl!!!) they took on a beyond tricky condition with our 11 year old lab and a 12 (yes I said TWELVE) pound tumor which several Vets wouldn't touch!!! After adopting a puppy on short notice, we took him to BRAC and Dr. Rice for some examination, vaccination, and advice. Dr. Rice rocks. She loves the animals, treats them like gold, and was an unbelievable resource for two new puppy-parents. She's even answered emails from us seeking advice or clarification on issues. The entire staff is wonderful and caring and welcoming. It's a great welcoming space and doesn't feel like a sterile, industrial space. While this is a more expensive vet, it is so worth it if you have the money. The vets and the staff are beyond friendly; they remember pet owners from visit to visit, offer you free drinks while you wait, and are so loving towards the critters. Instead of trying to handle your pet in a crowded room of other animals, they get you into an exam room as quickly as possible so you and your little guy can wait away from any stress. They also check you out in the exam room so you don't have to try and manage your wallet at the same time. They send you text updates if your pet is having surgery. I just took my cat here for the first time. I had a great experience. It was so easy to set up an appointment, the hours are amazing, and I can do everyone online or over the phone. The facility was very clean. The staff was incredibly friendly. All of my questions were answered and I felt heard in the conversations. I haven't been to other places, so I can't say too much about pricing, but I paid $90 and thought that it was worth it. If that is a little more expensive, the ease of getting an appointment for 7:30pm made it worth it. In my opinion, it is a great clinic and I will be back! Read Less

I am starting to see a pattern with several of these reviews (the two star ones). Just a few days ago, My wife and I rushed my dog Duke to the Broad Ripple animal clinic. For several days he had been vomiting constantly and had lost quite a bit of weight. After an x - ray, we were told that my dog MIGHT have pancreatitis. However due to the OUTRAGIOUS charges totaling over 600.00 we were only allotted anti nausea medication and fluids, and charged @ 350.00 just for those services, not having the available finances to able to afford what was being asked in order for the vet to offer any additional assistance to find what was truly wrong with him. This so called anti nausea medication was supposed to keep him from vomiting, but would not, according to the vet herself, "fix the problem." So we ended up leaving the vet office just as ignorant as to what was wrong with him as we were before we got there. So we ended up having to take him home to watch him suffer. We came to the realization that we had to have him put down. We had made arrangements to have friend take us to Animal Care and Control the next day. By morning, his condition had gotten even worse, having lost control of his faculties, waking to find him laying on my kitchen floor, laying in his own urine and feces, unable to stand on his own. He died before we could even get him somewhere to ease his pain. It seems to me that the primary purpose of a vet is to help animals, not just stabilize them or any real help. They charge way to much and have no real compassion for the animals they serve, money their main priority. Surely there should be some programs or plans available to help people who cannot afford your outrageous fees (including a "second eye fee ). I understand that it is a business and that do have to charge something, but what infuriates me is my dogs condition may have been curable, but due to this vets refusal to offer any additional assistance, other than stabilizing him, my dog had to suffer and die. I wasn't asking for it to be free, just offer some type of payment arrangement. Her refusal to do that, in addition to the way overpriced charges just reinforces my belief that compensation will always take priority over the well being and sanctity of the lives of the pets that are seen at this clinic. Everyone was very friendly, however, the reason for the one star review was because the male veterinarian suckered me into getting my cat a $300 blood test on a very flimsy premise for a healthy young cat. Looking back on it I should've objected right away but when you're in an office setting and he displays concern for your pet, you tend to go along with what he's saying. I had a very bad experience with my first vet. They missed a huge murmur in one of my dogs heart that should have never been missed. He was born with it and it is a grade 5/6. If I can find it as a nurse, then it shouldn't have been missed by a vet. I started coming to BRAC based on recommendations and we LOVE Dr. Barr. She is so good and thorough with our two labradoodles and she makes me feel so comfortable. I would always say I only wanted to see her in the practice because she knows my dogs and especially with a bad experience I was scared. Well let me tell you...after my other doodle ate two non-food items and had to have them surgically removed we have now met 4 other vets in the practice because Dr. Barr was out of the office. They were amazing as well! So thorough, answered all my questions and took great care of my chocolate doodle boy! You guys are the VERY best and I will always recommend you!! Let me start by saying I have been loyal to my vet for 8 years. It would take a lot to get me to make a switch and BRAC impressed me from the minute I had to make the stressful call to the clinic. My dog was attacked midday on a Saturday and had a 1 inch laceration that needed stitches. My normal vet was closed. I called BRAC to see if they could see my dog and they talked me through first aid, were knowledgeable and calming, and made sure I knew pricing and what to expect. They fit me in within an hour. When I walked in, they knew who I was, greeted my dog and everyone was genuinely friendly and warm. They walked us through options for the procedure and pricing and really took the time to acquaint themselves with us and our wounded furbaby. Dr. Barr called with an update once she was out of surgery and they gave her a free nail trim while she was under. Overall, BRAC has all of the special touches to assure pet owners they are getting the best care for their furry loved ones. We will be taking all of our pets there from now on. I've been to several different vets over the years, but BRAC is definitely the best I've experienced. I've had two different cats have surgery there, my 1 year old dog is treated there, and, unfortunately, I had to say goodbye to my very first cat there. I've had a very positive experience working with Dr. Barr at BRAC. She is a very kind and compassionate veterinarian, and I could tell from my interactions with her that she truly cares about the animals that come into BRAC. We took our Freddie-cat here after a concerning bump appeared on her nose that was growing in size. We appreciated that they were honest with us that they weren't 100% sure what it was without doing a biopsy, but they did not go straight to recommending a biopsy without trying other options first. They started with the most affordable options, which were topical creams and shots to see if those help reduce the size of the bump. After she did not respond to any of those treatments, they recommended doing a biopsy of the bump to identify what it was. We were relieved to find out that it was nothing serious (it was not cancerous) and they actually recommended leaving it alone, as it would be very invasive to have it removed. We also had her shots updated there, as well as a microchip, so if she ever rebels during her teenage years and runs away from home, we can find her.I highly recommend BRAC to anyone who has a furry friend in need of medical care. We have another cat, Leroy, that we adopted from FACE that we will be bringing here for medical care as needed in the future! Read Less

We took our Paisley to BRAC today for the first time. We were referred by a good friend and they thoroughly lived up to her recommendation! Judy was amazing with our very nervous, rescue girl and Dr. Barr was just so friendly and caring! I've had other dogs in the past and this is the first time I've ever seen a vet get down on the floor with my dog! They took the time to explain all of their recommendations and the associated costs before giving any vaccines. You absolutely get what you pay for and more from Broad Ripple Animal Clinic. So, my personal story... My cat got very sick suddenly on a weekend following a three month battle with cancer, and this veterinary service was the only one that my girlfriend and I found that was open on Saturday. I had not previously been here. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful regarding the difficult decision I had to make. The vet even cried along with me. About a week later, I received an unexpected condolences card in the mail along with a plaster heart imprinted with my cat's name and her paw print. A wonderful touch, and a relic to her memory that I never would have thought to pursue on my own. Based upon this experience, I would recommend this clinic wholeheartedly, and would be happy to see more of them if and when I have another pet. Read Less

Dr. Neumann and his staff have been seeing my cats since I moved to Indianapolis in 2004. They are kind and compassionate even to the most unruly of pets (which I have). Darice and Emily remember my pets and are always so sweet to make my visits more about just a "check-up". So thankful for this clinic and would never take my fur babies anywhere else! Read Less

Everything about this place is fantastic! The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I wish I had known about this years ago. I never would have taken my pets anywhere else. When I went here it was for a friend's pets. I remember one time my friend's mother took one of her many pets to get examined and the rest of the staff showed us around the place. We were in the back when a duck waddled in. My friend and I were very confused, but as it turns out one of the vets had ended up adopting a duck she had helped recover from a broken leg. The duck was super friendly and we got to pet it. Definitely one of my favorite memories. If I ever move back to Indy, this will be the only vet I ever go to. Read Less
