Eastwood is an old fashioned vet clinic. Dr Doyle has been in practice since the mid 1960's. With that being said he keeps up with changes in the medicine and technology. I'm on my third dog with Dr. Doyle, so I've known him long enough to know he is one of the few vets around that has truly seen it all. You can count on him to give you the straight "poop" on just about everything, and he has stories of just about everything you could hope or want to imagine. He could have retired years ago, so you know that he's not in it for the money. Any aspiring young vet would be wise to get to know him, because he could use a good apprentice to transfer his wealth of knowledge to. Such a person would be in a good position to carry on his legacy for when he is forced into retirement. If you go see him, be warned that you may get treated to his famous "Stink Finger." If your pet has anything stinky going on with it, Dr. Doyle will likely get a finger full of the offending smegma. It is not uncommon for him to share this with you, up close and personal, with his Stink Finger up and in near proximity to your nose. Thusly, you can confirm the foul aroma wafting from his finger is actually the one you'd rather not know about. To some people he comes off as dry and grumpy. Don't be fooled by this, because this is just part of his persona. He actually is testing your resolve and worthiness to be a good pet owner. And you have to be sharp to catch his somewhat different sense of humor. Bonus points are given if you can make him laugh. When he tells you to bring in your dog's poop, you better do it. Dr. Doyle is by far the best vet around ! Yes the furniture looks to be straight out of the 70s but my dogs don't care. Reasonable prices and not all that unnecessary testing like other vets. This place seems like it's out dated, but Dr Dolye is fantastic and the prices are very reasonable. If you don't need a test, he will tell you. He's dramatically cheaper than every other vet I've been to in the city and the ladies at the front desk are really nice. I've been coming here off and on since i was 5 with my first dog. We have been taking our pets (4 cats and 1 dog) to him over the last 20+ years! Dr. Doyle is very knowledgable and good with animals. He explains everything clearly and in as much detail as you want. Dr. Doyle correctly diagnosed a very rare disease in one of our cats and helped him beat life expectation by a year When we finally had to put him down, Dr. Doyle was very compassionate. My family and I have taken our dogs to numerous vets in the Indianapolis area and were never really satisfied. When I got a puppy of my own, I asked around for some recommendations. I was referred to Dr. Doyle, and thought I would give it a try since this clinic is super close to my parents house! My family and I couldn't be happier. Dr. Doyle will not sugar coat anything for you, and will tell you exactly the way it is, which is very much appreciated in our family. I understand that a lot of people may not like this, but I would rather have the truth than someone try and beat it around the bush. We had 2 older dogs, and when our Golden Retriever was getting really awful hotspots he told us that they probably wouldn't heal, but he gave us medication that would at least make her feel better. He is not there to socialize and won't chit chat with you, which makes me think that he is truly there for the animals and not to satisfy the owners and tell them what they want to hear.
