I drive 25 minutes to Dr Keifer and have for years. My sweet Bailey treated wth him for almost 15 years. His staff remembered my twin boys and would ask every time, and they were all aware, humored and patient with my separation anxiety filled sweet Bailey. Dr Keifer hugged me and gave me as much time as I needed with Bailey the day he passed. Honestly will never forget the genuine kindness and humanity. Bailey left a hole in our lives for sure. I didn't hesitate to introduce Dr K to our new pup Sissy when she came home. There are at least 3 vets offices within 5 minutes of my house. It's not even worth it to go I love this clinic to much. I took my dog here for the first time ever this past month because my regular vet completely misdiagnosed her limping leg (and gouged me for unnecessary tests), and will absolutely keep coming back! The staff were so nice and friendly and Dr. Kiefer was extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. He treated my dog's limping right away and now she's back to her normal self. Had to take one of my feral cats he had a bladder infection and was about to pop. Dr Kiefer was about 20 minutes before he was leaving but the amazing Doctor he is he stayed to help my cat. Needless to say two days later my feral cat is now an indoor cat because he's on special food so this doesn't happen to him again. We have always taken our cats and dogs to him he is very caring to our pets. Everyone who works there is very friendly and knows what they're doing. Read Less

Wonderful! Dr. Kiefer is so caring, calm, and compassionate. I also feel he is very reasonably priced. All of my furry grandkids and my sisters animals go to him. Wouldn't take them anywhere else. We adopted our dog from a shelter and when we got him he was very skinny. Dr. Kiefer was very helpful with tips on how to help him with his weight and overall care. We loved that we could take our dog in for his routine vet visits AND a hair cut. We unfortunately stopped coming here because we moved closer to downtown and it was too far of a drive. Our dog doesn't do well with our new vet and the last groomer we tried sheered him like a sheep. Miss coming here! Read Less

My sister and I just LOVE Dr. Kiefer!!! From the first cat when I was sixteen and throughout the numerous pets ever since, Doc has treated our babies with the utmost patience, care and concern. Even through financial problems, he has always worked with me to give my babies the best care. He has the gentlest voice easing my babies' fears and settling them during the examination, but he also settles my nerves as well. He has the greatest patience and his compassion is beyond belief. I've had to put several pets down over the years. He is upfront but very considerate of your feelings. My fur babies are my kids,. Doc is very considerate and compassionate.  What vet sends a note to you after you've had put your pet down saying they donated to the Purdue Veterinary Medicine in your pet's name?And his staff, well, they are great too! Margie, Cathy and Tenel  are the added addition that makes the office comfortable for us humans.Oh and the pet store next door. Why go all the way out to Petsmart? When I need a new toy I go there. Love this place! The doctor is so gentle with my yorkie shitzu mix, my pup was at ease when I brought her in to get her teeth cleaned. I also use the groomer, she is fantastic as well. I love the warm welcome I receive at the front desk and how they welcome my pup with open arms. The kitties that hangout all over the office are just icing on the cake, adorable! I had no idea what a neighborhood treasure we had in Dr. Kiefer and the great staff at Georgetown Animal Hospital until recently. We had been driving a great distance to take Princess to her original vet in the suburbs, only to have that vet completely mis-diagnose her aggressive cancer as an infected gland. By the time we obtained a second opinion from Dr. Kiefer 2 weeks later, it was too late to intervene and the cancer was terminal. Dr. Kiefer gave us care and feeding instructions that allowed us to enjoy the maximum remaining time possible with Princess, and then was compassionate in the way he handled our visit when it was time to say our final goodbye to Princess. His staff was unfailingly caring and professional whenever we came in to get the food Dr. Kiefer prescribed for Princess. Also, I love that they work so hard to find homes for abandoned kitties, as Princess and her littermates started life as abandoned strays. While we aren't quite ready yet, it is a given fact that our next furbaby will be seeing Dr. Kiefer on a regular basis. Read Less

We have been taking our fur baby to Dr. Kiefer for almost 2 years now and we love this practice.  The staff are always very friendly and accomodating.  Dr. Kiefer is a pitbull lover, so he is perfect to care of our little monster (I say 'monster' in the most loving way possible).  We can always get an appointment as soon as we need one, even same day if necessary, and never feel like we are being rushed through our appointment.  It is obvious that Dr. Kiefer loves his work and that makes me feel very comfortable entrusting my dog's health to him.  Highly recommend this clinic for your veterinary needs!  And the shop next door is great for treats, food, and accessories! Candy and I have been taking our animals to Frank and co. for many years. All of our pets have received loving care and treatment. Dr. Frank Kiefer is a very good friend of the family and has been for 22 years. This would be one of the reasons that we know we can always trust him to take the best care of any of our animals. The staff he's got working with him are awesome! Margie, Cathy and Tenel, are all extremely helpful to all of their clients and I know personally that they take exceptional care of each and every animal that walks thought their doors every day. A lot of people aren't aware of how many lives that are saved by this hospital on a daily basis. Margie is always finding stray dogs and cats and bringing them into the vet so they can be fixed up and they stay their until they find a new home. People are forever dumping litters of kittens on their doorsteps almost on a weekly basis. They keep the kittens, get them all their vaccines, spay/neuter them, and they also stay until their new family comes to find them. Another way that lives are saves, and I have seen this first hand now, is when people bring their pets in and demand they be put to sleep because they don't want them anymore, and for no other reason than that. They aren't sick, injured, or ill, they just don't want they animal for whatever reason. Kiefer will flat out say NO, and tell them he will keep their animal and find a responsible and loving owner for them. He will never euthanize an animal unless it is absolutely necessary. Kiefer is also a big Pit Bull advocate. He used to own one of his own, that he loved dearly. He loves my own little pittie Novy, and he's taken wonderful care of both of my sister's pit bulls that I've taken in to him when they've needed vaccines or when they have been ill. He would never adopt out any of the stray pit bulls, the ones he saves, takes care of and loves, to anyone that he thought would potentially abuse or fight the dog. I would highly recommend Frank to anyone and everyone because of how great he actually get to know people and their animals on personal level, which makes for better trips to the vet. Several friends have taken their animals there after ineffective care at other facilities and the problems were taken care of quickly.
