Today was our kitty Mochi's first checkup since we adopted him. I had heard good things about Michigan Road Animal Hospital, but hadn't had the chance to check it out myself until today. My husband and I were very happy with the visit and thankful to all the wonderful staff for their gentleness and kindness towards us and our little furball xD. Very clean and calm environment. They are the best, really care about the pets and parents. They didn't complain when I called 500 times to check on my kitty when he needed to stay overnight. They loved on my sweet rescue dog. I was really worried about her positive test for heart worms when I had her spayed at the low cost clinic. But after talking to the staff and doctor I am confident that she will pull through with their careful attention to detail, patience, and love of animals. I had a few friends recommend Dr. Hurd when I was looking a vet for my cat, and I am so happy that I took their suggestion. We now take all of our animals there. The facilities are nice and the staff is incredible. Someone even called after one of our dogs got stitches to see how she was doing. I can't recommend them highly enough.

VERY dissapointed! I have been with this vet for 3 years with all three of my dogs and have spent A LOT of money here. I went in today for my appointment with my rottweiler for his shots and they put us in a room with a muzzle & told me if I couldn't muzzle him they refused to see him. NO ONE offered to help muzzle considering he is 150lbs & the vet technician was too scared to come in the room. What a joke, my dog is a big love bug & had never had to be muzzled before this incident. I am switching vets & wouldn't recommend this place to anyone with a big dog

Dr. Jacobs at the Michigan Rd. location is fantastic! I don't trust my kitties with anyone else. She is sweet, patient and gentle with my "rescue" kitty who normally doesn't like anyone-- she let Dr. Jacobs poke and prod as needed without any protest. She also declawed my kitten (4 months old) and was so informative, helpful and patient with me as I threw every question in the book at her as a new cat owner. She gave me all the info I needed and then helped me sort out which courses of action would be best for each of my two cats. Really excellent vet!! Plus the office staff is also sweet and helpful. You can tell everyone who works there does so because they love animals-- not just for the paycheck. I will continue to make the 30-minute drive for this office and Dr. Jacobs.

So kind, so informative, was in no way rushed even though it was after close, and did way more than I ever expected. I only wish I had known about you all sooner. We have been clients of Michigan Road Animal Hospital for over 10 years. The support staff are exceptionally friendly and take the time to connect with you on a personal level. The Vets are also the best I have ever encountered. Dr. Hurd has treated our dogs the whole time and provided excellent care. He has been willing to go above and beyond exploring treatment options for our dogs. We have been extremely happy with the care we have received at Michigan Road Animal Hospital and would not think of taking my dog anywhere else.

I found a stray kitten and took it home. After a couple of days, she had some swelling and I noticed a large open wound. After looking at it, I knew right away she needed a vet. I called 96th street for the first time and I was greeted by Jenn who did a wonderful job of finding time to bring her as well as answer any and all questions I had. I arrived at the hospital and the lounge area was very calm and had separate areas for dog and cat owners. While filling out a form which took just a minute, they took a look at the kitten and informed me that she needed stitches and gave me the quote, which was very reasonable. Dr. Fletcher worked with me to get the operation day same day and I couldn't have been happier. She truly cares for the animals and found time on such short notice to help. I will definitely be a repeat customer and if I ever have any problems with kitty, I feel completely confident that that Dr. Fletcher and her staff will do their best to help.

I've been taking my sweet little guy (dog) to the Michigan Rd Animal Hospital at 96th St for over five years. They have the friendliest staff (they act like they are genuinely glad to see you and that they care about your pet). The doctors there are very caring and knowledgeable. Dr. Fletcher is the best vet I have ever dealt with when it comes to explaining what is going on. She tries hard to put you and your pet at ease while visiting. We love her!

I have been taking my dogs and cats to Dr. Nicol Fletcher for nearly 10 years. She is always straightforward, direct, and confident. My pets receive services including annual check ups, vaccinations, surgical services, and euthanasia all of which were handled well and sensitively. They have always accommodated my urgent visits, too. I left another veterinarian's practice in large part because they were hard to schedule with and always pushing/guilting for "routine blood tests" and other things that I thought were unnecessary for older pets. Dr. Fletcher is flexible, kind and competent. The staff is also efficient and friendly. I recommend this clinic (Dr. Fletcher in particular) to all my friends!

I've been taking my dogs to Dr. Fletcher for over 10 years and have been VERYsatisfied with how she cares for them. Would never consider taking them to anyone else. She has great "table-side" manners with them, is very thorough, and has given us lots of great insight and advice over the years. I have never felt any pressure to take the more expensive treatment options. When we had a lab die a tragic death from a twisted stomach, she was comforting and waived any fees associated with cremation. She has performed surgery a few times over the years and we were very happy with how she and her staff cared for the dogs. I have had excellent experiences with the front desk staff, and never any problems with scheduling or billing.

When my dog tested positive for heart worm, Dr. Hurd suggested we start treatment right away. The treatment was going to be expensive and require that I restrict my dog's exercise for months. I took her to Dr. Dietz at Daisy Lane for a second opinion. Dr. Dietz did another test, and concluded that my dog's heart worm was mild enough that we could treat her by using heart worm preventative each month. I wouldn't have to restrict her exercise, she wouldn't be at any risk, and it wouldn't cost anything extra. When I took her for a check up the following year, she tested negative for heart worm. I am so happy I got a second opinion, and will never return to Michigan Road Animal Hospital. I feel their priority is profit, not animals.

Dr. Hurd either needs to brush up his training or retire.My pet had a serious problem and needed a specialist. He did not realize he was in over his head, and caused a delay which could have cost my pet the use of her leg for the rest of her life.Maybe he's okay for shots and that kind of thing, but I'll never know because he lost my trust.I also don't like when someone I'm dealing with changes crucial bits of information. First he told me he took care of the situation, then he denied he did anything a few days later. Bad move. Maybe I'm weird, but I like a straight-talking Doc that can admit when the problem is beyond them. At least then he'd have my respect.If it's a choice between waiting for an Emergency Vet to open at 6 p.m., or coming to Dr. Hurd, wait until 6 p.m.Also, The name Animal Hospital is misleading. They don't handle serious injury, at least they could not do the soft tissue surgery they claim to do in their pamphlets.Long story short: Take your pet to a vet that will communicate honestly with you.

I had a few friends recommend Dr. Hurd when I was looking a vet for my cat, and I am so happy that I took their suggestion. We now take all of our animals there. The facilities are nice and the staff is incredible. Someone even called after one of our dogs got stitches to see how she was doing. I can't recommend them highly enough.

VERY dissapointed! I have been with this vet for 3 years with all three of my dogs and have spent A LOT of money here. I went in today for my appointment with my rottweiler for his shots and they put us in a room with a muzzle & told me if I couldn't muzzle him they refused to see him. NO ONE offered to help muzzle considering he is 150lbs & the vet technician was too scared to come in the room. What a joke, my dog is a big love bug & had never had to be muzzled before this incident. I am switching vets & wouldn't recommend this place to anyone with a big dog

Dr. Jacobs at the Michigan Rd. location is fantastic! I don't trust my kitties with anyone else. She is sweet, patient and gentle with my "rescue" kitty who normally doesn't like anyone-- she let Dr. Jacobs poke and prod as needed without any protest. She also declawed my kitten (4 months old) and was so informative, helpful and patient with me as I threw every question in the book at her as a new cat owner. She gave me all the info I needed and then helped me sort out which courses of action would be best for each of my two cats. Really excellent vet!! Plus the office staff is also sweet and helpful. You can tell everyone who works there does so because they love animals-- not just for the paycheck. I will continue to make the 30-minute drive for this office and Dr. Jacobs.

I truly could not be more impressed with Dr. Fletcher, your staff and facility. I was in to euthanize my sweet foster kitty this evening (FIP ), and Dr. Fletcher was beyond incredible amid the terrible situation. So kind, so informative, was in no way rushed even though it was after close, and did way more than I ever expected. I only wish I had known about you all sooner. We have been clients of Michigan Road Animal Hospital for over 10 years. The support staff are exceptionally friendly and take the time to connect with you on a personal level. The Vets are also the best I have ever encountered. Dr. Hurd has treated our dogs the whole time and provided excellent care. He has been willing to go above and beyond exploring treatment options for our dogs. We have been extremely happy with the care we have received at Michigan Road Animal Hospital and would not think of taking my dog anywhere else.

I found a stray kitten and took it home. After a couple of days, she had some swelling and I noticed a large open wound. After looking at it, I knew right away she needed a vet. I called 96th street for the first time and I was greeted by Jenn who did a wonderful job of finding time to bring her as well as answer any and all questions I had. I arrived at the hospital and the lounge area was very calm and had separate areas for dog and cat owners. While filling out a form which took just a minute, they took a look at the kitten and informed me that she needed stitches and gave me the quote, which was very reasonable. Dr. Fletcher worked with me to get the operation day same day and I couldn't have been happier. She truly cares for the animals and found time on such short notice to help. I will definitely be a repeat customer and if I ever have any problems with kitty, I feel completely confident that that Dr. Fletcher and her staff will do their best to help.

I've been taking my sweet little guy (dog) to the Michigan Rd Animal Hospital at 96th St for over five years. They have the friendliest staff (they act like they are genuinely glad to see you and that they care about your pet). The doctors there are very caring and knowledgeable. Dr. Fletcher is the best vet I have ever dealt with when it comes to explaining what is going on. She tries hard to put you and your pet at ease while visiting. We love her!

I have been taking my dogs and cats to Dr. Nicol Fletcher for nearly 10 years. She is always straightforward, direct, and confident. My pets receive services including annual check ups, vaccinations, surgical services, and euthanasia all of which were handled well and sensitively. They have always accommodated my urgent visits, too. I left another veterinarian's practice in large part because they were hard to schedule with and always pushing/guilting for "routine blood tests" and other things that I thought were unnecessary for older pets. Dr. Fletcher is flexible, kind and competent. The staff is also efficient and friendly. I recommend this clinic (Dr. Fletcher in particular) to all my friends!

I've been taking my dogs to Dr. Fletcher for over 10 years and have been VERYsatisfied with how she cares for them. Would never consider taking them to anyone else. She has great "table-side" manners with them, is very thorough, and has given us lots of great insight and advice over the years. I have never felt any pressure to take the more expensive treatment options. When we had a lab die a tragic death from a twisted stomach, she was comforting and waived any fees associated with cremation. She has performed surgery a few times over the years and we were very happy with how she and her staff cared for the dogs. I have had excellent experiences with the front desk staff, and never any problems with scheduling or billing.

When my dog tested positive for heart worm, Dr. Hurd suggested we start treatment right away. The treatment was going to be expensive and require that I restrict my dog's exercise for months. I took her to Dr. Dietz at Daisy Lane for a second opinion. Dr. Dietz did another test, and concluded that my dog's heart worm was mild enough that we could treat her by using heart worm preventative each month. I wouldn't have to restrict her exercise, she wouldn't be at any risk, and it wouldn't cost anything extra. When I took her for a check up the following year, she tested negative for heart worm. I am so happy I got a second opinion, and will never return to Michigan Road Animal Hospital. I feel their priority is profit, not animals.

Front desk ladies are always great when you come in the front door and will help in any way they can. I feel confident when Lacy and/or Logan need to go for a visit that they are being taken care of as good as possible.

Dr. Hurd either needs to brush up his training or retire.My pet had a serious problem and needed a specialist. He did not realize he was in over his head, and caused a delay which could have cost my pet the use of her leg for the rest of her life.Maybe he's okay for shots and that kind of thing, but I'll never know because he lost my trust.I also don't like when someone I'm dealing with changes crucial bits of information. First he told me he took care of the situation, then he denied he did anything a few days later. Bad move. Maybe I'm weird, but I like a straight-talking Doc that can admit when the problem is beyond them. At least then he'd have my respect.If it's a choice between waiting for an Emergency Vet to open at 6 p.m., or coming to Dr. Hurd, wait until 6 p.m.Also, The name Animal Hospital is misleading. They don't handle serious injury, at least they could not do the soft tissue surgery they claim to do in their pamphlets.Long story short: Take your pet to a vet that will communicate honestly with you.
