The Neighborhood Veterinarian

Indianapolis, Indiana
General Info
The Neighborhood Veterinarian Indianapolis is a veterinary practice devoted to ensuring that pets throughout the community remain healthy and happy. Located in Indianapolis, United States, the clinic is known for its reliable and professional approach to animal health, creating a supportive environment for pets and owners. The experienced team provides individualized wellness programs, routine examinations, and various treatments tailored to each pet’s needs. Services often include Microchipping, Radiology (X-rays), Behavioral Counseling, Boarding, Wellness Exams, Prescription Medications, and Dental Care. These treatments are performed by focusing on the details to ensure that everything is done well. The practice is well-equipped, and animals experience minimal stress during visits, which aids in accurate diagnosis. Clients often emphasize the caring nature of the veterinary staff, which helps build a long-term relationship based on trust and ensures that pets receive the best possible care. The Neighborhood Veterinarian Clinic is constantly growing in the hearts of Indianapolis pet owners. Whether it is helping young pets to start life on the right foot or managing chronic conditions in aged ones, the team will always be ready to assist. Their desire to continue learning and educating themselves on ways to help animals is evident, and they work hard to ensure they are up-to-date with new information. This ensures that the pets receive the best possible care. It also actively advocates for responsible pet ownership and community involvement. The Neighborhood Veterinarian provides specialized pet care throughout Indianapolis and Indiana thanks to its flexible and willing expertise. The clinic strives to offer the following services: vaccinations, detection of early disease symptoms and general health assessments. During medical consultations, patients frequently mention such issues as fatigue, changes in appetite, and distress to healthcare providers. Veterinarians look at the pet’s history and current symptoms to determine whether more tests are needed or if monitoring is sufficient. The Neighborhood Veterinarian supports clients with everything from nutrition questions to dental exams, dermatology cases, and a pet’s post-surgery care in addition to primary care visits. Local veterinarians are familiar with several ongoing issues dogs may face, such as joint stiffness (which can affect mobility), digestive problems, and skin sensitivity (often linked to seasonal changes). Veterinarians use laboratory tests in conjunction with imaging referrals and physical examinations to diagnose pets who experience behavioral and energy level changes. Pet owners from all over the state of Indiana travel here to make sure their pets get consistent annual exams and continue on track with multi-step treatment plans. Every single entry is clear and precise enough for medical coherence from one visit to another, especially considering that multiple staff members might handle the same patient. The Neighborhood Veterinarian’s care model focuses on discussions and planning. Through the in-depth analysis of symptom occurrence and evolution, the clinic empowers a family to make confident decisions on future steps. And regardless of whether it’s a brief wellness consultation or ongoing case management.

I've been taking my two cats to the Neighborhood Veterinarian and Dr. Sue (Bartz) since about 1998.  Even after moving from Broad Ripple to Fishers, I've continued to go there because of the friendly staff and the no-pressure attitude---they never push unnecessary tests or vaccinations, don't insist on cleaning their teeth if they don't really need it like some other vets do.Recently, I had to make the difficult decision to have one of my sick cats put to sleep.  I'd never dealt with that before, but the staff helped make it as pleasant of an experience as possible for my cat and me:  they had us come in at the end of the day, put us in an exam room in the back away from any noise/foot traffic, had the room dimly lit and a candle burning, a soft blanket for the cat to lie on, etc.  She gave me an overview of the process, and then explained what she was doing as she went along.  After it was over, I was able to sit in the room with her and say goodbye/compose myself.  They told me they'd mail me a bill so I wouldn't have to deal with details and could just go home.  And I just received a very sweet sympathy card, signed by Dr. Sue and all the vet techs who knew Nugget for the 13 years she went to them.If you're in the market for a veterinarian, don't hesitate to go with this practice.
