We have been taking our dog to paw patch for two years now. Everything has been great with her normal check ups. Then we noticed a bump on her tail. We took her in, and they told us it was a cyst, shaved it, and drained it. They let her go home without any instructions to wear a cone, or anything of that sort. Later that week, we noticed that she had been messing with the area, and it was bleeding. We took her back to the vet. They gave us a cone, told us it probably wasn't infected, and send us on our way. The next day, I noticed the spot was still bleeding, and dripping. I called paw patch, they told us it was fine, and to just keep the cone on. I was concerned, but did not want to be overly anxious. The following day, it just looked worse. It was a Sunday, so I ended up taking her to the emergency vet. Who immediately told us that the spot was infected, and that the cyst needed to be removed. They performed surgery and gave us antibiotics and medication, They told us that if we had been in earlier, the infection might not have been as bad, especially if we had been in a few days earlier. They also stated that paw patch should have either removed the cyst completely, or left it in tact, and that, as the vet there punctured and drained the cyst, they should at least have given us instructions to watch her and some antibiotics to prevent infection. I am so mad that I went back AND called the day before and both times they brushed off my concern. I will also note that neither I nor my husband have bothered them with baseless concerns before, so they had no reason to doubt our concern and tell us it would be fine. We will not be back at paw patch place. Read Less
