This is the BEST vet hospital in Indy, hands down. They're very friendly and offer cheap services. Our cat had to have a very difficult surgery, and W 56th St Vet was so kind and helpful in her recovery, even going so far as to monitor her for free during the days after her operation. Dr Dallas is the best vet ever! She has been our vet for over 18 years. she and her staff are very caring .whether it's routine care or seeing my cat throughcancer or heart disease, she never rushes through the appointment! Dr. D and her staff were absolutely wonderful with my fur baby! You can tell these are folks who truly love animals, and understand that they aren't just treating someone's pet; they're treating someone's family member. My dog is pretty high strung when he's not around me, so they took extra time with him to make sure he was comfortable with them around. We've taken all of our pets to West 56th since we moved to the area 15 years ago. Dr. Dallas has always cared deeply for us and our pets. She as cried with us when we've made the difficult, but necessary decision to euthanize. She's performed delicate surgeries on our lab Molly who finds innovative ways to ingest foreign bodies. She has worked with us when money was tight. Dr. Dallas is also happy to take the time to explain what exactly is going on with blood tests and surgeries. She will PRETEND your animal needs dental work when it actually doesn't and then she will schedule the procedure without your acquiesence and charge you hundreds of dollars for putting an innocent animal through surgery. I really like Dr. Dallas and staff, but unfortunately I can't come back. I'm writing this review in the clinic waiting room and I have been waiting 2 hours for simple kitten vaccinations. I totally understand things happen as I've worked in a clinic, but I've had to reschedule twice because I gave up after an hour. Today I have held on cause this needs to get done. I "liked" this page because LOOOVE was not an option! Dr Dallas was our vet for over 20 years because she is the best in every regard. Not enough time to share all the details, but suffice to say that when I moved away from the Indianapolis area a few years ago, she was one of two people I cried about leaving. (The other was my dog groomer.) Still missing her and many of the people who made up her office staff. Probably always will.Read Less

Dr. Dallas is amazing with our dog. She's been going since she was a pup and loves going. She gets nervous but Dr. Dallas talks to her and pets her. The staff there is so knowledgable and very nice. Dr. Dallas and staff are the best....We had to let our girl Lilith go at the Airport Emergency hospital a week ago, they told us they would notify our vet (West 56th St Vet Hospital)... On Saturday we got a sympathy card from our vet Dr. Dallas, and a note about making a contribution in Lilith's name to the development fund at Purdue, also a card about the Rainbow Bridge and a note about the Pet Loss grief Support Group. I've taken my pets to West 56th St Veterinarian Hospital since 1987-88 and have never been disappointed. They are caring and understanding. They always get you in for an appt. in a reasonable amount of time. I've even seen someone come in with a sick animal who was not turned away because of no appointment. I do highly recommend them to anyone seeking a good veterinarian for their four-footed babies. Parking is good and plenty of grass around for doggies to weedle or doodle before seeing the doc.
