Access Veterinary Care's mission is improving the well-being of pets and their people by making veterinary care easier and more convenient. We offer a full-service clinic with surgery, dentistry, radiographs, labwork, ultrasound and more - as well as the option for in-home care.
Many pets receive limited or no veterinary care because of the difficulty and stress involved in transporting them to a clinic. In one study, 38% of cat and 26% of dog owners admitted they get stressed just thinking about taking their pet to the vet. These are pets that no doubt would receive more care, more frequently, if their owners had an option that was less stressful for their pets and themselves. Access Veterinary Care provides that option.
Specific in-home services we offer include:
- Preventative health care: Annual or semi-annual physicals, with screening tests and vaccinations as indicated, are essential to keep pets healthy and identify problems early.
- Diagnosis and treatment of non-critical disease: The majority of common pet health problems, from allergies to ear infections, can be diagnosed and addressed on-site.
- Management of chronic conditions: Diseases such as arthritis, hypertension, and diabetes, may be more accurately assessed in the home environment
- Behavioral consultations: Behavioral problems are nearly always best assessed and treated in the pet's own environment. Furthermore, some behavior problems may make it more difficult to transport a pet to the clinic, making home care a valuable option.
- Exotic Pet Care: Reptiles, birds, and small mammals are increasingly popular pets. In-home care is even more valuable for ill exotic pets as many are highly stressed by transport; likewise, the unique needs of different species often makes observation in their normal environment essential to identify problems.
- End-of-life care and euthanasia: It is never easy to say goodbye to our companions. In-home options for euthanasia and hospice care help make this difficult time less stressful for many people and pets.
