This place is horrible. DO NOT take your you pet here. You will pay outrageous prices for the vet to do nothing and unnecessary office visits to drag out treatments to continue to bill you. Office staff is less than professional and they refuse to give your pets records when you ask for them to verify treatments. Have spoken with many others with same experiences here. So sad to be in that business and not care about the pets or the people that love them. This is my experience with Tender Loving Care. Read Less

While the staff seems friendly, this place is only in it for the money. I felt no real compassion each time I went, I just felt like they were pushing for more and more money. They are crazy expensive and charge for EVERYTHING. I had my dog go for surgery (at an orthopedic surgeon) and I needed her staples removed. The surgeon told me I could take her to my vet to have it done free of charge since it was a simple procedure and they were more convenient. I called and was told they will charge for that since "the veterinarian has not evaluated the dog's condition." I DON'T NEED HER TO EVALUATE MY DOG, THE SURGEON IS DOING THAT SINCE HE PERFORMED THE SURGERY. Just quite unhappy with the blatant greed and general disregard for the well-being of my pet. Will be transferring my dog's records and not recommending this place to anyone. Read Less

I made an appt for 10:30 but when i got there they said my appt was for 9:30. I wrote down my appt time while on the phone with them. They didn't even try to fit us in even though my dog is sick and there was 1 person in the waiting room. I will never go there again. Read Less

We are SO grateful for the doctors & staff at TLC & trust them implicitly with our two Maltese, Beau & Lacey! Their knowledge & skill is only surpassed by their care & compassion for the animals they see. Our "babies" never mind going to TLC because they know everyone there adores them & has their best interests at heart. There's nothing we wouldn't do for our "babies," and making sure they get the best healthcare possible is a must. When we take them to TLC, we know they're getting that and so much more. You won't in my opinion find a better group of ladies.....and boys too! I have went to several vet's in the surrounding area, and none of them as personal, caring, dedicated, knowledgeable or friendly as the others! Wouldn't take my barking babies anywhere else! The staff at TLC are wonderful people that not only care about your pets but they help the shelter pets as well. They even keep a few of the Morgan County Humane Societies shelter cats at there office to help them find good homes. Read Less

My husband and I have been taking our dog and cat to TLC Animal Hospital since we moved to Martinsville in 2007. Originally we went there, because it was close but will continue to bring our animals here even if were to move out of the town. Their hours are great, so it makes it possible to make appointments easily after work even for commuters like ourselves. Dr. Alridge and Dr. Snyder are not only amazing with animals but also have excellent rapor with the humans as well! They and their staff are super friendly; even hosting an open house with pictures with Santa at Christmas time! Over the years, we have taken our animals there for everything from their yearly vaccines to tummy problems to our dog being in horrible pain after dislocating her patella and subsuquent surgery at a surgical clinic. In every situation, they have not only made sure our pets are in as little pain as possible but also have soothed our worries as well. Additionally, after each visit-no matter what the case-there is always a friendly call the next day asking how the animal is doing! This is a fabulous place to bring your animals and would highly recommend it to anyone! Read Less

I was very impressed with my experience at Tender Loving Care Animal Hospital (formerly Martinsville Veterinary Hospital). It was very clean, and the staff greeted me with a smile and paid attention to my dog. Dr. Aldridge was very thorough, doing a complete physical exam and making recommendations to support my dog's health. She was very concerned about pain management when discussing a lump that needed to be taken off. She gives pain medicine before, during, and after the surgery, and even sends medicine home to keep him comfortable. She showed that she really cared about what's best for my dog, and spent a lot of time answering all my questions. I was given an accurate estimate, and the prices are a good value for the exceptional level of medical care and customer service.
