I have 2 senior pets, a dog and a cat. Both of them have multiple health issues. Especially Pets and staff, have been wonderful in helping maintain their quality of life. Dr Kantz has been so kind and patient, explaining what is being done for each of them and answering multiple questions, both during appointments and through phone calls. I have never been made to feel that my questions were silly or unimportant. Everyone on staff showers love and praise on my pets.

This is last time I bring my current 2 dogs to Exclusively Pets. I have been a customer for over 15 years while the retired Luanne Jensen was a close friend of someone I dated for well over 8 years. They have a NEW VET Kristi Kantz, DVM whom I deem an absolute disgrace to the profession.
I witnessed Kristi Kantz, DVM dragging my dog through the office door full force knees bent. I know my dogs cries of pain that I could hear from inside my vehicle, so I ran into the office absolutely appalled. My dog was flat on the floor shaking and crying. The choker was so tight I had trouble looseing it so I could get my dog away from Kristi Kantz, DVM. Her reaction to my concern and while asking her 3 times if she needed help: was shock/silence followed by rage as she yelled at me in a man's voice to get out of the office.
I have never witnessed anyone at Exclusively Pets treat any animal as such. Kristi Kantz, DVM is the NEWEST replacement since Luanne Jensens retirement. My dog was traumatized by Kristi Kantz, DVM and I am going to insure that I inform as many animal lovers as I can in everyway possible.
Perhaps my dog being the last appointment on Friday before COB necesitates skipping any form of professionalism and compasion while customers are asked to wait in their vehicle (COVID19) while leaving your dog 'unseen' with Kristi Kantz, DVM. I could think of many other ways to professionally and compassionately coax a frightened animal, but this was not HER animal.
I am a college graduate and U.S. Army Veteran that has lived on this planet for 56 years. I have come across many people and backgrounds and 'I know this kind of people'. Do not let Kristi Kantz, DVM treat your animal. She has disrespected her profession, Especially Pets LLC, the staff past and present, myself, My Dog Mika along with herself.
All the above information pertains to Kristi Kantz, DVM. I am in NO way wishing or intending discredit/harm to Especially Pets of New Albany, Indiana 47150 or it's staff in that Kristi Kantz DVM has already done so. I have the right to share my experience with anyone I deem having animals, clout and gumption.

this place recommended by a friend.we had a rescued cat Sammy who was sick,we had to have him put to sleep they let us bring him home to bury him.they were so sweet.t...

I've been under impressed when I've been there. Years ago my cat was very sick and dying. He spent the day there, did X-rays, blood work, you name it. They didn't think anything was wrong and sent him...
I've been under impressed when I've been there. Years ago my cat was very sick and dying. He spent the day there, did X-rays, blood work, you name it. They didn't think anything was wrong and sent him home. And he got worse. I called a 24hr vet in Louisville who diagnosed my cat over the phone after hearing the symptoms; picca, the cat ate string. Sure enough my cat had eaten a belly full of my hair ties. The same cat had cancer. Super sick again. They werent helpful in caring for him as no treatment plan was discussed and no options were really laid out. I never went back there and I usually advise anyone else to avoid them.
It's a good place if you're just getting shots or the basic stuff.

Will everyone please help me share this post,these people are wrong,they took an oath to save animals not kill them......."They were all about the "MONEY",FOUND A KITTEN,having a seizure and was Jenkins and twitching so bad,and took the kitten out there and offered to give the kitten a home if they would help her and save her life,as soon as I said I don't have no money,they told me to take the kitten to the pound,to be put to sleep,vetanarions are suppose to be like Dr's and take a oath to help and save the lives of the animals that come into their office,but not especially pets,if your broke and no money they would rather see your animal DIE than to help you......I'm a do everything in my power to make this go viral so please share this post".....

We've taken four dogs to Especially Pets since moving to my current home in New Albany and we couldn't ask for a better veterinary office. Both Dr. Jensen and Dr. Spencer are warm, caring, informative, knowledgeable and know exactly when to refer us to specialists. They help us keep our pets comfortable as they age, allowing for a prolonged life with quality of life. They've had to deliver good and bad news and they do both with sensitivity. We once burst into tears when getting news that our dog's condition wasn't dire, as we thought it would be. I'm sure they don't get that experience as often as having to deliver bad news. My only complaint is sometimes the wait time, but I can live with that since they give us the time to get all our questions answered. Sherri and Cheryl are very friendly, get our prescriptions ready within minutes of calling and have a real love of animals. We ran into Cheryl at the grocery months ago and she asked about our dog Lilly, who had recently been diagnosed with cancer. Not every vet's office will recognize you by either sight or voice on the phone but they do! We love this whole office of wonderful people!

I feel extremely sorry to the person who wrote the review that lost his dog. I've lost pets too and I know how painful that is.I can't say I've ever had an experience like that one that was mentioned....

I've lost pets too and I know how painful that is.I can't say I've ever had an experience like that one that was mentioned. I do have to wonder tho why the dog was just taken home and not to an emergency service place such as Jefferson Animal Hospital in Louisville if you couldn't be seen at the reg vet... you know like what people do when in an emergency situation? Who knows. It might have made a difference.
I've had one pet that I had to have put down due to cancer. Dr. Jansen and Cheryl both were very compassionate with me after they saw how much it hurt to have lost my fuzzy friend. I have since then gotten another schnauzer and they are great with him when I take him in. I am about to show up with yet another dog. I've had nothing but good experiences with the care they give to the animals and how they treat me as a concerned pet owner. I would recommend E.P. to everyone!

I cannot say enough GREAT things about the people who work in this office - from Sheryl who answers the phone to Dr. Jensen & Dr. Spencer. Their whole team is great and they truly care about the animals they treat. They have been incredible through the many health problems my dog Goose has had over the past several months, and I really appreciate all they have done. I have been taking all three of my dogs here for several years, and never had a bad experience. Thank you all!

Horrible place! My dog had a growth on her belly that needed to be removed. She had her surgery on a Friday. After the surgery, everything was fine. We went back on Tuesday to have her checked out. At this visit, her drain tubes were removed and bandaged. On Thursday, I changed the bandage to see there is now just a huge hole where the tube was. I called the office about the hole being so big, I was told that they left it open to drain some more. Ok, so the next day, Friday evening, the smell coming from more poor dog was unbearable!! It was the most horrific smell I have ever experienced. So first thing Saturday morning I called with the concerns of the smell and the "hole" was all white, including her nipple. I was basically blown off by being told Saturdays are always overbooked and that if she is drinking and eating, she is fine and that the smell is from the "cancer" cells. She said to just keep the appointment for that Monday morning. Monday came and the smell was so horrible that all my windows in my car had to be down to even breath, even when I got to the office, they opened the windows there!! They took my dog to the other room and said pick her up after 2, because they had "brine" the dead skin that formed. Not even explaining what that meant... My husband had to pick her up after work. When I got home the hole was STILL open and three time larger! And charged him again for these services! Two days past and the smell was back! I called another local vet and explained everything, guess what?? They wanted to see her RIGHT NOW. Just as they thought, my dog has a very bad infection in the hole now!

Will everyone please help me share this post,these people are wrong,they took an oath to save animals not kill them......."They were all about the "MONEY",FOUND A KITTEN,having a seizure and was Jenkins and twitching so bad,and took the kitten out there and offered to give the kitten a home if they would help her and save her life,as soon as I said I don't have no money,they told me to take the kitten to the pound,to be put to sleep,vetanarions are suppose to be like Dr's and take a oath to help and save the lives of the animals that come into their office,but not especially pets,if your broke and no money they would rather see your animal DIE than to help you......I'm a do everything in my power to make this go viral so please share this post".....

We've taken four dogs to Especially Pets since moving to my current home in New Albany and we couldn't ask for a better veterinary office. Both Dr. Jensen and Dr. Spencer are warm, caring, informative, knowledgeable and know exactly when to refer us to specialists. They help us keep our pets comfortable as they age, allowing for a prolonged life with quality of life. They've had to deliver good and bad news and they do both with sensitivity. We once burst into tears when getting news that our dog's condition wasn't dire, as we thought it would be. I'm sure they don't get that experience as often as having to deliver bad news. My only complaint is sometimes the wait time, but I can live with that since they give us the time to get all our questions answered. Sherri and Cheryl are very friendly, get our prescriptions ready within minutes of calling and have a real love of animals. We ran into Cheryl at the grocery months ago and she asked about our dog Lilly, who had recently been diagnosed with cancer. Not every vet's office will recognize you by either sight or voice on the phone but they do! We love this whole office of wonderful people!

They are the best around this area!! I have been to a few in the area and really disliked all of them. I love how friendly they are with us and our pets!! Super loving staff all of them!!!

I feel extremely sorry to the person who wrote the review that lost his dog. I've lost pets too and I know how painful that is.I can't say I've ever had an experience like that one that was mentioned....

I do have to wonder tho why the dog was just taken home and not to an emergency service place such as Jefferson Animal Hospital in Louisville if you couldn't be seen at the reg vet... you know like what people do when in an emergency situation? Who knows. It might have made a difference.
I've had one pet that I had to have put down due to cancer. Dr. Jansen and Cheryl both were very compassionate with me after they saw how much it hurt to have lost my fuzzy friend. I have since then gotten another schnauzer and they are great with him when I take him in. I am about to show up with yet another dog. I've had nothing but good experiences with the care they give to the animals and how they treat me as a concerned pet owner. I would recommend E.P. to everyone!

I cannot say enough GREAT things about the people who work in this office - from Sheryl who answers the phone to Dr. Jensen & Dr. Spencer. Their whole team is great and they truly care about the animals they treat. They have been incredible through the many health problems my dog Goose has had over the past several months, and I really appreciate all they have done. I have been taking all three of my dogs here for several years, and never had a bad experience. Thank you all!

Horrible place! My dog had a growth on her belly that needed to be removed. She had her surgery on a Friday. After the surgery, everything was fine. We went back on Tuesday to have her checked out. At this visit, her drain tubes were removed and bandaged. On Thursday, I changed the bandage to see there is now just a huge hole where the tube was. I called the office about the hole being so big, I was told that they left it open to drain some more. Ok, so the next day, Friday evening, the smell coming from more poor dog was unbearable!! It was the most horrific smell I have ever experienced. So first thing Saturday morning I called with the concerns of the smell and the "hole" was all white, including her nipple. I was basically blown off by being told Saturdays are always overbooked and that if she is drinking and eating, she is fine and that the smell is from the "cancer" cells. She said to just keep the appointment for that Monday morning. Monday came and the smell was so horrible that all my windows in my car had to be down to even breath, even when I got to the office, they opened the windows there!! They took my dog to the other room and said pick her up after 2, because they had "brine" the dead skin that formed. Not even explaining what that meant... My husband had to pick her up after work. When I got home the hole was STILL open and three time larger! And charged him again for these services! Two days past and the smell was back! I called another local vet and explained everything, guess what?? They wanted to see her RIGHT NOW. Just as they thought, my dog has a very bad infection in the hole now!
