I drive from Louisville to come to this vet because you can't find this level of care anywhere else. They answer my silly questions with so much detail. They care about my fur babies. I decided to try them because of their convenient location, hours and the fact that they take appointments but after 2 terrible experiences, I will never go back! They almost killed my fur baby!!!! The first experience was a misdiagnosis. They said my beagle had ringworm and prescribed something that caused it to get worse. I gave them a second chance and they corrected the diagnosis to a bacterial infection and it cleared up with antibiotics. Dr. Hesse performed surgery to remove a tumor on my other fur baby and almost KILLED him. He developed a staph infection and after taking him back there 3 times begging them to help, Dr. Hesse never tested the oozing, inflamed incision and told me we were being drama queens. I drove 30 miles to a clinic that was highly recommended in Louisville and they saved my baby’s life. They tested the infected, inflamed, oozing area and discovered the staph infection which would have killed him and was likely caused by dirty surgical tools and treated it accordingly. I was a "customer" at Ridgeview Animal Clinic since about 1988 when Dr. Boone owned the clinic. Dr. Hesse bought it about 15 years ago and I kept taking my cats and dogs there. However, after the third time that Dr. Hesse did not answer an emergency call, I have chosen to go elsewhere. The first emergency I had with my dog who was hit by a car and Dr. Hesse said "give him an aspirin and bring him in in the morning".; the second time was a different dog and I never received a call back after leaving a message with the answering service. The third time was last year when I called concerning an emergency with one of our other pets, and I did not receive a call back at all. When I went to the clinic the following morning with the very sick pet I was told Dr. Hesse "may have been at a soccer game with one of his kids." So, no more with this clinic for me. Read Less

I like Dr. Hesse as a person and always trusted him (been going to Ridgeview even before Dr. Hesse purchased it). Through the years, it seems as though they keep trying to "sell" more and more, pushing this or that deal for taking care of a pet. @ different times, tests were ordered that turned out to be unnecessary (and hard on my pet). 2 times over the last 15 years, when I had a real need for medical advice for a pet on an emergency basis, I did not receive any call back. After the last time, when Dr. Hesse was on call and did not call me back, I visited the office the following morning with my very sick pet (who later died) and the other vet told me he may not have called me because "he was at a soccer game with his child." My older Yorkie recently had a serious stomach infection, requiring nearly a week of intervention care and several nights in the clinic. The entire Ridgeview staff was wonderful: from the telephone and front desk staff to the technicians and vets. Dr. Wallace was exceptional in her attention and commitment to his recovery, even coming in on her days off to check on him. Jaime and Aubrey were particularly caring, attentive and communicative. I have taken all my fluffs to Ridgeview. They are always easy to make appointments with and have nice reminder systems in place. The vets always remember all my cats and are very kind to them. Whenever My Dad takes Our Cat Pounce to Ridgeview once a year for a check up they are always good on checking everything on Pounce and if Pounce needs anything done to him. Especially when Pounce needs A New Bag of His Dry Food they always have it in stock. This place is amazing. I take both my cat and dog here and they are so sweet to them. Dr. Alexis Wallace, as well as the techs, loves to give lots of treats and truly cares about every animal she sees. She is great about answering questions and is great about looking for alternative treatments besides just medicating. They are also open pretty late so it is very convenient for us rather than trying to squeeze in during the morning hours while I'm at work. Read Less

I absolutely love Ridgeview!!! I have been there quite a bit recently with one pup having bladder surgery, having to have our 17 year old collie mix put to sleep and another being diagnosed with cushing disease. They have been wonderful every single time. I appreciate all of the one on one time you get at your appointments. They go above and beyond to make your feel comfortable and you can go home and feel good about the course of action they have chosen for your pets. Read Less

This place is a joke. Clerks extremely rude, vets sell you products then Clerks talk about how bad the product is that you just bought. I bought flea treatment for my dogs over 100 dollars just to get home and realize they sold me the wrong size doses. I call to get it replaced I'm told how bad the product is that the vet told me to use and they won't exchange the product. On a side note I am a akc siberian husky breeder who has raised multiple litters with this clinic, and also have promoted this vet for a few years now to all new owners. Needless to say they can expect not to see my pups or parents anymore. Stay away from this place it's a joke. Read Less

Went to Ridgeview because it was close and absolutely loved it. Great staff and awesome vets. My doggie has been going there since we got him at 6 weeks old and he loves going! They treat him so well that he actually gets excited about going to the vet. If that doesn't say they're doing a fabulous job I don't know what does!! Keep up the great work!! Read Less

I originally picked Ridgeview due to their location but I'm so glad I did. I can say without a doubt that they saved my cat's life. Not only did they discover a lump but the were willing to operate to remove it despite her being 17 years old. She loves the doctors here and even though I moved to Jeffersonville, I will make the drive to continue coming here. If you're looking for quality care for your animals, look no further. Read Less

This place is phenomenal. My dog was in need of a bladder surgery and his regular vet couldn't fit him in. Ridgeview was able to fit him in for a surgery when (literally) fifteen other vets in the area couldn't do the same. Convenient to our house.  Dr hessy is nice guy who was great with the dogs. Explained everything to me about my dogs ears. Seemed kinda pricey though but they had not been to vet for a while. Girls at front desk were nice. Read Less

The only way I can begin this review is by saying Dr. Hesse & the entire staff at Ridgeview Animal Clinic are incredible. After going to a local vet within miles of Ridgeview, and receiving less than the best care for my animals, I needed a new vet fast. My Cat of 15 years took a turn for the worst & by chance someone suggested Ridgeview. When I called heartbroken to setup the appointment to let my Cat go, every single employee I met and communicated with was sincere & genuinely cared for my pain. When Dr. Hesse arrived at my house, he showed sympathy & tender care for my cat. He explained the process of how we would let my cat pass step by step. Because of Dr. Hesse, our cat passed quietly & with so much love. The entire experience from the receptionist booking my appointment as fast as she could, to Dr. Hesse helping our beloved Cat pass was so peaceful & full of love. This vet really knows what they are doing. They are very well organized, clean, have plenty of staff on hand to help you with your animals. The technician will help you put your dog on the table and restrain them during an examination. Dr. Hesse is very knowledgeable and spent a very lengthy time talking to us on our first visit there. I can't say enough about how great this vet is. The prices are not crazy and very reasonable. The staff is very nice and welcoming and they update you on the vaccinations for your dogs and any other appointments that you need to make. The veterinarians are very knowledgeable and know what they are talking about.
