Smith Animal Clinic

General Info
Smith Animal Clinic offers care for small and large animals. We are not limited to just the care of you dog or cat, but also for your larger farm animals, such as, horses and goats. Even your fine-feathered friend can be brought to us for beak and nail-trimmings or to have their wings clipped.
Boarding services are also available at our facility.
We are not limited to just office services. Dr. Christie also provides farm(house) calls for local residents in Harrison and Crawford Counties.
Some of the services that are provided, but not limited to, are as follows: Health/Wellness exams, vaccines, surgery, boarding, grooming, blood/lab tests, fecal exams, x-rays, and dental care.
We carry Royal Canin and Hills Science Prescription Diet Foods in canned and dry formulas and CET Pet Chews. We have medicated shampoos/conditioners, flea/tick medications, heartworm prevention, de-wormers, and vitamins.
For the prevention of heartworms and control of fleas, round/hook/whipworms we carry Trifexis,(for dogs) and Advantage Multi for dogs and cats. For fleas and ticks on cats and dogs we offer Seresto Collars, & Frontline Plus. We carry Nexgaurd for the control of flea/ticks on dogs.
We do accept walk-ins but it is always a good idea to call ahead to schedule an appointment for your furry friend to avoid long delays during your visit to our office.

This place ripped us off. We had to put a deposit down when we scheduled appointment. Then when I showed up, waited 20mims, some tech took me and my kittens into a room. Told her I needed 1st kitten ...
This place ripped us off. We had to put a deposit down when we scheduled appointment. Then when I showed up, waited 20mims, some tech took me and my kittens into a room. Told her I needed 1st kitten shots. She then sent me to waiting room and took kittens somewhere else. Never once told me the prices. The real vet, I guess, she didn't have coat on, name tag or anything: came out and gave me a speech about spaying the mother because one of the kittens was male. 8 week old male... I'm 44 and have had cats my entire life and I am well Aware how to take care of my animals. Then brought my kittens out to me. Checking out they gave me the total.. $250.00! And since I paid with credit card they add 3% more. Not once did anyone explain any of this to me. They took my money and did nothing to appease their customer. I won't ever be back and I will spread the word all around about them.

I love Smith's! I will never take my animals anywhere else. My pets have only been seen by Dr. Christi and Dr. Smith(both are beyond fantastic), but I hear great things about the other vetrinarians there. The ladies up front (Sharon and Joe) are so sweet and have always gone above and beyond for me and my disabled mother-in-law. Plus, they're always in a good mood and fun to talk with. I had a Maltese named Sugar who had a lot of health problems. I knew she was suffering and I had to let go. It was on a Saturday and they close at 1:00 on Saturdays (or at least they used to) and I called them at 12:30, unaware they were closing soon. I explained what Sugar was going through. Sharon spoke with Dr. Smith and they said bring her on in. I was devistated and was unsure on what to do. Dr. Smith took his time with me to explain the process in great detail. He never rushed me or got frustrated with my lack of decision making. He told me to take my time. By now, it's 1:30. Finally I decided to go ahead and have her put to sleep. He never pushed that on me and he did a great job at explaining both sides without leaning one way or another. I was calling to the point I couldn't talk when I got there but when I left, I felt peace. I was so grateful for their patience and understanding. They've always done great with my animals and I can't imagine taking them anywhere else.

I love the people here. They are very nice and friendly. When you have an emergency they fit you right in. You don't have to wait for long periods to be seen. They even have a little area for young kids to help keep them entertained during the time they do have to wait. They work with you on payments if need and they don't charge an arm and a leg to treat your loved one. All in all a great place to take a pet that you love and want the best care for.

We took my 6 week old kitten in because she had swelling in her joints. We didnt have an appointment they just said come in and we will try to fit you in. They had to drain her joints and they made sure our baby kitty was well taken care of. I even called back today because I was unsure what to do with her incision and they were happy to help! Bringing all my animals back! They treat them like I want to be treated in a hospital. 5 stars from me!

The wait time is just not acceptable. I went in with a stool sample because the vet wanted to check it then talk to me. I started as the only one in the lobby. It took well over an hour for the vet to talk to me and on top of that I was put in a small maybe 3x7 room to wait at about 45 min in. Only for the vet to talk to me for 3 min give me a med and send me on my way.

It's the worst vet to go to. She was gonna let our dog suffer and die with an open neck womb. Dr. Christy rather wait a week before even trying to do surgery on our dog. I don't think she knows what she is doing and just is plan lazy and rather take shortcuts instead. If we didn't take her to another vet to get looked at our dog would of died. So therefore Smith Animal Clinic is the worse veterinary office ever!!!!

As I sit here this morning with the burden on my shoulder of having to put my dog down I looked up Smith Animal clinic to check the hours. Even though I have been going here for 15 years I still needed to look hoping that I could prolong this decision. Smith animal clinic has been the best place for my pets since I moved to this town. Doctor Smith and his staff are the best. Sharon at the desk and been the greatest as well. If you have to travel a few extra miles it's worth it for your pet to be under their care. Thank you Doctor Smith for all the great years of service.

As I sit here this morning with the burden on my shoulder of having to put my dog down I looked up Smith Animal clinic to check the hours.
