We took our dog on the open walk-in day because there were some markings on his belly that we were concerned about. The vet barely acknowledged me. He was talking about riding his bike with the staff. (The staff was also not very welcoming). He didn't say hello to me or shake my hand or anything. Just asked why I was there. I pointed out the area of concern. And he said "there is nothing wrong with this dog" and continued to talk about riding his bike and walked away. I felt so angry as I was checking out that I actually had to pay $ for the horrible rude treatment I just received. I will never go back to this vet and would never recommend him to anyone. I can't say enough good things about Dr Flanders and the VIP Staff!! Common sense approach to animal care; affordable pricing! They NEVER push extra or unnecessary services! I have been going here for years; all three of my cats have received excellent service and care! If you go to the Tuesday or Thursday Walk-In Clinic you'll be seen as quickly as possible; just don't expect a long appointment if you have a lot of issues; it's a walk in clinic. If you need a lot of time or have a lot of questions; schedule an appointment. The walk in hours are great for routine things like shots and minor issues. My dog had severe dry eyes for the last 3 years and has been blind for the last 2 years. Dr. Flanders was our original vet and did a great job while we lived here. After 3 years of miserable experiences with every vet in cape coral, florida, I decided to drive my dog 1200 miles to see Dr. Flanders. He immediately said the eyes need to be removed and should have been years ago. I could have saved mazey years of suffering. 24 hours after surgery and my dog is better than I have seen in years. We have received outstanding care and service. The staff is always so friendly, prices are reasonable and you can get an appointment quickly. The staff has provided tips and ideas many times via phone when issues arise which is greatly appreciated. Recently our cat ate a hair tie and I immediately called and they walked me thru what to do. Have been going to Dr. Flanders for years with breeding dogs, rescue dogs, and pet cats and dogs. I go to him because 1) he knows what he is doing and is good at it; 2) he is priced well; 3) he has convenient clinic hours. I do not go to him for him to be my best friend. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a vet. The vet was rude and impatient. I have a very nervous cat and she did NOTHING to help soothe her. Unless, you consider aggressively covering her with a towel soothing. I tried to hold my cat, Theta, as she gave her shots. The vet tech then aggressively grabbed the back of my cats neck, not exactly soothing. My cat then peed on my lap out of fear. I mentioned this and the vet rudely said, "there is nothing I can do about that." Which, I am aware of and only said that to make YOU aware that you man-handling my cat is NOT soothing her. My cat then ran to the corner of the room, when I tried to pick her up, she was so scared that she bit me. Again, I am okay with her biting me, as long as it's not a member of the staff. The vet then rudely told me that I needed to go get first aid immediately, which is fine. What I did NOT appreciate was hearing your staff shoving her into her kennel, I walked away hysterically crying because I could hear the screams of my cat. I will NEVER be returning to your clinic. My cat and I are still traumatized about this. I can never get her screams out of my head. She has barely moved from the bed since I got her home. I am so upset and will encourage everyone I know and love to NEVER bring their fur babies to your clinic. The only bright spot was your employee, Ashley, taking the time to console me. She seemed to be the only person to show any sort of compassion.Read Less

I can't say enough how much I love everyone at VIP! My husband and I brought our very pregnant dog to see him. Jerry and his staff took excellent care of her. They delivered her babies via c section and saved my baby girl's life. 12 of the puppies, I am happy to say, are doing very well. Nyla is happy, healthy, and gaining her weight back. Absolutely worst clinic ever! The vet had NO bedside manner, was extremely unsympathetic that we were putting down part of our family, and even exclaimed, "Welp, that's done!" before he was out the door completely... all in front of the children. The office was disgusting, just filthy, and the scented candles we were forced to inhale overpowering. The staff we came in contact with were not in tune with their job nor could they answer simple questions. They were demeaning and the vet accusatory as if we don't have a choice in where we take our loved ones for care. FIRST AND LAST! Read Less

We drive a long distance for Dr Flanders to spay/neuter our puppies and he is an excellent surgeon! In addition, he is caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable with both large and small animals and we have been very happy with him as our Veterinarian. My dog just came home from there today after having surgery.... I must say, I love the people there and they were very hands on with my dog!!! Actually said that my dog was a pleasure to have in their office. I think the service you receive is based on the attitude you walk in their office with.
