Low Cost Spay Neuter Clinic

We’ve taken our dogs and cats here to be spayed or neutered for year she and they have always been wonderful with them. We’ve never had problems. I’m actually taking another dog tomorrow. They are super busy on surgery days but they are so organized and everything runs super smoothly. Our animals have never had a problem and I will always thanks my pets here. Great prices yes, but FANTASTIC care for your animals. Highly recommend! Read Less

I have had two cats fixed here with no issue. It is a little daunting the first time you show up but once you know how they operate, you'll be fine. I learned after the first one to arrive a bit earlier than the scheduled drop off time, so I did have to wait a bit once. The second time I was early so I was in and out quickly. Have to admit first time I heard of this place I thought of the "BMV" of clinics. Then I brought my pup in. Love the clear cut set up. They are exactly what their name implies. They offer all the shots and flea and tick medicine too. Read Less

This is a mill not a clinic. Came in the morning for a neuter and there were at least 25 dogs there and most for the same procedure! The line for sign-in was out the door and another 10 dogs coming after me. I never took my dog out of the car since you could see the line from the main street. Needless to say but my dog is worth more than that. As well, you will be sitting in the wait room for at least an hour. Read the other reviews and it seems because this place is cheap it is nice. Cheap is not what I'm looking for when it comes to health and especially surgery. Will not even think about taking my dog to that "clinic." Read Less

The clinic was an affordable alternative to a vet office for spay/neuter and vaccine. The facility was clean and while it is first come, first serve, it was a relatively quick queue. I recommend it as the money saved can instead go towards quality food and toys for your furry friend. Read Less

We used this place for shots, chipping, and flea treatments, and never had a problem. We got our puppy neutered and he came home peeing blood. They gave us a free visit and diagnosed him with a bladder infection and then I bought antibiotics from them. Before even seeing my dog at the free though, the first thing said to me is "this has nothing to do with the surgery, it was no where near the bladder." It takes very little medical knowledge to know neutering is the removing of the dogs testicles, which supply the sperm, sperm which exit the body through the urethra. The urethra that bacteria travels up to get to the bladder and causes bladder infections. They said stress caused the infection. I have never heard of stress causing a bacterial infection. My dog is better now, but I feel like bacteria was introduced to my dog somewhere during the course the surgery that caused the infection. We will continue to use then for flea treatments and vaccines but not for anything more serious. Read Less

After my vet told me it was going to cost $450 to neuter my 3 year-old dog, I decided to look into other options. A friend of mine went to the location in Brownsburg and recommended it to me. My pup did just fine, healed well, and was back up and running within a few days! No issues! The staff here gets a huge number of appointments done in a day and you can tell that they work very hard! There were definitely about 35-40 other people there, so I had to wait about 45 mins to even drop him off for the day, and another 45 mins to pick him up. But considering I saved about $400, I would have waited all day! They also offer low-cost vaccines, medications, and other procedures.I love my dog more than anything and I would highly recommend this place to any other animal lover! Read Less

I called over 20 vets in nearby towns... $35 here! I didn't mind the wait. They worked with me on an early pick up time for very legit reasons and I was so grateful for that! Will be bringing in the stray we now have to be fixed as well. Read Less

Amazing! The staff is amazing! So sweet and compassionate, I am fiercely protective of my fur babies. I had two kittens to get spayed, and who hadn't had their second set of shots yet, my Vet's office while also great was going to charge me $115 each to spay them only, I got them both spayed and a full set of shots each for $150 total, I couldn't believe how well the stitches were done, you could hardly tell they had had anything done, and they were back to their normal feisty little selves the following morning.The staff even offered to help me carry them out to my car.The only downside is that they were very busy, I got there at 7:05 and there was a long wait, which is to be expected, and the waiting area is fairly small, but you can tell they are doing all they can Read Less

This place will save you about 40% from a vet for preventative care (vaccine, heart worm, blood work, dental, spay/neuter, nail trim, homing chip). Expect a wait on weekends. If your dogs don't like other dogs, leave them in the car while you register (first come first serve) and wait, but people are super cool even when your dog is a bit of a jerk. Like one of mine. Took our kitty Frank in yesterday for some full service action. Neutered, shots, nail trim. They got us checked in quickly and were very thorough explaining things to me. This place saved me almost $200 over what my vet wanted to charge for a spay service. Nice staff and reputable services. Very long wait for drop off and pickup. Be prepared to spend an hour for each in a very small/crammed room and the line often is out the door. Read Less

I love the staff, great attitudes and friendly advice. Check in gets crazy but they do their job for fast service. They are good with the animals giving extra pats and lovins. We have taken all 3 dogs and now our kitten in. Never an issue. Thank you for always going the extra mile. Read Less

I was extremely impressed. My puppy went in for surgery and came out as if nothing had happened! She didn't seem to be in any pain and she healed up very quickly without any issues. Everyone was extremely helpful at answering questions and although there was a large number of pets and owners there, it was all very organized and fairly quick! Read Less

I took our 4 month old kitten in to get nuetered and had a fantastic experience. I requested an appointment online and they got back to me the next day and got our kitten in the next week! Drop off went smooth for having so many animals in at once and the price is amazing, we also got flea medication which they put on him before surgery that is super cheap and works great compared to the stuff in stores! We also got our rabies shot there too! Pick up was hectic but the staff handled it well and we're very positive and made sure to answer any questions I had about first time cat ownership! I took my daughter's dog to the transport in Crawfordsville to go to the clinic in Brownsburg. We were treated so well! All the communication was clear about what to expect and when. At the pick up time, we were given information as a group then when we got him back, we were spoken to individually so I knew exactly how to give the pain meds. He has healed up now and doing well. I've taken my pets here the past few years.  Both of my cats and my dog have gotten their vaccinations. Our puppy got spayed, and they put in a chip at the same time.  It's really really low cost,  so obviously there aren't a lot of amenities.  But because my pets are basically healthy and haven't needed a lot of special care, I think these vets do a great job.  They still give a very basic exam which allows you a chance to ask questions & they are so nice and caring.   I found their times on the website. .."Walk-in Vaccine Clinics are on Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 2:30 pm- 5 pm. Also  open Saturday's 8 am-Noon. No appointment is necessary. Surgeries by appointment only." Read Less

Not writing this to give a bad rating or bash them. We have received exceptional care from this place in the past for family pets. Today, however, guest services/treatment was poor. We just added a new member to our family two days ago from the humane society right next door. As told, we got her spayed (here at the low cost clinic) and the very next day we were able to pick her up. We met a very nice lady who told us everything we needed to know about post-operative care, etc & told us to call if we had any questions. Two days later, my small kitten had what looked like a small hernia forming at her incision line from surgery. Following instructions & because I was worried, I called about it and the lady at the front desk proceeded to tell me to bring her in to get looked at ASAP. Not more than 30 min later, I was walking into the clinic, with my kitten in hand, for her to be checked out. What happened next is why I'm writing this review in the first place. The second I walked in the door, I was greeted in a not so friendly way by a (random) lady who proceeded to go off on me about my small kitten not being in a crate.. Now keep in mind I am a first time cat owner, my boyfriend & I are young (20 years of age), we have ONLY had her 2 days, and not once were we ever given instructions about crating our kitten.. So I acknowledged the lady's concerns, told her I was not aware, and proceeded to get in line to get checked in. (Frustrated at this point to say the least). As I was waiting in line (holding my kitten), I was talking to some people who voiced their frustrations about the wait. No one person in line had been helped yet. More than 5 min later, & completely ignoring everyone else in line, I was insulted & singled out (by the front desk lady this time) about not having my kitten in a crate! Frustration now boiling over, I told her that I did not have one and that this is now the second time I was being attacked over my small kitten not being in a crate-which frankly was the least of my concerns. (just wanted her to get looked at). She ignored me & and told me I had to have her in a crate. Again, I reminded her (and made it pretty clear) that I did not have one yet because I had just adopted her, to which she responded I needed to pay 9$ to get one! Well, I did not have cash on me, because I did not come in with the intention of having to pay any money to get my kitten looked at. She took me to the back (ignoring everyone else in line) and told me all about how it was a safety violation and all this stuff. She got me a crate, and my kitten was sent straight to the back to get looked at. Now, I understand with dogs being out in the waiting area that it might be dangerous to have a cat (not crated) out in the open. But just the other day, when I picked up my kitten for the first time, there was a cat just wondering the waiting area! I asked about her and apparently she was the "office cat". But that cat was not crated! And there were plenty of dogs in the open. So I am just confused as to why I was singled out and treated rudely for bringing in my new kitten to be looked at. I was NEVER told to bring her in a crate. Normally a 10/10 rating overall, but very disappointed/upset with the way I was treated today. Guest services/ treatment needs work. Read Less

Over the last few years I have taken between 50 and 100 cats to this clinic for spay/neuter. Excellent service despite the amazing traffic of people in and out. The cats "always" received the best of care. One vet realized a cat had been in chronic pain for months before the surgery and spoke with me on what to do to remedy the condition before the cat was released. They provided great service at an OUTSTANDING price. Our dog recovered quickly (basically didn't even notice anything had happened) and we have had no problems. I would highly recommend this facility for animal spay/neutering. I had no problem calling and getting an appointment. The people at this clinic are both gifted and caring. I have taken my pets (family members actually) there for years. They can be trusted and they have often gone off the grid to provide caring that was not asked for at the start. I have been impressed greatly and will be going back for years to come. Low cost and good service! I go on Saturday and if you arrive past 8AM, expect to wait at least 2 hours. The lobby is small considering the amount of dogs in there so it creates a bit of hectic scene.Go early, prepare to wait and save lots of money!There is a Taco Bell nearby for you to get breakfast while you wait :) Read Less

I have a cat that turned eight over the summer that was way past due to receive her vaccinations for the year. As with everything in Indianapolis, I was coming across vets in the area that were quite expensive. I was very hesitant to whip out over $100 on shots. So, I kept asking around and finally a friend of mine told me about the Low Cost Spay Neuter Clinic. She had been taking her small dogs there for awhile and told me it was incredibly cheap. I then checked out their prices online and was in awe. Affordability! For cat vaccinations, you can't make an appointment ahead of time, so I just had to show up and potentially wait in line for however long it took. Luckily the day I chose - a Saturday - wasn't very busy and I was able to get my cat in pretty quickly. The process was smooth and efficient. Her receiving her vaccination literally took about two minutes total. They were careful with her and I was impressed with the whole process. No, it's not a place that has all of the bells and whistles of a full service vet, but it's a great spot for things like -- going to get your pet's vaccinations. I highly recommend this place! Imagine my embarrassment when my sweet Master Splinter when ape shit as soon as we hit the door of the Low Cost Spay Neuter Clinic!  Talk about disturbing the peace!  Everyone waiting was super friendly and completely understanding of the fact that Splinter going wild.  Obviously we need to socialize him more with other dogs as suggested by the Humane Society.  But, I digress...  Fast, efficient, and sort of friendly  are the best describing words I can use for the clinic.  We were in and out in about half hour with a whole round of updated shots and a heart worm preventative.  The vet performing the shots isn't much of a talker but they were very busy seeing as it was Saturday so I'm sure she doesn't have all day.  The weekday hours are from 3:30-5 and Saturdays from 8-noon.  I was surprised we didn't have to wait long despite the crowd.  Worth waiting for the price, I would just suggest getting there early. used to love this clinic. I would recommend to it friends, family and anyone at the dog park! But after the unethical, vile, rude treatment I received today, I will NEVER send another person in the direction of this AWFUL clinic. They do wonderful and important work, yes. But the receptionists and admin that they employ are just appalling human beings with NO bedside manner. I just had a HORRIBLE experience with Low Cost Spay Neuter! I called to get one copy of my dog's heartworm and rabies paperwork to take to the groomer's and I said, "If I come pick those up in person, there's no charge, right?" And the woman said, "No, it's not free. It's $5" in a curt tone. I then told her, "No, I have picked up his rabies shot papers in person before and it was free. You only charge when it needs to be faxed." This woman argued, argued and argued some more with me and I finally asked to speak to her manager. This is when she went from rude to downright hostile. She said, "Well I'm the BUSINESS MANAGER and we're starting to get a bit busy so unless you have something else to say, I'm going to let you go." UNBELIEVABLE! So completely, unapologetically rude. So I decided to immediately look for a new vey and I called CASTLETON PET CLINIC and asked them if that paperwork was necessary to become a new patient. I also explained to her that Low Cost wanted to charge me $5 and this lady was appalled. She said that is not standard practice.I hate to see such a important, fundamental part of our society hire the rudest, most under-qualified office workers. Very informative, friendly, professional, and well-educated staff.  Took my puppy here for her boosters and other immunizations.  She also was spayed here.  It is nice that they also have heartworm and flea medications available for purchase.  Overall, they are pretty efficient, but it still is an hour-long process in order to get vaccinations.  It's been pretty crowded every time I've been there.
