Arbor View is great! The staff were very congenial and they were very thorough. I took one of my snakes in and they had me fill out a firm for reptiles with lots of detailed questions about how I cared for him and they also asked a lot of questions during the exam. I felt like they were dedicating the exam time I paid for to my snake personally and didn't feel rushed. They also befriended my snake and I felt that they genuinely cared about animals. If I could rate this place a 0 I would! This is for anyone who has a rabbit & is thinking on getting them spayed or neutered! Please DO NOT come here. It all started when I got a call before surgery & they told me to fast my bunny, they can go into GI STATS, so I questioned this. The lady who calls before surgery’s apparently doesn’t even work in he office & didn’t know the call was for a rabbit. The day of his surgery they told me it went GREAT! When we got him his leg was COVERED in blood so he started cleaning himself. The next day we get a phone call asking “did you ice him, is his spot still oozing? I replied no one had informed me of this upon pickup! At that moment I looked where his surgery was preformed and it looked super SCARY! We had to then go back to the vet just to be told they wouldn’t stitch it up Incase of infection. The next day it was even worse! It became 100% OPEN! Back to the vet we go, they still didn’t close the opening, at this point now they decide he should have a cone.... why didn’t he have one the first day if they knew he was oozing? Also the way they prefer mode the surgery was the most painful way. They did a scrotal neuter on him, vs a pre scrotal which is less painful & only would have had 1 incision. They usually make a small incision above the area and pull them up & out. Instead they cut each sack & pulled them out! This takes 10xs longer to heal & is more painful for rabbits. I have contacted the House Rabbit Society & they agreed that this vet doesn’t have enough practice in bunnies, or they would have preformed the surgery as a pre-scrotal. Now my poor babies private is bruised and he is in nothing but pain. We will be going to a different vet. Please don’t go here if you own bunnies & want the best possible care for them🙏🏻💕 Read Less

My fiance and I are animal lovers. We went to an animal shelter and adopted 2 rabbits. One was acting strange so I started calling vets. After the 3rd one I talked to suggested Arbor view I decided to call them. I explained to them what was going on and they had me come in right away. They were very friendly and nice. Unfortunately the bunny was very sick. But the whole staff was kind and respectful. I've called a few times and asked questions on raising the other bunny. they killed my dog. i had a great dane and after a medical emergency i rushed her here, after 2 hours wait with my suffering dog they figured out the x-ray machine was broken. i quickly rushed my dog to hobart and found out her stomach was flipped. if the actions of the first hospital were faster she would still be with us today. additionally, i love in the subdivision behind the hospital and they have dogs out all day in the 90 degrees weather on hot concrete and all they do is bark. disgusting place, i hope they go out of business! Having just moved to this area I wasn't familiar with any vets. I've been incredibly happy with the care and attention given to my dogs. The staff are professional, friendly, informative and clearly have a love of animals that shows in every interaction I've had with them. They encourage you to bring your pets in for "visits" with staff so that your pet grows comfortable and isn't afraid. They dote on my dogs and give them so much attention and love when they are there. We brought our leopard gecko there this morning because he wasn't eating and getting skinny. They took him to the back to look him over. Brought him back half dead, if not dead for he hasn't moved. They were extremely rude. Lectured us on the temp of the cage etc. We told them that there is another gecko in the same cage who is plump and healthy. The rudeness was uncalled for. I haven't brought my pets here YET. After horrors with Hobart animal clinic ever been looking for a new vet. My mom has(d) a large dog she couldn't get to the vet and they were onsite in a few days to help. Sadly the dog passed today, she called Hobart and the answer to "can you please help pick my dog up" (my mom is in her 60s and the dog is 130#) the reply was "maybe in a day or two". Arbor View was there in 30 minutes and there was true compassion from those onsite. No payment, nothing about payment until ashes are returned. I personally thank you and your staff for this. I travel for work and wasn't able to be around today as I'm In Houston. I can't wait to bring my two boys to a new dr who actually cares and isn't a factory to just get paid. Read Less

We got our cat from the shelter and we're recommended to take her to this animal hospital for her initial check up and spay. We were requested to bring in a fecal sample at the time of her check up. We did that and after everything was done, spay included. We find out our cat is extremely infested with worms! Literally any kind of worm you could think of. How on earth did we give them a fecal sample and have them do a surgery without ever noticing this?! Never going back to this place. I had to wait a bit but it was worth it. The level of concern and care and niceness given to the pets and the owners is exceptional! They really spend quality time with each of their patients. My cat had been suffering from redness all around and in her eyes with a goopy and sometimes bloody discharge on and off for 6 months. She was miserable. Took her to Arbor View and everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. After running some tests, my cat was found to have an ear infection and food allergies! They gave antibiotics for her ear infection and switched her food. Within 3 days sheer cleared right up and is feeling great. So thankful I took her here and will never go anywhere else!!! We took our sick hedgehog here. Everyone was very kind, courteous and helpful. The vet was very knowledgable and spent quite a bit of time with my little hedgehog friend. She was gentle and patient and took time to explain a lot of things about animal care and about what to expect from my hedgehog in the years to come. I had a great experience and would definitely take any of the other 44 animals I own here. They even called the day after my appointment to check on my hedgehog to see if administering the medicine was going ok. That was nice too. As for the price, I expect what I paid was about average for an exotic small pet visit with an RX for antibiotics. I actually expected to pay more than I did as a first time patient. After adopting a lab/pointer dog, we took it here immediately for a routine check up.  The veterinarian seemed very pushy and misdiagnosed my dogs chipped tooth.  She quickly told me it would be $700 to get the tooth taken out because the dog would have to be put to sleep for the operation.  In a panic, I got a second opinion from The Arc of the Dunes in Chesterton.  There, the veterinarian told us there was not even a sign or symptom of any tooth chipping.  Not only did Arc of the Dunes save me $700, it was also way cleaner, staff was polite, and knowledgeable.      The decor of Arbor View is old and dingy.  The front staff is rude at times, and I believe they tried to rip us off because we were new pet owners.  Very dissatisfied! As of today my pets will no longer be going here! The girl that works for me is a single mother of four and yesterday she told me her cat was ran over in front of her Children and she took it here not knowing what to do! They told her they could operate and it would be near $2000.00 which of course she could not do and the cat was in bad shape and they don't promise anything. In the end they said she owed them $399.00 for the exam and putting their poor pet to sleep. They called her three times at work here wanting their money and also told her she will need to pay an additional $265.00 for checking for rabies and sending it to the state which they said is the law when putting the animals down. She explained her situation about her finances and raising four minors on her own and asked if they would give her a break and they flat out refused! She had to get a friend to let her borrow her credit card to pay the entire bill so they would quit calling her! I came from out of county and was very nervous about switching vets. I've now been a client for over 10 years and couldn't be happier. The doctors, techs, reception, and all support staff treat my girls like they are just as important to them as they are to me. I was also ecstatic that they aren't breed prejudiced. I've run into some vets that refuse to treat my girls because they are pitbulls, Arborview has never discriminated and treat them as the loving pets they are. We also recently had a major orthopaedic issue with one. We were directed to the most appropriate care, they follow up continuously, and have been there for all questions. They know our dog quite well, and she is clearly happy to be there each time we board her or bring her in for a check up. I take my pets to Arborview Animal Hospital. There are competant, knowledgeable, and caring veterinarians there.. My son's lizard, Zack, was showing signs of not being well. I took him there and the infection was quickly diagnosed. Antiobiotics took care of the problem in 7 days, My son is happy as Zack if moving around again. The desk staff is efficent and cordial.. They of course see dogs and cats; but they welcome exotic animals--snakes, lizards etc. Just take your unusal pets to Arborview when you need a veterinarian. Read Less

Dr. Mejeur is an excellent vet.  We have a Westie with horrible allergies, and he knows exactly how to treat him.  He has a dog with allergies, too, so he knows what he is doing.  He is extremely talkative, so don't expect a quick visit, but it is clear from the conversation that he is an expert on dogs and dog allergies.  He has lots of advice on training, too.  I highly, highly recommend him.
