I liked some of the staff, but there were a couple of doctors whom I had expected to be more experienced with handling the death/terminal diagnosis of a pet. I had gone in with my cat who was old and struggling and although I had been prepared for bad news, I had not expected the reaction that I received. After scans, I heard through the closed door (between the doctor and a woman who I assumed to be a vet tech / assistant), I was hearing comments like "wow, I don't know how to handle this type of situation", "how do i tell her", and "this is the worst case I've seen in a while" (albeit not exact quotes, I was emotional and can't remember the precise wording). After a few minutes the doctor came in and told me she had cancer that had spread pretty far. I understand that it is a very difficult and stressful job, but I wish they would have realized that they don't have the thickest walls and broken the news to me more respectfully. Read Less

I will never bring my dog here ever again. My boyfriend slipped on our hardwood floor and accidentally landed on my puppies leg. She was in a lot of pain and couldn’t put weight on her leg. Hamilton Crossing is open until 4pm on Saturdays we got to the hospital at 3:40pm. After telling the receptionists what happened they said the doctor just left and they couldn’t help us at all. We walked out of the animal hospital got in our car and then we saw the vet walk out of the building and get in his car right next to ours.....I guess getting off work 20 minutes early was more important to all of them. I’ve been taking my baby (Pekingese) here for 11 years. He pulls me to get inside. I’ve seen each of the Dr’s multiple times over the years and each one is kind, understanding and helpful. Great place to take your furry friends! We have two dogs (a Maltese mix and a Doberman/whippet mix) and a cat (short hair American) we take here for all our services. They do a great job at grooming! Have flexible appointment times. We've board the dogs here a few times too with no issues (other than our dogs missing us!) Dr Frasier is great! Super friendly and they always follow up to make sure the animals are still doing well a day or two after any visit. Read Less

Grooming- I have not used the vets, however I took my dog frequently for grooming. She always looked great after and they always listened to my requests. They were great about fitting in appointments and giving reminder calls. Read Less

I've been taking my dog to Hamilton Crossing Animal Hospital since 2011, when he needed an emergency tail amputation. It was a difficult surgery that saved my dog's life. Over the years, we've been seen by both Dr. Eric Frazer and Dr. Stephen Hadley, who are both excellent. (We haven't met Dr. Michelle Quigley yet). We keep going back to Hamilton Crossing because of the kindness and care we experience every visit. They have made lifelong customers of us. We took our family dog, Cindy Lou, to Dr. Frazier for years and when that dreadful day came where we had to euthanize her... they wanted to charge me an extra $160 dollars just sit with her while they were putting her to sleep and at that time we couldn't afford it, needless to say that was the most heartbreaking day of my life and I WILL NEVER GO BACK! SHOWS HOW MUCH THEY CARE ABOUT THE WELL BEING OF ANIMALS. MAKES ME SICK. THEY'RE JUST MONEY HUNGRY. I wish I would have just took Cindy back home but she was very sick and in a lot of pain, having seizures every day. I will say It's a beautiful facility. Everyone else is nice that I noticed. While I was in there with my cat I saw a rep walk in and the girls up front were so completely rude to them. It made see what their true colors really were. Then proceeded to talk about the rep as they drove away. Very unprofessional. Being in the business for several years I did not like seeing this. This was our family vet. Took our lab in for x-rays...front legs giving out some and was in some pain. After many hours, HCA finally called to let us know our lab was having trouble coming out of anesthesia. We were asked to leave him there longer. Several hours later, they called and said we needed to immediately get him to an emergency vet. We got there and found that our dog was on a a stretcher and in distress! They had let him lie like that all day hoping he would "come out of it". We got him immediately in the car. One of us drove and the other needed to remain in the back of the SUV to keep him in place because he had no control over his body. During our drive, HCA had the audacity to call and chew me out because we didn't stop to pay for the x-rays. I explained that we were trying to get our dog to the emergency veterinarian and could they please send me a bill. She said that I needed to pay while I was on the phone because they did a service, and we had not paid. I'm lying in the back of an SUV with an animal in distress and had to read my credit card information to them! This has been almost a year ago, and I'm still upset over it! They sent a dog out in total distress...we NEVER heard from them again. They never called to check on him or anything! Definitely NOT a caring oriented environment! If you need emergency veterinary care I HIGHLY recommend VCA Animal Hospital on 96th street. They saved our dog's life!! Read Less

We brought home a little dog from the Southside Shelter and along with him was a free visit from a choice of listed vet's.  We chose Hamilton Crossing since it was Northside.  When I looked at the Doctors listed, I noticed that Dr Hadley was there.  We had used him for our 2 dogs many years ago when he ran Meadowbook Clinic and we lived in the area.  I called and made the appointment mentioning that I wanted his nails filed.  I asked for the price and she said $10.The hospital is a new facility, very beautiful and clean.  The staff was kind and helpful.  Dr Hadley was very thorough with the examine and answered the list of questions that I asked.  I told him that Buster had all his shots, microchipped & nutered but was scratching his ears and I wondered if he had mites. Then he took him to a back room to file his nails.  When he came back he told me that Buster did have ear mites and he treated him.  I was glad when he told me it was taken care of  ---but I was surprised that he didn't discuss w/me first.  I was more surprised when I checked out and my bill was $23 for nails and $56 for treating his ears.  $79 was alot different than $10 which I expected.All in all this is a great facility and knowing Dr. Hadley from previous yrs, he's a good vet. Dr. Frazier and his staff have always provided excellent care and a truly caring attitude towards my dog Lexi. Prices are always fair and they make you feel like your pet is the only one they care for. I have 2 dogs, and one is an anxiety-ridden Australian Cattle Dog who has serious fits going to the vet. I went in for shots and a check up last week, and was very impressed with Dr. Eric. Him and his staff were able to take care of all my problems with ease. Dr. Eric was able to recommend some medication for my anxiety ridden dog, and the pricing was very reasonable. I have been to many vets who have had problems with my cattle dog, and these guys handled it like professionals. Highly recommend! Read Less
