Recently moved to Zionsville and after today I think I’ve found our official vet. Everything about this place is well thought out, they are not trying to push unnecessary services on you and the staff is super friendly, responsive and thorough. 100% recommended. Read Less

We took two cats in for shots. Love the fear free concept (cats and dogs have separate entrances and waiting rooms). The technician was very calming - both cats were at ease in minutes. We were finished in less than 30 min. Nice to see kittens and cats up for adoption too. They do good work here. Read Less

This review is actually 0 stars, but it won't let me leave a review unless I click on a star. At 5:40 pm earlier this week, I discovered that my 17 year old dog had collapsed on my kitchen floor and was laboring to breathe. At 5:45, I called this clinic because I live less than a mile away and could be at their office in less than five minutes. I explained that I thought that my dog was dying and was afraid that she might need to be euthanized and that I could be there immediately. The woman who I was speaking with rudely informed me that the office was closing in 5 minutes and that they couldn't help me. As a result of their refusal to help me, I had to drive through rush hour traffic (slowly due to traffic volume) to another vet outside of Zionsville and my poor girl had to suffer 45 minutes longer than she would have if these people would have cared enough to help her. Apparently, quitting time is way more important to the staff at this clinic than helping dying animals. Read Less

I have worked for Dr.Shari and she is an excellent Dr,but is quick to fire staff with no compassion or warning.She should train staff accordingly and not fire staff without training them properly.I feel like I had no chance to get fully trained.This clinic is not family oriented.I havenot once been written up or had an idea that the job I was doing was not up to the clinics standards.Worst team leader with no mercy. I love the care and attention my canine family members receive at Zionsville Country Veterinary Clinic! Cali Bear and Taila Mae are always treated like they are the most important patients they have....even though I know they treat everyone like that. I love that when we walk in the door my dog is welcomed by name there very personal! When I first got Chesedh the vet took the time to ask many questions about our life style the plan for our dog so she could have the best understanding to know which medications are the best for her long-term for flea & tick and heartguard. We also you're able to make a plan for all of her puppy shots at her first appointment so I knew what to expect for the next two months. Love them!!! Read Less

I've taking my dog and cat to this vet three times and I've decided to stop since realizing most vets don't take your animal to the 'back room' to do their shots/services. I went to another zionsville vet where they do all the shots and services right there in front of you. Just makes me feel better in this day and age when you just can't be too sure about anything. We have been bringing our pets, both dogs and cats, to Zionsvllle Country Veterinary Clinic for years. The doctors and staff are all highly trained and have the best interest of our pets at heart. They really do want our pets to have the best life possible. If you have any questions or don't understand something, ask. They will explain things until you are comfortable with the answers. I have read several reviews here complaining about the cost; I would ask this: Where do you go that medical care is not expensive? Sure there are low-cost clinics around, but you get what you pay for. How do you think they keep the cost down? They use old and sometimes questionable supplies, and hire people who are only looking for a paycheck and don't really care about what kind of job they do. Well, here they care. They give us a written estimate before anything is done and let us know if something unforeseen comes up that changes that estimate. They have worked with us and even take Care Credit for those really big bills. They give gold standard care and I'm willing to pay for that. Read Less

Misleading cat owners to think they are only removing a "claw". They are actually amputating the cats toes! This disfigures the way the cat walks and leads to behavior problems, including avoiding the litter box. Please remind yourself of your oath to heal animals. Thank you. Read Less

This is the best vet I have ever found for my dogs!!  Dr. Shari won the Indiana Veternarian of the Year award for 2015.  If you take your dog(s) for annual checkups and their shots, you will realize that they are VERY reasonably priced!  (All vets are expensive)  They will even help you save money by showing you rebates on medicines, etc.  They take their time with your pet and get to know them and make friends and don't rush it.  They even encourage you to just stop by and say Hi! and get a treat for your pet so they relax on the premises when you do have an appointment. You can't just buy a dog, go to walmart, buy the 10$ 50lb bag of food and think well thats it. It doesnt work that way. We have had two dogs over the last 16 yrs and took both to ZCV. The staff is superb and yes, good vet care is not cheap and if you care for your animal is not where you want to cut costs, if so, dont buy one. The service and vet care is amazing and we also take them to the ZCK next store, know our animals will receive the love and affection they deserve. Read Less

So thankful for this clinic, in so many ways. I have 2 cats and a dog. My dog is a 70lb mix and very old (almost 15years). I've taken him to this clinic for care since 2008. Some things can seem expensive, but not really when compared to other Zionsville area clinics. Plus, it's so worth it when I think of how well my pets are treated there. And that they have all the extra equipment/training to allow for all the additional avenues of care (like when you go from a GP to a specialist), but allowing me to be able to stay in one place, which I love the consistency of care. And, as I said...he's my buddy, so it's worth it to me. In the past year, he has had a lot of medical issues arise. Both the staff (CSRs/techs) and Vets have all been so kind and compassionate as the "nervous mom" is dealing with everything. Most recently, he has started having mobility issues, and getting weakness in his rear legs. This caused him to start stumbling when walking stairs and jumping on/off things (in cars, too) I started with laser therapy, which has helped a great deal. More recently, as symptoms worsened, Dr. Tragesser's recommended acupuncture, which she has the training and ability to perform. After the first session, he was bounding about like a puppy within 48hrs, and jumping heights with no concerns (Scared me to death, but he didn't fall like prior times.) It's brought spunk back to him in ways I didn't expect. I will always recommend this clinic to anyone, as I always know my own "babies" are in such good and caring hands.Read Less

Good service but expensive compared to some of the other veterinarians in the area. Very good place and very cautious however they want to always have your pet in for a follow up (which I understand) however it is very pricey to take a pet to the vet to have their ears looked into for a moment and be done. I moved here from Florida and had the best vet in the world there and knew no one could be nearly as good. I tried a couple and was right. But, when I found ZCV, I totally changed my mind! Dr Shari and all the other docs that we have seen have all been awesome! They mix in some eastern and holistic medicine when possible. And, don't try to run the bill up like some other places I've been. Pet care is expensive. Just like everything, you get what you pay for. I don't mind paying for the love that both my fur baby and I get when we go there. I had the unfortunate loss of my almost 16 year old Beag/Bassett mix after a really long hard fought attempt to move that date out. Dr Shari and Dr Rick both helped prolong her life by at least a few months and I appreciated it more than they can know. But, when that day came to put my baby down, the whole office was there to support me, comfort me and my poor girl. It's easy to take care of people in happy times. But, when someones heart is ripped into pieces, that is when you can really tell how people are in how they handle that. I assure you, each and every one of the fine folks at ZCV seriously treated Tanner like she was a part of their family. Everyone from the office to the techs and everybody in between that I came in contact with that day gave me a sincere hug with their condolences and all of them had tears in their eyes right along with mine. That is because they love what they do, they love animals in general and really do treat our pets like they are their very own. That is why I would never trust any of my remaining girls to anyone other than ZCV! And, if you are crazy about your pet, you shouldn't either! We had just moved to the area from out of state and decided to try them. They were great from the first phone call. Our dog had so much fun the next time we used them he ran to the front door wanting in and didn't seem a bit concerned that we were leaving him!! I will continue to use them even though it takes us about 20 minutes to get there because I don't have to worry about Charlie while he is there!! Read Less

After seeing debatzionsville's review, I feel that a response is in order. Zionsville Kennel employs 6 people full-time with an average employment of 3.9 years. The years of experience that Zionsville Kennel employees and owners have accquired through working with veterinarians, training, and pet boarding are probably higher than any in the industry. If an employee you are particularly fond of is not employed at the Kennel, there is a good reason for it. Kennels vary in lay-out, employees, security, safety, cost, cleanliness, social times, ect. Owners owe it to their pets to visit and tour a boarding facility to understand how the business works and meet the folks caring for their pets. The kennel is a great social experience for most pets. Some pets (and owners) do better in different situations. Northwest Indy is blessed with several excellent facilities, so we can go on vacation and not worry about our pets. Read Less

We have used Zionsville Country Kennel on and off for 2 years. Over the last 6 months or so the service has gone to the ""dogs""...and not in a good way. We have been there twice in the last 6 months (christmas and spring break) and both times we were less than impressed. It seems like they might have frequent turnover, as two of our favorite people to deal with were not there anymore (not sure of there names but the one at the kennel was a tall blonde girl, the other was at the vets). I used to feel very safe and secure with the staff, as they just knew how to ""read"" our dogs. They were always very helpful, and connected with the dogs, but it didn't seem like it the last couple of times. the owner (jill?) is very nice, and always friendly, and my dogs were safe and healthy, but it was not the same.
