Stay away, they just want your money. I had the worst experience here with Dr. Amy Olson after picking up my new cat from a shelter. My cat had a bladder infection, and Creature Comforts gave her a shot which fixed it. But then Dr. Olson asked me to buy not one but TWO types of painkillers. This cat is still getting familiar with me and is very stressed with all of the changes. I asked her how I was supposed to administer the painkillers to a new cat that wouldn't let me near it, and she just said "I have faith in you." Then she tried to upsell me and get me to buy a different band of urinary tract cat food, even though I was already giving the cat urinary tract cat food. I ended up spending $250 overall, on the shot, new food and painkillers. She also recommended I come back and spend $500 on a procedure to fix a cavity the cat had. I decided to never come back to this vet, and have since taken my cat to Starch Animal Hospital on a recommendation from the Animal Rescue League. I paid only $120 for the same procedure, and they also said my cat didn't have a cavity! Read Less

I took her to Creature Comforts and they did blood and urine tests on her and found out that her white blood count was extreamly high. They took her back for an emergency surgery (emergency spay) and found out that her uterus was so filled with infection that it had exploded. 1555 SE Delaware Ave
Ankeny Iowa 50021
Known for their attentive and dedicated veterinary support, the hospital has been serving the area for years. Every aspect, from exam room setup to patient check-in at Creature Comforts Veterinary Hospital in Ankeny, is designed to ensure each visit progresses intentionally while guiding pet wellness at a pace suitable for Iowa homes. Initial visits often begin in a low-distraction room, allowing the pet to explore or settle as needed. Staff members consider several factors such as the tail position, pawing behavior, and noise reaction. During a physical exam, veterinarians monitor aspects like coat health, pulse rate, hydration levels, jaw symmetry, gait, and the pet’s response to close proximity. Every detail matters when working with animals unfamiliar with the medical setting, or those that have experienced previous trauma and are difficult to handle. Creature Comforts Veterinary Hospital offers diagnostic services and surgery planning to wellness exams, mobility tracking and parasite prevention to breed-informed wellness forecasting. Care plans progress at the rate each pet responds to physical contact, routine adjustments, and clinic environmental signals like lighting conditions room transitions and sound levels. This is especially helpful for pets who do not like group settings or learn better through repeated practice. Follow-up appointments fit perfectly into each household’s lifestyle and are carried out in the comfort of their own home at a pace that is natural for the pet. Pet owners are empowered by the tool’s ability to provide comprehensive details and step-based reasoning for each decision. Creature Comforts Veterinary Hospital offers an approach to pet care called the “bond method,” which focuses on attention, rhythm, and understanding for visits to flow smoothly and naturally. Services include Orthopedic Surgery, Emergency Care, Bloodwork, Wellness Exams, Boarding, and much more. They cover all the bases, from basic wellness care to the advanced needs of sick pets. Pet owners value the team’s expertise, the caring way they communicate, and the clarity with which medical decisions are explained. Whether it is taking care of the senior pets or dealing with urgent health needs, they ensure that the same people are always involved for better interactions with the clients. The clinic also plays an important role in educating pet owners and advising them on the best strategies to maintain their animals’ health and well-being.
