This was the worse experience I have ever encountered with an emergency. Giving them a rating of 1 star is 1 star to many. HORRIBLE

Extremely disappointed. After going to this vet for 25 years, I tried to get my sick Yorkie in today for vomiting and diarrhea. I was told I could bring her in on Monday. . .the receptionist was extremely rude "if you needed a haircut, you wouldn't expect to call and get an appointment the same day." We now live in Florida and are here only in the summers and I haven't been to see him since 2014. I still cannot believe this experience! Read Less

I took my cat to this vet to be declawed, they told me I could pick him up two hours after his procedure. I thought this was very strange, but I did what they told me to do. I then asked about pain medication, the doctor told me it was a narcotic, and that he did not want to give me any for my cat because it would make him "groggy." I didn't think that would be an issue, I would rather have him a little out of it, instead of in pain. I returned home, my cat then jumped out of his carrier and all his bandages fell off and blood flew all over my house. He busted through all his stiches, and is not doing well. Do not take your pets here, they do not know what they are doing Read Less

I have known Dr OBanion both proffesionally and personally for over 23 years. He is knowledgable in his field and able to deli ver, to the best of his expertiece adequite and educated diagnosis. And if you should CHOOSE to follow his recommendation he is willing to do his best to see you and your pet through the necessary steps to do what is possible for your particular situation. He is not God. Nor is any doctor...but he is honest. Ihave seen his compassion keep him overnight in that office to personally oversee a sick animal.he is having some personal roadblocks at the moment (havent we all)? He has been vet to my many animal friends. One cat made it to 22. One to 19. One to 12. A sheltie to age 14 and now a doberman . These animals all had surgeries at one point or another. I suggest all of you people who are perfect enough to through the first stone...step up. The rest of you stop kicking your vet when hes down. Showa bit of support,, maybe even offer him a hand. Whats the matter with all of you?! Go to church and find out...thats an invite. Bring your pocket full of stones and lets see how many are righteous enough to cast them in Gods house. Shame on you. Very compassionate and caring veterinarian. Took care of our dog for 17 years (normal lifespan for that breed 13-14 years). Very reasonable fees. Their advertisement says: ""You???re always welcome at Bettendorf Veterinary Hospital; we hope that you will join us sometime"". Actually false advertising. They refused to provide a routine dental cleaning for our perfectly healthy cat because he is a senior and tests positive for FIV. This cat is a wonderful boy we rescued who is sweet and even charms people who don't like cats. He has been a loving member of our family for 6 years and we expect to have him around many more. He even has his own webpage and many local fans who are charmed by his rescue story of a feral who adopted us. FIV positive cats do not always develop the disease and can live long healthy lives. They also do not easily spread their disease. Our beautiful gentle giant is a wonderful example of this and likely he will be with us for years to come. He has never spread his disease to our other pets. Many of our cats have lived to 20+ under our care including one now who is 18 and has been with us most of her life. No thanks to vets like Dr. O'Banion. Read Less
