Our daughter takes her dog to Dr. Reilly and has been nothing, but pleased with the quality of care he provides. Last night our dog was sick and our vet did not have a time slot in order to see him. I called around to multiple other vets and animal hospitals around Cedar Rapids and got the same response. My daughter called Dr. Riley's office and they gave me a call back within 5 minutes. They said that even though they did not have an appointment time slot to put him in, they would try to fit him in. This was at around 5pm and they close at 6pm. We got there around 5:30pm and we did not get in until after 6pm, but that did not matter because Dr. Reilly stayed late in order to take care of our dog even though we are not his normal patient and he did an exceptional job. Took our cat in to this vet and by the end of the visit was very dissatisfied. Handled him like a piece of meat. First grabbed him by the scruff of the neck to pull him out of the carrier. I could of gotten him out a better way. Then he said if we get him a urine test that could tell a lot. So we did, and he didn't know anymore after the test then before. Then gave him shots and I was going to hold him. Nope the nurse literally pushed me out of the way to hold the cat. From my cat's point of view he didn't like this guy in the least and frankly neither did Ed & I. The 'doc' kept going on about his 32 years of experience and I didn't see no 32 years. All the 'doc' was worried about was getting bit. You handled me that way I would of went off on you too. Since Casper is our son and not just our pet, I wouldn't want my child handled like that. 15+years experience with this business. Dr Mark Reilly has cared for our 6 dogs, 2 elderly cats and a guinea pig over that time. We have boarded, groomed, vaccinated, spayed, neutered and sadly euthanized over the years with the supportive and loving care of Dr Reilly and his outstanding team. Excellent Caring Vet's Office! Had no idea this little gem was so close to our apartment. Took out cat in for bloody stool and quickly took necessary actions to help with the problem.
