Almost adequate... not very friendly. Our dog was showing obvious symptoms of a particular condition but nobody recognized it until we asked about it and practically ordered the tests ourselves. Not particularly trusting them... 6/13/2018 Update After Response From Business Owner: In the event they delete or edit their response, I'd like to point out that the business owner proceeded to violate Iowa law (Iowa Administrative Code Rule 811, Chapter 12, Paragraph 4) and posted confidential and privileged information including my dog's name, date of care, diagnosis, treatment plan, and progress and disposition of the case in a public forum without my consent. Privacy laws apply to animal care as well. There are specific laws that pertain to veterinarians regarding privacy, and this proves the unprofessionalism and vindictive behavior this so-called professional is capable of. They also lied in their response. Cooper has suffered from seizures his entire life and recently over a period of 4 months, gained over 20 pounds (his normal weight was just under 60 lbs). The doctor told my wife that he just needed to go on a diet and dismissed our concerns. After our insistence that they run the tests, it was found that his T4 levels were far below normal range. We also asked if thyroid imbalance would contribute to the frequency of seizures and were specifically told no. In their response to this review they're saying that they ordered the tests because of the seizures?? Laughable. For the fasting and no-med blood test, we were told to bring his meds so they could be given after the draw. Upon picking him up later in the day, I asked if the seizure meds were given. Nobody knew! Then someone said that they probably weren't. Mind-blowing! Meds that are to be given at specific times of the day to remain at therapeutic levels and they couldn't tell me if they were given!! I never was given the pleasure of a face-to-face with a doctor after the tests, but only a technician who evidently didn't know what he was talking about. As long as we've come to this point, please provide me with all medical records associated with my dog, Cooper by mail. You have my address and can mail it to me. One of my cats got sick recently and had me pretty worried. I Google searched for a clinic here in CR as the one I usually use couldn't get us in right away. They got us in that same morning. The staff was great and all seemed genuinely caring. They gave him fluids and some medicine, and he's back to his old self. Very reasonably priced as well. Read Less

I called and told them I had a coupon for a $1 wellness visit and I wanted to schedule that then she asked me what she needed to be seen for so I told her my dogs hips seem to be bothering her and she told me I couldn't use the coupon for that which is fine I get that but then I told her that I just wanted to get her seen for whatever the $1 covers and she said they couldn't do that because I already said her hips r hurting? I tried many times to get the exam for the dollar but she just kept saying they couldn't do that cause of her hips. Animal Care had been our provider of choice for over ten years. We recently had to let our 15 year old dog go and Animal Care and Dr. Graeff were helpful, compassionate, and handled it with us with Grace and caring. Dr. Graeff and his Staff are wonderful! We have been taking our Lab, Murphy to him for 7 years. If Murphy hears Dr. Graeff's name, he immediately gets super excited for his appointment! Doctor has been there for us when, Murph blew out his knee and had it surgically repaired and it devastated our children when we took him in, as Murphy was in severe pain. Dr. Graeff patiently answered my young children's questions about their hurt best friend. He reassured them that Murphy would be okay. I will never trust another office with my dog. Today I took my dog to the vet to be weighed I was not happy with dr. Graeff demeanor towards me and my dogs but as soon as he got behind closed doors he started yelling at his staff because they weren't utilizing the resources and their time correctly there is a time and a place for this and that would be called office meetings instead of belittling staff members in front of customers. Walked in there just get my dog weight and ended up paying $119 for everything else that was not needed this day. I believe that he was there just to make money and not care so much for my pet. Stay away from him ... Update 5-23-16 I received a phone call from Dr.Graeff stating he would like to apologise ...... Is this alright he asked me . I told him that I was very upset and looking for a new vet . Dr.Graeff stated that things where very busy on Saturday. I replayed that my dogs apt. Was on Friday. Dr.Graeff replay was well what ever the day was . At this point I stopped him and told him that if he was going to call and apologize to some one that he should know the facts and remember what happen that day at the very lease the date of occurrences Yep like I said before stay away from this vet for he is just in it for the money Read Less

Animal Care Hospital has been wonderful to work with. They are always helpful, smiling and caring. Their attention and care for our cat is outstanding and we are extremely sastified with the care he has received. It has always been easy to schedule with them or have questions answered over the phone. The staff also go above and beyond making our visits more personal, like when they let our three year old listen to our cat's heartbeat. We take our cat and our puppy here. The staff know our pets by name and are always friendly and welcoming. They happily answer all of our questions (and sometimes we have a lot), even when our appointment is near the end of the workday. I would recommend this vet to my friends and family! They guided us in determining the best health care strategy for our new family addition and helped identify a pet insurance policy to cover many of the new puppy treatments, immunizations and procedures anticipated.
