Wishing I could give this place 5 stars, but with the outrageous prices they charge, I can not. Back in Kansas City, I am used to paying $40 MAX for an exam and shots. Today I was charged $50 just for the exam (that lasted all of 5 minutes), $20 for a nail cut (when she only has back claws as her front are declawed), and $50 for shots. Dr. Holly was great and so was the vet tech. Care wise, this place is great but there is absolutely no way I can justify paying this much money in the future. Sad to say I will not be going back. I never feel stupid for bringing my dogs in for anything, and everyone is always so willing to help and answer my questions and make sure my dogs are healthy and well taken care of. Our dog needed emergency surgery to remove a blockage in her stomach. They got me in same day and the price was awesome! The staff are so nice and are patient to answer all questions. I never felt once that I was bothering them or being rushed out the door. They took amazing care of our dog, and because of that we will continue to use them as our primary vet. It was so great knowing I could leave our brand new puppy with them, and she would be well taken care of. The vet even gave me her personal number to call her after hours if we had any issues. My dog is a rescue who has been abused. Within the first year of owning him, he was severely attacked by another dog and needed surgery. He has been terrified of the vet ever since. He also had anxiety around new people, new dogs, and in new places. We worked with a great dog trainer (Amber Nelson of Ruff Life) and she helped our dog tremendously. She recommended we visit the vet once a week, then taper off until once a month. Our old vet seemed annoyed by these visits. We would bring him in, praise him and give him treats so he thought the vet was a positive place. After an especially bad experience at our old vet, we switched to Waukee-Clive Veterinary Clinic which is out of the way for us but it is so worth the drive! Every single employee is kind, patient, and understanding of our dog's unique situation. Even when we're just popping in to visit, the receptionist always comes out from behind the desk to say hi to the dog. Read Less

Can't say enough how much we appreciated the compassion and warmth of the staff. Our beloved 16-year-old tabby was sick and they called several times to check on him after our initial visit, explained things thoroughly and prepared us for the tough choices ahead. This place is wonderful! I can't say enough about the staff and how compassionate they were towards our family after having to make the difficult decision to put our 14 year old Shiba to sleep. They are respectful as well and took the time to go over our options and what to expect. They also called multiple times to check on our family.
