Very clean vet hospital with sweet staff members--both front desk receptionists and vet techs/vets. This was (to my knowledge) the only vet hospital that has an avian specialized veterinarian in the local area. The two vets that my fiancee and I have seen seem very knowledgeable of what they do, and there's little beating around the bush. I just switched to Animal Family after going to another Veterinary Clinic for many years. I felt the service was really going downhill and decided to give this place a try with our new puppy, Ike. When the bird passed inspection, but died three weeks later, Dr.Kathy went above and beyond the call of duty, offering to do an autopsy free of charge, hoping to lessen my young daughter's grief at her bird's death. I took my bird there for over 4 yrs they trimmed his beak. They just want to charge you way too much for everything. I would not recommend this place, also beware and research what your pets truly need. Don't let them suck you in with crap that will make your pets sick! For yearly exam, two shots and blood work; they charged me so much. I used to pay less, and can't understand for the life of me how they bill comes out high. They refuse to explain anything. We found another vet, and I recommend many of y'all to do the same!!! Top notch care for all animals. We happen to have our 2nd dog now in their care. We get his yearly exams here as well as emergency care (hopefully not needed very often ). This is also the first place we call when we need a place for him to stay when we can not take him along with us. We know he will be in good hands! If you have the chance to let your dog attend their daycare, DO IT! Our boy had the best time and we so looked forward to the daily pictures posted of him playing in the yard with all his new friends. We are new to the area and were attracted to the care center for all of the services they provide.  We used them for boarding our 2 dogs when we went away for the weekend.  Everything seemed to go fine.  Our one dog has pretty severe seizures so having him at a vets office was a comfort.The next visit we had one dog in surgery to remove a couple large lumps and our seizure boy was kenneled for a day to let our girl recover.  They filled one of the 2 seizure meds in the clinic and i gave them the instructions on how much meds and when he gets them.  the next day I called  back to ask if he could stay one more night as our girl was still in quite a bit of pain and our guy is very rowdy when he plays with her (we were worried about getting her stiches torn out by him when playing).They were very wiling to keep in another night.  While on the phone i reminded them that they may need to pull a few more pills off the shelf to get him through the next 24 hours.  They stated that would be no problem.Now, our guy has almost died twice because he gets seizure clusters and he has been hospitalized twice - once for a month to get them under control (our old vet kept him as a "charity" case meaning he did it for free to try and save him).I went to pick our boy up after work and was charged for 3 days, when he was there for 2 and i had already paid for one! They did fix that after the fact.However, when i asked for his meds back the lady went to the back and didn't come back for like 10min.  When she did come back she informed me that they hadn't given him any of his meds since the day he was dropped off (two days ago).  Our guy has gone into clusters before when his meds were late by a few hours.  so of course I was scared and pissed!how could they NOT give prescribed medicine (that they prescribed him) for 2 whole days!  that's 8 missed doses of seizure meds!!!!I don't know if he had any seizures while there but when he did come home his eyes are very swollen (common occurrence for him after seizures), and still are the next day.  He could barely keep one eye open because it was so swollen he was extremely tired and has been a little "distant" from us.I can't tell you how upset we are from the lack of attention they have given to our guy.  I don't know that we will go back - however our girl has a surgery follow up she needs so we may go back for that.  but going forward I just don't know Read Less

These people really care for all animals,  not just dogs and cats!  They even take hamsters,  snakes  and  birds, giving them the same care and attention as any dog or cat! They  have spacious boarding for not only dogs but for cats,  one of the only veterinary practices that do.  Their cat condos gives my Patches plenty of room to roam,  providing one area with bedding connected to a separate are with a litter box. There is also a skilled attendant present at all times,  unlike most boarding kennels in this area. Their unique doggie day camp is a real winner with both pets and their people!  A large outside area filled with toys,  climbing hill and kiddie pools provides lots of play options, supervised by a trained vet tech.  Dogs can attend from 7am to 6pm, and are placed into small groups by size and temperament. Dr. Kathy is so caring, energetic, knowledgeable, and friendly.  I really enjoy having her as a vet and highly recommend her. I'm also pleased with the clinic staff who also seem very professional and courteous.  In fact,  they were running behind my appointment time (as often happens with the medical profession) and the staff apologized for making me wait. I really appreciated this consideration and acknowledgement that my time is important too. ive been to animal family numerous times and im impressed with their up to date knowledge and technology. my only complaint is that i find their staff very rude and pushy. if i declined a procedure or testing, they made me feel like a bad person. their front desk people are generally not friendly at all and dont even seem to enjoy their job. ive gone to other vets other times just so i dont have to deal with their unfriendly staff. i expect to wait when im at a vet, but the wait in the waiting room is unnecessarily long, then you meet with the tech, then wait in the actual exam room for even more time. i understand that you get what you pay for, but i think their prices are a bit high for some things. $40 plus just to walk through the door is a bit much when your pet has a simple problem such as an ear infection. i recommend going to bell animal hospital for shots and quick fixes. I sought out care of the vets at this clinic after having a bad experience at another facility I'd been referred to.  I was impressed with the thorough history gathered, the information shared regarding recommendations for comprehensive parasite (and more) protection and complete facility tour.  The vet tech took a picture of my kitten for identification purposes and also of her injured paws (the reason for our visit).  When the vet came in, he was reassuring, compassionate and seemed like a pediatrician for pets.  The office visit cost was less than I'd expected and been quoted by other facilities.  I think I'd even use their boarding facilities for my kitten if the need ever arose.  After a bad experience with a referral elsewhere, I see the value in sharing information like this after a great experience! I would highly recommend Animal Family Veterinary to anyone.  We have a dog and cats and I think they've done a great job with both.  They have been able to squeeze us in when we had emergencies.Also, they have a doggie day camp that our dog loves.  He's able to run around and play and we don't have to worry about leaving him home alone stuck in the house all day.  He comes home exhausted and he gets the socialization he both needs and wants.  Also, the vet herself called us to follow up on a treatment of our cat on Christmas Eve.  I think that says a lot about how much they care!  I can't say enough good things about Animal Family Vet center. I actually work at Animal Family, mainly with the boarders and campers. Reading these reviews makes me so proud to be a part of the team. We really do all have a special love for animals. When I started working there, I would ask coworkers if they had any kids, most responded with the names of their pets :) We recently discussed at a meeting how its so hard for our dogs to get the proper exercise they need when we are working all day, and when we come home from work tired and ready to cuddle up with our furry friend/s, they are up and ready to play because they've been snoozin all day (or chewing up our shoes). If you are someone who can relate, I would highly recommend camp k9. You fill out an evaluation on your dog, and our camp k9 team member fills one out as well, and based on those they are introduced to animals one at a time that they would play well with. From there they are playing all day, and when you get off work and come pick them up, they are ready to come home and snuggle with you. Also if you want to see how your dog did you can check out our facebook because camp photos of the dogs are being taken all day and are posted in the morning and afternoon I swear by this because I have a yellow lab, with an overwhelming amount of energy. I've recently started bringing her to camp and she isn't restless at night anymore. When I pull up to work she lets out these crazy yelps of excitment and pulls me straight to the camp yard! Even if you just want to try it out. Its like 6 bucks for 2 hours, and I believe there is some kind of ""campers first day"" free pass, but i'm not positive about that, so dont hold me to it!! or even stop by for just a tour to see everything we offer at Animal Family. I recently was given a ferret by a friend of a friend who no longer could keep it. The first thing I did was go to the local pet store and ask where they took their ferrets for treatment and was recommended to Animal Family. When I called they were extremely pleasant and scheduled an appointiment for early the following week. We had very little wait time when we got to the office. Milo was given a great examiniation and given all the basic shots a ferret needs. Dr. Kathy then walked me through the common mistakes ferret keepers tend to have and what to watch for health wise. The following day she even called to check on Milo and see how he was doing. Our boys (dogs), Levi & Pepper are always looked after by our vet, Dr. Kathy and groomer, Kimberly at the Animal Family Veterinary Care Center. Dr. Kathy personally calls even weekends to discuss a test or lab result and some options. Additionally, she follows up on those options or action plan. This is extremely important to us since our older dog is 13 years old and diabetic. Her care and respect for our boys is wonderful. She goes above and beyond but most importantly?.she loves her job and it shows. The hours and services offered are outstanding. Dr. Kathy has even seen Shelby, our turtle. They are open 6 days on weekdays up to 6pm, 7pm and 8pm and from 8am to 2pm on Saturday so I never have problems booking around my schedule. They also have grooming in house and daycare, which is helpful if you need to drop your dog off for something and go to work. Kimberly, groomer is superb with Pepper. Her patience and loving manner won Pepper over the first time that they met. As well, she accommodates her schedule for Pepper?s unique needs. The entire staff is genuine animal lovers. The front desk staff is first-rate. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and they are always friendly and accommodating. They all treat your pets as family members and always refer to them by their names. They operate an emergency service and keep you updated when your pet needs vaccines. My dog absolutely LOVES coming to the vet! Dr. Scott is fabulous in his care of our Basset Mix and in communicating with clients. We have been receiving vet care, boarding and grooming services here for over 5 yrs. They seem to have a special soft spot for rescues. :) I have receommended this veteranarian to our neighbors and they have received fantastic results from the clinic as well, even through an unusual surgery saving them driving time, extra dollars and the frustration of the many unsucessful tests from their previous vet.
