Best experience we could ask for! The staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We brought our Shiba Inu in after exhausting other advice on her allergies was unsuccessful. Thanks to them, our Ginger is in full recovery and it's like she is a different dog! No more itching constantly and is back to being playful. I can't thank you enough! Best pet clinic around. Excellent staff. We had to take our beloved Spencer there this week. Without the excellent care im not sure he would have made it. He is a coton de tuler 10 yrs old and was so very sick. We still are keeping a close eye on him and using the meds and id food but thanks for the help Riordan staff. Especially dr. Charles! Riordan's was good for regular check ups and giving vaccinations. But when my 4 month puppy broke her leg she ended up going through additional suffering as well as us spending hundreds of dollars more in visits and an ER trip. When she was splinted for the broken leg we suggested she have a cone put on so she could not mess with the splint. The doctor disagreed, weeks later she's rechecked and we suggest again then for a cone because she had picked at her splint and gotten an infection in her toes. Our suggestion was still disregarded and they gave her an even more ridiculous wrap around her waist for the splint. Less than a week after receiving this she ended up in the ER because the wrap around her waist had bit into her leg and the skin their had rotted and died so she is now recovering from a broken leg and stitches. And all of this could of been avoided if our vet would have heeded our suggestion and put a cone on her. The vet showed no real remorse or responsibility for what happened to our dog so they will no longer be getting our business. I could never trust them again to look at one of my pets. Read Less

Thank you Dr. Garton and staff for the excellent care you gave my Buster. You were kind and sympathetic to the very end of his life. I will miss him always. I just moved to DSM area in March. Wasn't sure what I was gonna do for vet care. Riordan was suggested to me. My dog ended up needing to have a tumor removed. Dr. Garton did the surgery. I could not be happier with the outcome. The entire staff at Riordan is compassionate about their jobs. I have found my vet as long as I live in the DSM area. i, like all pet owners, hate taking my pet to the animal doctor, especially when they are hurt or sick.  The vets at Riordan Pet Hospital are always great with my animals.  Chuck Riordan was super compassionate when my cat was diagnosed with a brain tumor.  He spent a lot of time with me, discussing losing pets, discussing options, and, most importantly, telling me that it was my choice when to put him to sleep, that I knew him best, and that I would know when the right time came, regardless of what anyone else thought.  It was a wonderful, terrible experience.  I recommend this pet hospital to all of my friends with animal family members. We brought in our German shorthaired pointer who had stitches put in several days prior at a different vet. We were concerned about his healing progress and wanted to have him checked out. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating on short notice. We love Riordan's! They are so great with our dog, and the office staff is always so nice and welcoming. Anytime we've had a problem with our dog, the vets find the cause right away. We've seen each vet in the office and they are all terrific. And they don't charge an arm and a leg! We'd never go any place else! Read Less

When I was in town with my dog, he got an infection and I took him here.  Everyone was helpful, nice and gave thorough explanations - from the receptionist to the doctor (Dr. Olds, if I remember correctly) and the cost seemed very reasonable.  It was great to find such a place on the first try.
