I dont even want to give one star. This clinic is nothing but mo ey hungery people! My poor lab was playing catch over a month ago n a Piece of the stick got cought in his throut... for over a month we kept taking him back n they wouldnt do a xray or nothing he had a bubble of puss in his throut that wouldnt go away. They just kept putting him on different doses of meds. Finely i took him to clinton vet clinc where they cut him open the next morning n took out a stick that was 3" long!!!! How do u not feel that or even think of looking!!! Never again will i take a pet to dewitt!! After paying over 500$ in meds for nothing!!!! We use to take our dogs to Petco to get groomed while we lived in Davenport. Now that we live in De Witt we decided to find some place closer and we are very happy with our choice. They do a great job and charged us way less than Petco did. My labradoodle is one happy dog with a fresh hair cut for this summer heat. Plus my wife liked the bandannas they put on them.Read Less

I was watching my neighbors two dogs when Sarah became very ill. We took her to the Dewitt vet clinic.They saw she was in distress and got her on oxygen, did blood work, took x-rays.They found a mass on her spleen which was probably cancer. She passed with in a couple hours.The vet and the tech were very compassionate and did their best to make Sarah comfortable. Also helped me to understand what was happening at each stage. Our mini pig had an issue with his upper eyelids rolling in, causing his lashes to lay directly on his eye. DeWitt Vet Clinic, the veterinarians and staff performed entropian surgery on both eyes and now the lashes are away from his eyes, he doesn't have to squint, and his overall comfort has improved 10-fold. I can't thank them enough for the kindness, compassion, and care they took of our beloved Frank Swineatra. He is well on the road to recovery and it's so nice to, once again, see those baby blue eyes!! Thank you to each and every one of you who played a role in Frank's surgery. We love you guys!! I have 5 dogs that have always received excellent care at DVC and believe me, they're a handful. They've had everything from surgery to remove a blockage to routine teeth cleaning and I've NEVER had an issue. I recommend them to everyone, they go out of their way to accommodate my dogs and they'll do the same for yours. Read Less

Took amazing care of my dog and cat. Wasn't nervous to leave them in their care at all. The small animal vet has a real passion and love for animals and you can tell by how he interacts with them. Great facility and was so nice and clean. Felt very comfortable there.Read Less

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PETS! I went to this clinic for years for my animals vaccines. I trusted this vet clinic. WHAT A MISTAKE THAT WAS! On the 4th of july 2014 my dog, Lexi, who was my best friend got hit by teens in front of my house. We rushed her to this dewitt vet clinic where there was a doctor on call. Lexi was hurt very bad and the doctor had to stitch together the pad on her foot that was ripped off. The doctor did Xrays and said "She doesn't have any broken bones. She is just sore. " Lexi could not walk, we had to carry her. He sent us home WITHOUT ANY PAINKILLERS FOR HER! The next morning Lexi was worse, she still couldn't stand and hadn't urinated at all. i decided to take her to the Eastern Iowa Veterinary Specialty Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After arriving at the clinic in cedar rapids the doctors came outside and put her on a table and wheeled her into the facility. They took Lexi in for xrays right away. They were appalled by the service at dewitt vet clinic. Lexi's lower spine was broken in pieces. Her pelvis was shattered and separated from her spine. The gaps in the breaks were so large that they wouldn't have healed back together. Lexi was in so much pain that it broke my heart. I had to make the decision to put her down. My Lexi died in my arms. The Eastern Iowa Veterinary Specialty Center was able to send Lexi to get cremated and returned to me in an oak urn. Friends that come over will place there hand on the urn and tel lexi was a good girl she is. Lexi was a friend to many people not just me. She was an amazing caring dog. The doctors at the Dewitt vet clinic are incompetent. Do not take you pets to the dewitt vet clinic. Don't make the mistake I did. You will regret it. Read Less

Tonight a family grieves at the shocking loss of their 10 month Dalmatian puppy. A dog they left in your care after carrying him into the office and then being pushed out the door because it was time for you to go home. A dog they brought back repeatedly only to be told nothing was wrong. They grieve because you didn't even try to help. Repeatedly, they sought the advise of other pet owners and breeders and several shared experience of identical symptoms with diagnosis of bowel obstruction--go back people said....advocate for your dog. So they did. They came to you afraid, distraught and most importantly...trusting. Trust was placed in your knowledge and skill and you let them down. You failed the animal. You failed to alleviate suffering. Tonight a family with young children grieves with hearts broken because their beloved pet is gone. Gone too soon. I have a friend who's beautiful Dalmatian died In your care today due to the negligence of your Doctor. For days this dog was suffering from an obstruction and emergency surgery was not performed. This beautiful puppy was left in your care and nothing was done to save his life. You call yourselves Doctors. I don't think so.
