From the secretary to the assistant and of course the doctors, everyone treats my furry babies and me like family. They always treat my calls with the utmost importance and urgency. There's never been a wait and they seem to think it's just ok that my kitties have to 'check out' every square inch of the room. No matter how high up they are. I get honest results back almost immediately. Could not ask for a better place to take my critters.

Scott County Animal Hospital is without a doubt, the most caring and experienced group of people who will treat your pets like family. We have been clients for 31 years and are always amazed at how each and every staff member goes out of their way to be sure that you and your pet have the best service. A couple of recent experiences that are an example of their outstanding care: we were scheduled to leave for Florida when another kennel we had booked told us they couldn't accommodate our dog. With less than an hour and a half until our flight left, Scott Co Animal Hospital arranged to board our dog (who has problems with strangers so is a little high maintenance) for five days. Not only was our dog well cared for, but Jessica took the time to send me a text and photo so that I felt good about the last minute switch. He loved his visit and has calmed down considerably when he goes in and actually enjoys the people there.
The second thing that occurred recently was a back injury to our doxie. When I called I was able to get in right away and have tests and treatment within a short while. Doctor Anne and Doctor Jennifer have been outstanding with our pets and take the time to explain and answer questions. The techs and other staff follow up and make sure that your pet is doing well after any injuries or procedures.
Our dogs have been like family to us and we would not entrust their care to any other practice because Scott County Animal Hospital has the best, most skilled and caring people working there. Thank you for all the kindness you have shown us over the years.

I don't give reviews, but am making an exception for SCAH. I've been taking various pets here for the last 30 years and won't consider another vet. Everyone there is very knowledgeable and explain everything thoroughly. I've had a couple of very aggressive cats that have bitten people. The doctors here have treated them with the same care and respect as my more sociable animals. I could not ask for a better team to care for my pets.

They really care about your babies. My dogs have been groomed there for years and we liked it so much we switched all of our vet care here! In the past two months I have had to send to dogs to heaven that were the love and compassion of my daughters and I. The doctors and staff at SCAH have gone above and beyond what the majority of people would expect or even dream of in care for our animals. They took the time to explain all that was diagnosed and laid out the options no matter the chance of success of each option. Last week we had to say goodbye to our beloved Edwina, who lost the battle against a fast moving cancer. The doctors and staff did everything they could to extend her life and also make her as comfortable as possible in her last days. I cannot say enough how much I admire their dedication to my family members who are no longer with us, and the respect they showed them after they were gone. If you are in doubt of where you need to be in the time of need for your loved one, do not think twice about being right here at SCAH. I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart. Although Bella and Edwina are no longer here, I know they left this world knowing they were loved by all at SCAH.

Several weeks ago our beloved Lab/Retriever mix, Smokey, became sick and was put to sleep. He had an aggressive large cell lymphoma cancer. If you're looking for a testimonial that will make up your mind on which vet to take your fur baby to, look no further. After a mostly sleepless night because of my dog "Buddy" not doing so well. I spent some time going over reviews and checking for vets that offer the services I felt I would need. Ultimately I chose Scott County Animal Hospital because they had good reviews, offered all the services I needed and they opened earlier than the other clinics. The staff was very friendly, the facility clean and well equipped and the cost for their services were very reasonable.

My 3 year old bullmastiff had an mmp knee surgery with Dr. Eaton almost exactly a year after having tplo surgery (in Ames) on the other knee. I have been very happy with the mmp surgery so far. My dog seems to be much more comfortable after the mmp procedure compared to the tplo surgery and we didn't to drive three hours to drop off and pick up. I would highly recommend this animal hospital, the doctors, technicians and front office staff to anyone.

My dog had developed a propensity to squeal while defecting. After taking her to two different vets in Davenport, I decided to take her here since I work in Eldridge. Dr. Ewoldt did a full examination, X-rays, and asked a ton of questions. She paid more attention to my dog in the one spot than Kimberly Crest did the three times we took her in for the same issue.We are still working through treatment since she isn't constipated at all (which is what other vets suggested not even looking at a stool sample) but the employees here care and are doing everything they can to make my dog much more comfortable.In addition, they are reasonably priced so I am not going to break the bank getting my dog good, quality care.

This is a wonderful, very caring and honest animal hospital. When a friend and I took in a 4 week old kitten in that had been literally thrown out of a moving vehicle, they seen him immediately. With the vets quick actions, the kitten was saved. They were very generous and did not make a profit on the visit. We could see their love for this helpless baby was there as much as our love. After a poor experience with another vet in town who took less than 2 minutes to look at a growth near my dog's eye ("look" being a very strong word, more like a short glance), Scott County Animal Hospital got me in the same day. I saw Dr. Ewoldt, who took 20+ minutes to do a full examination from head-to-toe, interact with my dog, and answer all my questions. It was a great experience and I will be going to SCAH for all my future pet needs. Many thanks!!

There's never been a wait and they seem to think it's just ok that my kitties have to 'check out' every square inch of the room. No matter how high up they are. Ultimately I chose Scott County Animal Hospital because they had good reviews, offered all the services I needed and they opened earlier than the other clinics. The staff was very friendly, the facility clean and well equipped and the cost for their services were very reasonable.

My 3 year old bullmastiff had an mmp knee surgery with Dr. Eaton almost exactly a year after having tplo surgery (in Ames) on the other knee. I have been very happy with the mmp surgery so far. My dog seems to be much more comfortable after the mmp procedure compared to the tplo surgery and we didn't to drive three hours to drop off and pick up. I would highly recommend this animal hospital, the doctors, technicians and front office staff to anyone.

On this date Dr Sampson did dental on my 5 yr old special needs dog. He is deaf and has seizures in addition to other problems and any procedure requiring anesthesia is a major concern. It means so much to me that Dr Sampson and staff are very sensitive to his health issues and patient and kind with him...and send him safely home to me!!! I am very grateful that they are so welcoming to dog's with disabilities.

My dog had developed a propensity to squeal while defecting. After taking her to two different vets in Davenport, I decided to take her here since I work in Eldridge. Dr. Ewoldt did a full examination, X-rays, and asked a ton of questions. She paid more attention to my dog in the one spot than Kimberly Crest did the three times we took her in for the same issue.We are still working through treatment since she isn't constipated at all (which is what other vets suggested not even looking at a stool sample) but the employees here care and are doing everything they can to make my dog much more comfortable.In addition, they are reasonably priced so I am not going to break the bank getting my dog good, quality care.

We have been patients here for 3 years now and won't go anywhere else. They got us in on short notice 3 years ago when our puppy was sick and gave her the best care! Now we have three dogs and drive 40 minutes to continue our care with them. Dr. Sampson is Amazing and we had a great experience with Dr. Ewoldt and an injured stray we found.

This is a wonderful, very caring and honest animal hospital. When a friend and I took in a 4 week old kitten in that had been literally thrown out of a moving vehicle, they seen him immediately. With the vets quick actions, the kitten was saved. They were very generous and did not make a profit on the visit. We could see their love for this helpless baby was there as much as our love. I am a long time supporter of rescue animals and have recommended Scott County Animal Hospital to friends and family. They are a very loving and educated facility. Renee Wingerter.

After a poor experience with another vet in town who took less than 2 minutes to look at a growth near my dog's eye ("look" being a very strong word, more like a short glance), Scott County Animal Hospital got me in the same day. I saw Dr. Ewoldt, who took 20+ minutes to do a full examination from head-to-toe, interact with my dog, and answer all my questions. It was a great experience and I will be going to SCAH for all my future pet needs. Many thanks!!
