We recently switched Veterinarians due to rising costs of the facility we used to go to. We took a chance on Prairie View and are so glad we did! The building is very clean and welcoming; it's not as "clinical" looking as some places. They treat our pets very well and it's easy to see the passion for animals in all of the staff members. The Vet Techs are great and the Veterinarian took the time to sit down and explain what she did during our dog's dental surgery using a model and x-ray pictures. The front staff made billing super easy; they have the latest chip reading devices. We thought the prices were very reasonable and never felt like they were trying to sell us something! The people and atmosphere are amazing! As a first-time pet owner I appreciate their the extremely friendly staff! After each appointment, a follow-up call is made and it is obvious how much they care about each of their patients! The staff at Prairie View Animal Hospital is amazing! Our two kitties, Koda and Titan, were recently patients and had to board for a few days after surgery. This momma had never been away from her fur babies for that long, but the staff is so friendly and informative, and it put my mind at ease knowing my kitties were in such knowledgeable, caring hands. Everything was explained in detail before surgery, and I was sent an update text every day until we picked them up! After bringing them home, we felt Koda was still in a bit of pain, and Dr. Thilges didn't hesitate to have us come in for a checkup where we got a few more days of pain/swelling meds, and he's feeling much better now! All our questions were thoroughly answered, and our appointments were never rushed at all. The love and care that the staff at PVAH has for animals really shines through in their personalities and the way they interact with the animals. This place is absolutely wonderful! I. Have a 14 yr old nervous dog and they are great with her. They work slowly with her and take their time. They are always happy to see her and treat her like their own pet. They listen to me and answer all my questions. They do their best to schedule her appointments when the time work best for me. This is a review for Dr. Thilgus at her previous practice, in Sugar Grove IL. My dog had one full ACL tear and then partially tore the other ACL. She was on prednisone for IBD (prescribed by a specialist), which weakened her muscles and made her more susceptible to the tears. Dr. Thilgus was recommended to me by a physical therapist that I had found for my dog. She was absolutely wonderful and explained all of the options. We didn't have to operate on the 2nd partial tear. She was very caring and open to alternative treatment options, such as physical therapy before and after surgery. My dog is my child. This was a very stressful time for me and for Maggie, but I knew she was in great hands. I miss Dr Thilgus tremendously and wish her the best of luck!!! Read Less

Millie, my perfect little rescue dog, has one big issue. She is extremely protective of me and my boys. Dr. Lisa knew exactly how to calm her down and make her comfortable. She gave me great tips on how to lessen Millie's anxiety and our first trip to the vet was a huge success which is far from what I was expecting. We won't be looking any further for Millie's doctor.
