Central Iowa Veterinary Services

Melbourne, Iowa
General Info
Central Iowa Veterinary Services is known for its reliable and comprehensive assistance to pet owners. Central Iowa Veterinary Services in Melbourne considers veterinary care a trust-building exercise between animals and their owners throughout Iowa. Cats may need some time for indirect eye contact before they allow the examination. Dogs might require more time to transition between steps or the opportunity to investigate tools by sniffing them. The clinic’s approach is species and method specific, as well as emotionally perceptive to prevent the pet from over stimulation and takes into account independent limits when determining how much a pet can take at each stage. The method considers the owners as equal partners. Veterinarians use the detailed facts about how pets behave in their homes after a storm or where they prefer to sleep together with how they react to new textures as clinical data. Central Iowa Veterinary Services provides medical support in the following areas: preventive planning, diagnosis, internal medicine, nutrition advisement, dental health care and senior pet wellness for all-aged animals. The timing of each procedure is coordinated with the animal’s ability to stay calm and alert. Pets who need multiple visits to finish the fragmented diagnostic process and receive anxiety-reducing preparation programs. Exotic pets are handled in a way to prevent them from stress related illnesses. After a medical consultation, families are advised to look out for signs of pain and overstimulation from noise or activity, which will guide them on when to resume normal routines. Each treatment has its own rhythm that tells you when to stop, proceed, and check. Central Iowa Veterinary Services provides compassionate care to Melbourne and nearby Iowa regions by respecting the body language, timing needs, and other stress signals of each patient. The practice offers a wide range of services which include; Emergency Care, Vaccinations, Laboratory, Livestock/Farm Animal Care, Surgery, to name but a few. These offerings support pets’ health and wellbeing at all life stages, from routine wellness through the more advanced care needed to diagnose and treat complex medical problems. Pet owners value the team's expertise and kind communication and the clinic’s ability to explain things clearly. Whether it is senior pet care or emergency health issues, the staff ensures that clients experience consistency and build long-term relationships. The clinic also facilitates owner education and the implementation of preventive strategies, which is another significant aspect. The more Central Iowa Veterinary Services does in the community, the firmer the basis of responsible pet ownership is. Both returning and new clients note how the clinic continues to advance with current veterinary practices.

I will never go to this vet clinic again I was a client for many years and the other day I needed help. My 16 year old little chihuahua suddenly became very I’ll and was crying in severe pain. I called the clinic and asked if they would hold my check for one week when my husband got paid. Times are tough. The lady told me she would ask and call me back. Five hours later and still no call back, I call. She said it’s not their policy and Walmart wouldn’t let me hold a check. She compared my suffering dog to groceries. She was very heartless and an extreme lack of empathy. I was shocked by her lack of empathy. Small town vet that I’ve always gone to in the past wouldn’t help me out that day. I did find a wonderful vet in Conrad that had empathy and helped my beloved baby get over the rainbow beige. Read Less

I like this place because they actually have two locations. One is in Baxter, Iowa where I live and this one in Melborne, Iowa. I have had two cats that had bladder disease Unfortunately the first one didn't cope with it and had to be Euthanized. The Vet felt bad and didn't charge me to do it. The cat I have now had to have a catheter put in and be in the hospital a few days. I checked Vets in Des Moines and they wanted 1,200 dollars to do it. This Vet charged me less than 300. That included antbiotics, pain medicine, and special food to take home. In my book they are just as good if not better than those expensive places. I have gone to alot of Vets in my years and I rank them up there pretty high. I have been using their services for 20 years. Read Less
