The vets and staff here are very friendly and caring. We had to bring our beloved pet in and put her to sleep despite all the medication and care she has received due to a neurological problem we couldn't fix. The vet that took care of us wasn't our normal vet, but she was excellent. She was very warm and caring and helped to make a very sad visit more bearable.... I called to see what my puppy would need on his very first visit, and she couldn't tell me what was needed. I understand they don't know what is wrong with the dog, but an estimate ($) or at least the must haves would of been nice. I ask a couple times and all she could say was the cost of the initial visit. I called Riverside Hospital and they actually told me what I should expect and the must have shots for a new pup. I will def not be taking my dog here. Read Less

DVM Adley was wonderful today with my brother and his 11 year old Mastiff. She had to be laid to rest today and Adley was wonderful with the dog and my brother. So caring and kind before and after. She really went over the process and what to expect. She was so very considerate. I highly recommend her and I think we just found a new vet for our own pets because of what I experienced today with her. We need more people like her on this earth! Read Less

Well last night I noticed that my little hedgehog Aysa was up much earlier than normal. She was walking funny and had a mass behind her that looked like she might have some fecal matter stuck. It was not and called the vet which diagnosed over the phone a possible rectal prolapse. It was already late and the vet there was not proficient enough with exotic mammals to do surgery without more risk. It was not an extreme diagnosis and I was told it looks worse than it is if she is acting fairly normal. I had to apply KY jelly every three hours until I could take her in to the vet at eight AM when the vet that had a lot of experience would be available. I was later told it was a vaginal prolapse. It required less surgery but had more internal bleeding. After surgery she went into shock. They called me and told me that they would monitor her but at that time everything was completely iffy for her survival. Well she pulled through and is now home on pain meds and antibiotics minus her uterus and overlies.! With all of the things going against I give complete responsibility for her still being with us on Muscatine Veterinarian Hospital and Dr. Buckingham. Thank you so much! I have also taken my dogs there for almost five years and they have taken more than excellent care of them as well. I plan to be with them for as long as they are here with us.Read Less

I love Muscatine Veterinary Hospital! I made a last minute decision to switch vets, after gaining several referrals, and MVH was well worth it. My Boston Terrier was having major health issues, which resulted in emergency treatment, but the veterinarians and staff at MVH were extremely helpful, compassionate and willing to provide information and knowledge to ensure I was able to make decisions in the best interest of my pup. Throughout my dogs care (for nearly daily visits over the course of 3 weeks) the service I received from the whole team was exceptional. Regardless of if I was calling the emergency number or during office hours and no matter which vet I spoke to, the knowledge they had about my dog's situation was seamless and the coordinated care was continued. With the frequency of which I was visiting MVH it would have been very easy for them to nickel and dime me for every phone call and visit I made with my pup. This wasn't the case. There was many complimentary exams or goodwill recommendations throughout the process. I genuinely cannot thank Dr. Nate, Dr. Tasha and Dr. Erin enough for the care they provided my pup. Highly recommend this team!Read Less
