The vets here are great. They've been wonderful to work with when our cat was sick, and they were diligent following up when I called with a question about her medication. They also provide medical care for a lot of the animals at the rescue where I volunteer and have been wonderful with them as well. I would definitely recommend them!

Animal Kingdom is a great vet. They're more affordable than a lot of the vets in the Iowa City area and offer a really large array of services. They're not cheap, but I do think you get what you pay for when it comes to veterinary services. Dr. Oliver in particular has been wonderful and accommodating with our troublesome cats, and more than willing to listen to all of our concerns. Thanks for everything! We look forward to many more years of coming here.

Normally I like to take my cats to an all cat clinic as then there are not as many noises to increase their anxiety about being at the doctor's. But I chose to come to Animal Kingdom due to the reviews about the staff.
When I walked in at 1:30, there was no other patients in the room. The front staff were very friendly, answered questions I had. Dr. Noel (pronounced "knoll") was able to see my cat right away when I was done with the new patient forms.
I didn't wait long with my cat in the exam room before Dr. Noel came in. She was calm, and friendly with me and my cat. He didn't put up too much of a fight when I took him out of the carrier. Throughout the exam, my cat came to like Dr. Noel more, and began slinking towards her on the exam table while she petted him, as she was doing a physical check on him. At the end, she offered him a little bit of cheese in a can, but he was too nervous to be interested in food.
She got his vaccinations and rabies shot from a storage spot in the exam room. I loved that she did not need to go out of the room to get them or chance "forgetting them in the back". Dr. Noel was great giving him the shots, he didn't react to getting the first one but he did tense up for the rabies shot, which tends to be more painful.
I decided to have blood drawn to find if there was a cause for his inability to gain weight. A tech came into the exam room to help hold my cat on his side while a sample was taken from his leg. I can not tell you enough how great it was not to have my cat taken from the room. I was able to help hold him and keep him calm. When the vet was unable to draw from the leg, she needed to try at the neck. The vet tech was able to hold my cat in position by herself, and she proceeded to say the things I had previously said and did the things I did to keep my cat calm. They both did such an wonderful job!

I switched to Animal Kingdom first as they were more available vs my old Vet. I have come to realize they have such a pleasant disposition and care for their animal patients. They saved my dog from most certain death by diagnosing a ware disorder. He is now again a happy hunting dog. Their fees are reasonable too. Dr. Oliver is the best!

I love Animal Kingdom and have been using it for many years for all my dogs. They are thorough and caring. Our latest pup visits Dr. Falk, who is delightful. I think all their staff are friendly and helpful. Dr. Falk does a very thorough exam and takes the time to make it comfortable for the dog and explain things thoroughly to the owner. So happy to have a great vet so close to home.

We have been going to animal kingdom for over 5 years and have had several great experiences for both scheduled checkups and emergency visits. We have seen multiple veterinarians and technicians and have liked them all. It's very enjoyable that once you walk into the entryway the techs are all very friendly and welcoming to you and your animal! We highly recommend them for their friendliness, knowledge, and comforting atmosphere.

I took a dog to them a few years ago for teeth cleaning. I was impressed with them then, but decided to stay with our current vet in our home town. Recently, I took two other dogs for teeth cleaning. This time they had remodeled, the atmosphere was wonderful. The pets were happy. Animal Kingdom went above and beyond as far as service and price was reasonable. I am looking into switching all four of a dogs over to them for full-time vet care. The trip to Animal Kingdom is only about 10 minutes further, but they send out reminders by text and email to keep me up to date with my pets medical needs and future appointments. I look forward to my next appointment with them tomorrow morning :-)

He answered questions about my dog's health issues that other vets could not. Additionally, the office decor makes the place much more inviting and cozy than any other vet I have gone to... and they are cheaper than vets in Iowa City. I have already referred another friend to him.

I cannot be grateful enough for the care and attention we received as we learned of our cat's fairly sudden blindness. We knew something was wrong, but had no idea what to expect. Dr. Oliver handled the investigation into the diagnosis very professionally and thoroughly, and was respectful of my emotional sensitivity from getting such news.Dr. Oliver also went above and beyond to continue researching our cat's ailment even after we left, resulting in a much-appreciated follow-up call soon after we got home. The call provided us with a sense of understanding and relief as we planned for the next stage of our cat's life without sight.Overall, the service we received was exactly what we needed and more. Beyond what was already mentioned - unlike experiences I have had at past clinics - the professionals here welcomed us into a friendly, warm environment and took the time to thoroughly explain the reasoning behind running certain tests and the test results themselves. I would recommend this clinic to anyone in need of a vet for their furry family member.

Excellent care our first visit at Animal Kingdom - they genuinely treat you like family. Very caring. From Sara at the front desk (there are other gals at the front desk who I did not have direct interaction with) to Dr Anna - very positive experience. Dr Anna is a true professional who greets you right from the moment she walks in the room (little things mean a lot too in my book..hand shake, acknowledgement, etc!) Very thorough...our dog is older & was literally 'on the floor' for the entire exam - causing Dr Anna to crawl/kneel on the floor to complete what she needed to put together for her consensus on what best direction to treat our dog! Very happy with what I learned that day and how our dog & myself were treated. Felt charges from that visit were reasonable.

My husband and I have been taking our two dogs (Pit mix & Cavachon) to Animal Kingdom for about 12 years...save for the 6 months or so that we tried a place in CR which was closer and fancier, but ultimately was just all around horrible, so we came back home and it was like we never left! First off, Jennifer in the front office is awesome! She always has a smile (I can tell even over the phone!). It's nice to call in and have that person know you and your dogs by name!Dr. Ahern is wonderful!! He is so gentle with our dogs, even when giving shots! Both my dogs trust him, and that makes going to the vet so much easier for everyone.I love the new updates!! They bought out the rest of the building they are in and completely remodeled the front waiting room and exam rooms! The front waiting room is so much bigger and has these large benches instead of the chairs. The exam rooms are all redone and they now have exam tables that lower completely to the floor, saving the Doc's backs as well as doggie hips!I know it sounds corny, but you really become part of the family over time!

I think all their staff are friendly and helpful. Dr. Falk does a very thorough exam and takes the time to make it comfortable for the dog and explain things thoroughly to the owner. So happy to have a great vet so close to home.

We have been going to animal kingdom for over 5 years and have had several great experiences for both scheduled checkups and emergency visits. We have seen multiple veterinarians and technicians and have liked them all. It's very enjoyable that once you walk into the entryway the techs are all very friendly and welcoming to you and your animal! We highly recommend them for their friendliness, knowledge, and comforting atmosphere.

I took a dog to them a few years ago for teeth cleaning. I was impressed with them then, but decided to stay with our current vet in our home town. Recently, I took two other dogs for teeth cleaning. This time they had remodeled, the atmosphere was wonderful. The pets were happy. Animal Kingdom went above and beyond as far as service and price was reasonable. I am looking into switching all four of a dogs over to them for full-time vet care. The trip to Animal Kingdom is only about 10 minutes further, but they send out reminders by text and email to keep me up to date with my pets medical needs and future appointments. I look forward to my next appointment with them tomorrow morning :-)

I just had my first visit with Dr. Ahern and am so glad I switched to him as my dog's veterinarian. He was kind, thorough, and obviously very knowledgeable and experienced as a vet.
He answered questions about my dog's health issues that other vets could not. Additionally, the office decor makes the place much more inviting and cozy than any other vet I have gone to... and they are cheaper than vets in Iowa City. I have already referred another friend to him.

I cannot be grateful enough for the care and attention we received as we learned of our cat's fairly sudden blindness. We knew something was wrong, but had no idea what to expect. Dr. Oliver handled the investigation into the diagnosis very professionally and thoroughly, and was respectful of my emotional sensitivity from getting such news.Dr. Oliver also went above and beyond to continue researching our cat's ailment even after we left, resulting in a much-appreciated follow-up call soon after we got home. The call provided us with a sense of understanding and relief as we planned for the next stage of our cat's life without sight.Overall, the service we received was exactly what we needed and more. Beyond what was already mentioned - unlike experiences I have had at past clinics - the professionals here welcomed us into a friendly, warm environment and took the time to thoroughly explain the reasoning behind running certain tests and the test results themselves. I would recommend this clinic to anyone in need of a vet for their furry family member.

Excellent care our first visit at Animal Kingdom - they genuinely treat you like family. Very caring. From Sara at the front desk (there are other gals at the front desk who I did not have direct interaction with) to Dr Anna - very positive experience. Dr Anna is a true professional who greets you right from the moment she walks in the room (little things mean a lot too in my book..hand shake, acknowledgement, etc!) Very thorough...our dog is older & was literally 'on the floor' for the entire exam - causing Dr Anna to crawl/kneel on the floor to complete what she needed to put together for her consensus on what best direction to treat our dog! Very happy with what I learned that day and how our dog & myself were treated. Felt charges from that visit were reasonable.

My dogs warmed to her right away and she kept them comfortable throughout their visits. I felt she was thorougher than others I had seen at other facilities. The reception area is newer, clean, and spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful.

My husband and I have been taking our two dogs (Pit mix & Cavachon) to Animal Kingdom for about 12 years...save for the 6 months or so that we tried a place in CR which was closer and fancier, but ultimately was just all around horrible, so we came back home and it was like we never left! First off, Jennifer in the front office is awesome! She always has a smile (I can tell even over the phone!). It's nice to call in and have that person know you and your dogs by name!Dr. Ahern is wonderful!! He is so gentle with our dogs, even when giving shots! Both my dogs trust him, and that makes going to the vet so much easier for everyone.I love the new updates!! They bought out the rest of the building they are in and completely remodeled the front waiting room and exam rooms! The front waiting room is so much bigger and has these large benches instead of the chairs. The exam rooms are all redone and they now have exam tables that lower completely to the floor, saving the Doc's backs as well as doggie hips!I know it sounds corny, but you really become part of the family over time!
