Mixed impressions. I had a good vet, but she has moved on. Overall, the staff is friendly and seem genuinely concerned about the care of my animals. This does not seem true for the "office manager". I had two customer service issues with different outcomes. The first issue was with their invoices not being clear, which was acknowledged and resolved albeit with difficulty. The second issue is more general. There seems to be a tendency to treat pet health issues by throwing everything but the kitchen sink at them, especially medications. I have a shelf full of barely used or unused medications. The final straw was an $11 bottle of appetite stimulants that I didn't even know I was buying (along with dog food) until I was told "don't forget your pills". The office manager, and I use that term loosely, seemed unconcerned about this issue. If you are not empowered to correct an $11 mistake, you should probably not have manager in your title. A credit could have been issued regardless of the rules about returning medications. They could go in the trash for all I care. As it turned out, with the departure of Dr. Kogan, I felt the time was right to go back to a trusted vet at a clinic where the staff are wiling and able to effectively address customer concerns rather than blame the customer for staff mistakes. Dr. Eric Streif is very arrogant. Without a biopsy or tests told me my dog probably had a malignant tumor and if so, it probably metastasized to her lungs and that there wasn't anything to do if it had. Seriously, went in for a dental exam and was told all this in 5 minutes and he left the room. The bump on her nose he was referring to is present in photos as far back as 7 years, I double checked. He also dragged her by her collar across the floor, this is an older dog, a boxer, that wasn't resisting him at all. My wife had to leave the room, she was so upset. Terrible experience with this guy and I will never go back. BTW, the staff was great and very friendly. I can't speak for the other doctors at this clinic but hope they're better than this guy was. Greatest care for my animals ever. My aussie is a rescue and will not go up to strangers. He went right up to all of the vets there. We have been treated very well by all of the staff here. I miss them being in Oxford. Read Less

My senior female Newfoundland (eleven and a half young years) has been battling ear infection, yeast infection, allergies and arthritis pain for a good 3 of 4 months. Unfortunately, with everything my girl has been dealing with the onset of pain and discomfort has settled in. I am not an Iowa resident therefore I don't have a veterinary. I was desperately calling several veterinarians and researching reviews. I wasn't about to settle for just anyone. After several attempts I was finally able to get my baby an appointment/last minute. First and foremost I was blown away from the moment we arrived for our appointment. The front door staff, Dr Malandra, all the assistants and the cleanlesliess of the facilities. Each and every person I was in contact with went above and beyond. Lucy received the upmost care and attention and I could not be more happier. I am forever grateful not only with the level of care and attention the two of us received. I was pleasantly surprised when I went to pay for our appointment and medications. Medications can be very pricey and a few of them were. You can't put a price tag on my four legged kid. The veterinarian Dr Malandra told me I could purchase a few of the human type medications from a name brand store to save myself a little money. With the exception of one human Omega supplement- I chose to purchase everything from the veterinarian office. The plan, we going to make my girl as comfortable as possible in her senior years. Lastly, I highly recommend this veterinarian office. I could not be happier with the level of care, services and cost. You cannot put a price tag on our four legged friends. Read Less

It seem the new policy with the new building is to get as much money out of you as possible. I needed a new prescription for a topical ear medication for my dog---who was in the clinic 2 months earlier--and they refused to sell me the medication unless they saw my dog again. I have been using the medication for several years and ran out--so was seeking to a new bottle. Seemed simple to me----but now I will be taking my dog to another vet. Read Less

I have lived in Iowa city for ten years and this is by far the best animal clinic for miles! I always feel like everyone cares about my animals and me as well. Knowledgeable staff, handle our animals with care like they were their own. I will never go anywhere else ever again after my experience here. Couldn't have been more blessed to find this place! Went to PHC Tiffin based on a recommendation after we got our puppy Knox and we're definitely glad we have such a great vet to take him to. Dr. Streif was great and clearly very good at what he does. The staff are terriic. The rooms are not. They echo so bad that by the time I got out I had a migraine. Something needs to be done. Sound proof the walls or something. Please. When that is done it will definitely be a 5 star rating. Read Less

Today I had an appointment and the care of my dog was exemplary!! Dr. Kogan is an amazing doctor! My dog Mr. Handsome, is a little overweight, but otherwise he's healthy. We've got some work done and a few vaccinations so all is well. Very happy with my visit, the clinic is very clean and beautiful.Read Less

We love the Pet Health Center of Tiffin! We have three indoor cats and two (outdoor) llamas.This clinic recently relocated from Oxford, IA, and is a branch clinic of the Veterinary Medical Center in WIlliamsburg. The new facility in Tiffin is spacious, clean, and very pet-friendly, with lots of benches and a restroom. Our vet is Dr. Kogan, and she's one of the best veterinarians we've ever had. She is exceptionally knowledgeable, kind, and patient. She answers all of our questions and listens to our concerns. We never feel judged or pressured to buy extra products or services. We always feel welcome, and the wait time is very short. When one of our llamas was sick with meningeal worm, Dr. Aljets came out to our farm to help. He admitted that he didn't know too much about llama medicine, but when we offered to connect him with an experienced llama owner who knew a lot about the disease, he readily contacted her to learn more. (And, in the end, our llama recovered!)Everyone we've dealt with at this clinic has been capable and empathetic. Highly recommend. Read Less

The vets at this clinic are truly animal lovers. I chose this clinic because it was the only one I could find that did not believe in declawing cats (amputation is cruel!!). This is a really important issue for me and I drive extra just to see Dr. Kogan. They are kind, patient, and really willing to help you out. As a college student money is an issue for me, but the folks here never make me feel bad for asking about prices beforehand. If you are looking for a vet that it truly concerned about your pet, this is the place to go! Read Less
