I took my cat there for a groom. I love the cut, the girl groomer was nice but when the main vetrainarian took him out he had him by the scruff and tail (I don't think there's anything wrong with that, so nothing wrong here), then when we got outside he took the cat and slammed him against a car, and I mean not setting him down and repositioning him, SLAMMING him. He ran off and I got him out from under a person's car. Now seince he's gotten back he's been slow and one of his eyes are closed and one looks f****d... I'm worried of brain damage. Read Less

Vinton Veterinary Clinic is a locally owned small animal vet. Dr. Wilson has helped me and my family members with problems that no other veterinarians in the area could figure out. You can also board your animals at the vet clinic while you are away. Occasionally you can buy pets here if the doctor decides to buy an animal to find it a home. If I could give them a zero I would! I had some questions about my dog and the vet said they would do a blood drawing and test it to see what was wrong. They didn’t tell me how much it would be so I could say if I should do it. I am now being garnished because I am a student and couldn’t pay the bill of $580! They didn’t give me any information charges me a crazy amount, took me to court and I still don’t know what is wrong with my dog!!!! Read Less

We've been taking our dogs to Dr. Wilson for 8 years now. The clinic is what we were looking for in a small town provider. They know us when we walk in, ask how the other dog is doing (by name) when we bring one in for an appointment. If it just needs to be a quick appointment, Dr. Wilson makes it that...but if we're wanting more information he explains what he's doing and why. Finally, he's reasonable on prices...we don't expect him to compete with bulk retailers on meds, we're paying for his expertise. Read Less

We drive from Cedar Rapids to see Dr. Wilson with my dad's animals. His prices are right and he doesn't force expensive tests and procedures on you like some other vets do. Doc Wilson is the BEST, bar none. He will do everything possible, even holistically, to help a pet, and is completely honest and I love that about him. He has never let me down. He has bent over backwards to help me and my furbabies and I wouldn't go anywhere else but Vinton Veterinary Clinic. I drove from Cedar Rapids to see Dr Wilson because of the wonderful things I have heard about him and the clinic. I was not disappointed. I was very unhappy with the service I was given. We had a dog that kept getting sick. Over the course of 7 months and several vet visits, we kept getting told the same thing. Had blood work, urinalysis and xrays done. Was told nothing is wrong, your dog is just getting old. After 7 months we decided to switch vets. Found out for starters he had a bad UTI and his white blood cell count was over 25 (which high normal is 15). After seeing the results that Dr Wilson did a month prior to our switch, the blood work was exactly the same. After several more specialized tests and an ultrasound, we found out he had a 4" intestinal tumor. We chose to do surgery and have it removed. The biopsy results confirmed it was cancer and it had spread to his lymph nodes. He lived 2 wonderful months (he acted better than he had in well over a year) after his surgery. The cancer spread and caused internal bleeding. At this point we had no choice but to put him down. I just wish I would've switched vets sooner. Read Less

Doc Wilson is the absolute best! He is very thorough is explaining difficult situations, lab results, etc., admitting if he does not know something, but then goes to look it up. I have entrusted my entire back of Siberian huskies to him, along with all my cats. He has helped us deal with some impossible illness situations & has been very helpful, cooperative, informative & more than fair.Someone said she was charged for shots her pups did not receive. IF that is true, she should have taken her receipt back to the office, not just a phone call, but actually walk into the office with the receipt. If there was an error made, Doc would quickly fix that problem. To us, Clyde Wilson is practically a member of our family. Read Less

i just took my two 9 week old pitbull puppies there today and the vet there charged me for two shots that he didnt even give them. My fiance didnt realize this until we were wonder where their rabies tags were and we call him back and he said he didnt give them their rabies shots. i got charged $60 for something they didnt even recive. I am going to be taking them to my older dogs vet here in my home town of cedar rapids. Read Less
