We just moved here and wanted a vet who was located near us. We stopped in and were given a bunch of free samples for our Kitties and when we got our new puppy, lots more free stuff and coupons and tips for everything we could possibly need. We have been going to Family Pet for many years. You have seen our puppies grow from 8 weeks old, till the time we have had to say good bye. Every visit you are welcoming, understanding, and most of all you can tell you love animals. Family Pet has been by our side with a couple of our dogs, as they struggle with health issues. Dr. Duster and staff are knowledgeable, professional, kind, and really love their work. I consider then all truly "pet whisperers". I have owned three dachshunds and lots of cats and the pets have always growled , spit, and hissed when taken to other vets. Toenails are the true test! I knew we were "home" when Piper, my last dachshund, didn't utter even a small growl when it was time for a trim! I have been taking my dog to the Family Pet Clinic for 8 years and would give them my highest recommendation to anyone looking for a Veterinarian. Dr. Duster is an excellent Veterinarian with a tremendous amount of experience and common sense. My dog has diabetes so I have had regular appointments and have developed a great deal of trust in her diagnosis' and treatments. Family Pet has our interests in mind rather than their own. Kendra is very knowledgeable, personable and goes the extra mile to provide a terrific patient experience. We have other Vets closer to us, but she helps make the extra miles we drive to get there worth it. Their Halloween Pet party rocks! My dog wags her tail everytime we go! This review is long overdue, and for that I apologize. My dogs and I have been going to Family Pet for many years, and frankly they put up with a lot from me given my tendency to adopt older dogs. Two of those dogs required pretty uncommon and gnarly surgeries (one young, one older); each time, Dr. Duster would chew on and sometimes invent a procedure, then honestly assess the risks with me. Both surgeries were a success, but that's almost beside the point. The decisions were always mine, but when I made them, I knew that she had looked at things from every possible angle and in doing so, provided me with the information I needed to make informed decisions. I do not want a vet to tell me what to do (okay, well sometimes I do but only when overwhelmed and in the moment); they are no more gods than physicians. I want my vet to have exceptional skills, the diligence to do research when necessary, the honesty to admit what they don't know, intelligence, compassion, humor, and warmth. Dr. Duster and the crew at Family Pet provide all those things, and so much more. There is no other vet I would even consider seeing and my dogs and I will be going to Family Pet as long as they'll have us! I am deeply grateful to them. Read Less
