Cedar Creek Animal Clinic

General Info
Cedar Creek Animal Clinic was established in January of 2008 by Dr. John Holcomb, an ISU gradutate, who has practiced veterinary medicine in the area since 1995. CCAC is a full service small and large animal facilty that provides on site care with farm calls and has a doctor on call to provide emergency care 24 hours a day. We also have boarding facilities, with outdoor play areas for dogs, and offer basic grooming services. Our trained and dedicated staff strive to provide the highest quality animal healthcare in the area.

We started taking our pets( 6 dogs and 6 cats) to Dr. John before he opened Cedar Creek. We will continue to go to Cedar Creek until we no longer have pets or we cease to exist, whichever comes first....
We started taking our pets( 6 dogs and 6 cats) to Dr. John before he opened Cedar Creek. We will continue to go to Cedar Creek until we no longer have pets or we cease to exist, whichever comes first. Dr. John, Dr. Stan, and the staff are top notch. The cost may be higher than other places, but definitely worth every penny.

This is the worst place I have ever taken my dog. I went in to have my dogs nails clipped and I called ahead first to find out the price. I was told $10.56 and when they gave me back my dog it was a...
This is the worst place I have ever taken my dog. I went in to have my dogs nails clipped and I called ahead first to find out the price. I was told $10.56 and when they gave me back my dog it was almost $25.00. They said they had to use a muzzle on him. He is a 16 lb Bishon and very friendly. They wouldn't let me go back with him so I don't know if they used a muzzle or not. Then I got home and checked his nails, and they are not even trimmed! I will never go there again and I will make sure all of my friends know what a crappy job they do there. I posted this with pictures, and they don't let the pictures come through.

I am very happy that I was able to start going to Cedar Creek with my two dogs. Since they have started to have “old lady” problems with aging, I seem to go to the vet monthly. I’m very happy that I go here instead of somewhere else for all those visits! The staff is friendly and the veterinarians are knowledgeable and very good with my dogs. I also never get the feeling they are doing anything “unnecessary” or “frivolous” just to make money.

Thank you Cedar Creek Animal Clinic. It's been 2 months since we had to put our sweet Maggie down. Dr Stan and the staff were extremely caring & compassionate through the difficult decision. I left that day a total wreck, and didn't think to pay my bill. Then a week later our house caught fire. The bill got lost in the shuffle. You didn't harass me or send nasty notes. We are now back home and settled. Today I finally got the courage to go pick up her remains and pay my bill. I was touched that you included a clay ornament with her name and pawprint. It was a touching gesture that I will treasure. Thank you for always treating our pets like family.

Best vet clinic I have been to in SW Iowa. Very thorough, willing to answer any questions, great with the animals and a relaxed atmosphere. Slightly more expensive than some in the area, but worth every penny in my opinion - you get what you pay for and this place has great doctors and quality care!

Love the Cedar Creek Animal Clinic in Winterset. The staff is always welcoming to my very happy Brittany dog, Winston. Dr.Jon is helpful and gentle with him. Even when administering shots, he doesn't even whine. Although it's not down the street from us here in West Des Moines, we wouldn't go anywhere else.

We are new to Iowa and are so lucky we found such a great vet. I have 2 rescue pups, 1 of which was severely abused and is very, very afraid of people (especially men). They both loved Kendra right aw...
We are new to Iowa and are so lucky we found such a great vet. I have 2 rescue pups, 1 of which was severely abused and is very, very afraid of people (especially men). They both loved Kendra right away and within a couple of minutes with Dr. Stan, she was eating treats out of his hands and begging for more, and even let him pet her. She has NEVER taken a treat from a vet before, or let them pet her. That speaks volumes to me. She obviously felt safe with him. Dr. Stan and Kendra made what is normally a very stressful day, not bad at all. We will definitely be back and I can't recommend them highly enough to everyone.

Dr Stan was so patient on our first visit. He took his time and made sure Izzie was comfortable with him before he did anything. He didn't scold her when she got scared, just waited and took his time....

There are new and exciting things to do each day. There's always new people to meet. Needless to say Cedar Creek Animal Clinic doesn't know what boring days are. It is a wonderful place to work! What I enjoy the most is helping all the animals. The Vets take away their boo-boos as the Vet Techs pamper them with attention while the clinic assistants feed them and pet them. The animals enjoy their stay here as we enjoy them here! :)

We will continue to go to Cedar Creek until we no longer have pets or we cease to exist, whichever comes first. Dr. John, Dr. Stan, and the staff are top notch. The cost may be higher than other places, but definitely worth every penny.

This is the worst place I have ever taken my dog. I went in to have my dogs nails clipped and I called ahead first to find out the price. I was told $10.56 and when they gave me back my dog it was almost $25.00. They said they had to use a muzzle on him. He is a 16 lb Bishon and very friendly. I am very happy that I was able to start going to Cedar Creek with my two dogs. Since they have started to have “old lady” problems with aging, I seem to go to the vet monthly. We are new to Iowa and are so lucky we found such a great vet. I have 2 rescue pups, 1 of which was severely abused and is very, very afraid of people (especially men). There are new and exciting things to do each day. There's always new people to meet. Needless to say Cedar Creek Animal Clinic doesn't know what boring days are. It is a wonderful place to work! What I enjoy the most is helping all the animals. The Vets take away their boo-boos as the Vet Techs pamper them with attention while the clinic assistants feed them and pet them.
