Nielsen Animal Medical Group offers routine and comprehensive surgery, dentistry, wellness, and preventative medicine, microchipping, boarding, and grooming.
It is a friendly environment for pets and owners alike. You will enjoy meeting Barkley, our Cairn Terrier, who is always looking for a new friend--the two legged kind or the four legged variety. Cactus is a bit aloof, but that isn't unusual for a cat. She will decide if you get to pet her.
Our staff is passionate about keeping your pet healthy, and making the visit pleasant for both you and your pet.

I use a training harness for my dogs who are just over a year old because they’re still learning leash manners. My second visit in, they told me I should get a choke collar for both of them. I didn’t ask for their advice and I didn’t need it. There are PLENTY of other ways to teach a dog to walk on a leash that don’t involve a choke collar.
Bed side manner isn’t good, the vet seems like he’s just phoning it in. We got our girls spayed here and I wish we hadn’t because after our next visit I just didn’t trust their judgement.
We’ve switched to Mulvane Animal Clinic and they are wonderful!!

Service was good and friendly, but will not provide a written prescription for medication, which were being priced over three time available rate claiming they do this for purity of meds, which are regulated now. Had to start over with new vet immediately to get medication to keep my beloved pet alive. This vet is all about the money and willing to let my pet pass so he can over charge for medication. CAUTION!

I have gone to Doug with all of my pets (Dogs, Cats) since 1995 and Doug and Jennifer are like family to me! They take excellent care of my furry kids and treat them with kindness and gentleness. Doug is always up on the latest developments in Veterinary Medicine but doesn't try to get you to do extra testing and treatments just to pad the bill and the longevity of my pets is testament to his skills! I love that in the past few years they have added grooming services. They do a great job! Even traveling around the country in our RV as we do now, we STILL go back to Doug each year for our checkups and a spa day! You can't find anyplace that will treat your fur kids with more kindness, integrity or knowledge. Thanks Doug and Jennifer!

I have been taking my six year old dog to this vet for at least 3 years. I found him to be very condescending, but thought I could tolerate that if he were a good vet. However, my most recent visit will be my last. I took my dog to get his teeth cleaned, and when I picked him up, I was informed he had to pull six of his front teeth. No phone call...no consent. I will never take another animal to this man.

I use a training harness for my dogs who are just over a year old because they’re still learning leash manners. My second visit in, they told me I should get a choke collar for both of them. I didn’t ask for their advice and I didn’t need it. There are PLENTY of other ways to teach a dog to walk on a leash that don’t involve a choke collar.

Service was good and friendly, but will not provide a written prescription for medication, which were being priced over three time available rate claiming they do this for purity of meds, which are regulated now. I have been taking my six year old dog to this vet for at least 3 years. I found him to be very condescending, but thought I could tolerate that if he were a good vet. However, my most recent visit will be my last. I took my dog to get his teeth cleaned, and when I picked him up, I was informed he had to pull six of his front teeth. No phone call...no consent. I will never take another animal to this man.
