I love the staff here. They are kind and compassionate. Their care is superb and they explain everything to you as well as an estimation. My pup we adopted in less than 24 hours came down with parvo. I was told if pup left by this Monday here was ballpark on price. It was 14.00 off so very accurate. On top animals get the best care possible. All our babies are El Paso babies.

I have had some bad experiences here but ive had A LOT of pets in the last 20 years that ive been using this veterinarian. I have for the most part had positive experiences and the doctors do seem to really care about the animals. The new facility is amazing and there seems to have been a positive shift toward spending more time with each client. I will continue to go here even though it is a half hour away.

I waited for over an hour to have my Yorkie get an allergy shot and her nails trimmed. I went there for the shot, no examination needed, it's a recurring shot/treatment.
Because a new Vet was there and saw her, I was charged a $41 examination fee, which wasn't needed as there wasn't an examination performed. I went for something that she'd already been seen for, but because that specific doctor hadn't seen her, he needed to "get familiar with her" according to the staff.
That's ridiculous. So if they have 5 doctors on staff, I'm going to have to pay $41.50 for each Vet to give her an examination? Terrible. I guess they have to pay for that new building...
I'll find a different Vet so I hope the extra $41.50 was worth losing a recurring shot of $30 every two months...nice work El Paso. You need to get back to the basics, treat people fairly and with courtesy.

Very rude and rushed. I sat in the waiting area for about two hours. I only went to them because my dog needs surgery. When I finally got to talk to the vet and he did an exam on my poodle I was very uncomfortable. I will not be returning and I wouldn't ever let my dog stay over night with those people. I found another place for this same type of surgery for a reasonable price as well but with better caring staff.

The staff here was very friendly and comforting when my P.J. (female cat) was very very sick. I didn't know what was going on and I was really scared I was going to lose her. They answered all of my questions and even encouraged me to call a couple of times a day to check in on her because she had to be admitted for a few days. I will be taking her brother Yoda to them for shots and neuter this weekend. I definitely recommend this place if you want people who actually care about your furbabies!💚

The vets and most of the staff are nice enough, we had used them for years. But there is ONE older, blonde member of the desk staff that is so rude, my dog is seeing another vet. There were also health concerns, like we were the first one there - and there was only 1 patient. We were rushed as though there were 100 and it was time to close. When we tried to weigh the dog she jerked the leash and rushed us into the room without an accurate weight. She pulled some shots, when the doctor asked her to leave the bottles so he could know what he was giving she argued with him right in front of us. On another visit I tried to explain that the breeder brought the litter there as puppies so they already had a health history on her. The rude lady shut me down. Later when she walked off I talked to one of the nicer girls - turns out she had a very minor illness as a puppy. I have made repeated requests for the receipt from the last visit because she threw up on my copy - no response. I have requested her medical records so I could provide them to the new vet - no response. I usually gravitate toward older office staff, because I too am old, and cranky. This woman is a very unpleasant person and they lost a customer of many years because of her.

I absolutely detest this veterinary clinic. I took a female cat in to be Spayed. She came back a completely different cat. She acted as though she had been hit in the face. Every time I reached to pet her head shook her head and her eyes would close. She bled for 2 weeks and couldn't even walk or use the litter Box. She had gotten so bad that I had to have her put down because I could no longer handle her. I have had many of cats spayed at other clinics and they came home perfectly fine right away. This is the worst vet I've ever been to and I will never be back. Please be careful and cautious of your pets and don't always be so trusting of a smiling face.

I want to give serious props to El Paso Veterinary Clinic. Our little Papillon, Moo Moo, was viciously attacked on Thursday afternoon, so badly I actually thought he was dead when I got to him and still can't believe he survived the car ride to the vet. It's been a very difficult time for us getting through this as he is a member of our family and dearly loved.Moo is not a patient there-we've never even been there before- I only went there because it was the closest vet to my house. I point this out because that did not stop them from acting immediately upon us walking in the door and rushing us to a room, essentially cutting in front of the other 20ish people there. Dr. Jeff Herod came in just seconds later (the door hadn't even shut yet) to start looking Moo over to see the extent of his injuries. The vet tech, Chloe, was incredibly helpful and understanding of my anxiety because I was definitely losing it. They quickly took him to get him on fluids, some pain meds, and get him cleaned up to see how bad it was.Since then they've taken ridiculously good care of him. We've asked plenty of questions and they've provided answers and explanations when needed. Furthermore, they've been very understanding of our entire family coming and going, visiting Moo Moo over the course of three days, bringing him blankets and even letting Gouda visit.He's home now, resting & healing. We couldn't be happier with the service we received and on top of that, when we went to pay our bill it was HUNDREDS of dollars LESS than what we expected. We have been so blessed that Moo survived this attack and I truly believe that without their expertise and attention, that would not have been possible.Thank you to Dr. Herod for taking such great care of our Moo. Thank you Chloe for being so kind and understanding. Thank you El Paso staff for being so helpful, accommodating, patient, and affordable! I would absolutely recommend them to anyone who has animals and cares about their wellbeing.

Great prices and very informative. I had to ask a lot of questions about service and pricing and they didn't act like I was bothersome. I appreciated the honest answers. Definitely recommend!

This clinic is always jam packed with people and the staff are unorganized and the workflow is chaotic. Some of the stuff are down right RUDE and they make you feel like its your fault they are in such a bad mood. The El Paso experience is so stressful that it boggles my mind that with so many staff in such a small clinic that things could be ran this way. I moved to Derby and gave them a few chances, but now I drive to Wichita to see my old veterinarian because it's worth the drive to have friendlier personalized attention in a less chaotic environment.

We have been taking our cats and dogs there since we moved to Derby in 1991. My favorite Dr. is Dr. Oehmke. If is wasn't for him we would not have our Min Pin Zoey. We got her Aug 29, 2014 when she was not even 2 months old, and she was fine until she got to be about 4 months old then our problems started. She would eat but getting no nutrition from it and pooping blood. She stayed off and on for most of her first year and half at the vets. My husband and I would go and visit with her and they would put us in a room so we could hold her and show our love for her. Dr. Oehmke never gave up on her and today she is health and sassy. I like the other vets, but prefer Dr. Oehmke. The staff is wonderful too.

Amazing staff! I went on a Saturday and they were packed and they helped me with Emma Lou. She is a fearful 135lb English Mastiff and I am currently on crutches. They helped me get Emma inside and treated her amazing! I was expecting to be treated as a pain since I am on crutches but they were so friendly and helpful. I asked for the last time slot of the day to try and work with them and instead they came out and met Emma and helped get her in and out in normal order. Emma was so comfortable and happy with them she walked right in the back door with them and me. I think we found our new vet! Dr. Erica McKinney and staff were amazing! Awesome experience!

Love This place.. Very friendly and helpful Front desk clerks. Brought one dog in in the beginning of 2016, as a walk in. They took her right in did dental work extractions and prescribed meds. Took very good care of her. In December 2016 took our other dog in for the same thing Took very good care of her also. Without breaking the bank. Very satisfied with their work and compassion. I would recommend them to my family and friends for sure.

I think the staff and doctors are amazing just brought my ore boy home today after him having a very abcessed tooth. This was not his first trip there. Earlier this year we had a problem with our beloved sparky I called Dr Jeff over the weekend and he called me back gave us advise unfortunately as of Monday morning he had not improved Dr Jeff told us there was nothing that could be done and we needed to let him go. We had to wait for our kids to come from all over town so they could say goodbye Dr Jeff gave him pain meds to keep him comfortable til they could all be there. He did not have to do this taking up one of there rooms for over an hour. When it was over they made all the arrangements for him to be cremated and returned to us. I can not say enough about there compassion and care. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

Since I was a little boy up till now we have always in trusted our animals to elpaso amazing staff we have lost 1 our best friend 7 years ago and they are so compassionate for their love of animals they have also saved 2 of our animals let alone them being amazing on routine check ups and preventatives. Will never go back for services again. My dog passed away and we had an autopsy done and they refused to give the body back to me. They even held information found in the biopsy from me and not calling back I had called several times and got no response. They gave the body to someone who claimed it was theirs when I had all my paperwork proving he was mine even though he was in my car when I brought him in. I would give them no stars but they don't give me that option. Please don't come here if your looking for a vet they may be cheap but their services are not worth it.

We have not had a good experience at all! We rescued a small pup from a horrible situation and he was healing very well from non contagious mange and a staph infection that covered his whole body. He had a flare up and we couldn't get into the vet we had seen before to get the medicine he desperately needed. We had seen the reviews and was told it was much cheaper there. The woman vet wasn't hardly in the room, prescribed medicine that isn't suppose to be for puppies under a yr old which totally knocked his immune system down and flared up his infection so badly he can't even move without being in pain. We took him back to the original vet we saw who said it will get worse before it gets better since his immune system is compromised. My poor baby is so much worse off than if we had done absolutely nothing and just let it progress on its own. We will NEVER be back. Plus they charged 4x as much as the original vet who actually knew how to treat the precious baby.

5 hrs · Not only is #DrGaryOehmke at the #ElPasoAnimalClinic in Derby one of the most dedicated to the care and health of his patients I've ever know. I've also known him to work around the clock and put the care of his patients above anything else. He's lived a life of sacrifices as his passion to care for and treat his patients is second to none. I've known him for over 35 years in practice and I see that his passion and quality of treatment and willing to sacrifice is as strong today as it ever has been. I'm grateful to him and #ElPasoAnimalClinic for there heartfelt dedication and commitment to the care of our pets and those pets they have rescued.

I have worked EXTENSIVELY with animals for many years, so when a dear friend of mine said it ""was time"" to euthanize her very elderly dog, I was glad to be there as moral support. What I witnessed at El Paso was HORRIFYING. I have had experience in euthanasia situations, and told my friend to expect a calm, peaceful good bye. She got anything but. The first dose of medication did nothing for Sissy (my friend's dog), and the second did not either. After the poor dog was screaming in pain, it was determined that the veterinary staff had COMPLETELY MISSED HER VEIN. They tried another vein, unsuccessfully, and then decided to put a needle directly into her heart. THEY MISSED. I cannot begin to describe to you how disgusting this process was. What should have been a simple, peaceful act of kindness was turned into a session of pain and torture, during which my friend was robbed of the most precious moments of saying good bye, and Sissy was robbed of any dignity she had left. In addition to this review, I have authored a letter to the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association. I urge you to find professional pet care somewhere else, and can only hope that this poor excuse for a clinic will not survive.

I've been taking my furkids to El Paso Animal Clinic, and Dr. Herod in particular, for many years. Sugar gliders, dogs, ferrets, and even hamsters... you name it and Dr. H has treated it for me! He has the compassion for animals that makes him an amazing vet, as well as the ability to relate to a distraught owner without making them feel as though they're overreacting. There is no other vet clinic that I would trust my precious babies to!

The vets here have always been gentle and caring. I have used them for about 4 yrs now and do not have one complaint. I would recommend them to anyone who loves their pets!

Not only did my cat get fleas from this office but the staff was extremely rude and getting her spayed cost almost double what I was quoted once I got to the register. Her scar looks like her surgery...
Not only did my cat get fleas from this office but the staff was extremely rude and getting her spayed cost almost double what I was quoted once I got to the register. Her scar looks like her surgery was done with a kitchen knife and I now have the pleasure of having to treat my other pets for fleas and fog my home. Please do not take your pets there for their safety.

My dog was injured and they got him in right away. The vet had seen him within 10 minutes, they were all very attentive and caring. The new office is very modern and clean.

I love the staff here. They are kind and compassionate. Their care is superb and they explain everything to you as well as an estimation. My pup we adopted in less than 24 hours came down with parvo. I was told if pup left by this Monday here was ballpark on price. It was 14.00 off so very accurate. On top animals get the best care possible. All our babies are El Paso babies.

I have had some bad experiences here but ive had A LOT of pets in the last 20 years that ive been using this veterinarian. I have for the most part had positive experiences and the doctors do seem to really care about the animals. The new facility is amazing and there seems to have been a positive shift toward spending more time with each client. I will continue to go here even though it is a half hour away.

I waited for over an hour to have my Yorkie get an allergy shot and her nails trimmed. I went there for the shot, no examination needed, it's a recurring shot/treatment.
Because a new Vet was there and saw her, I was charged a $41 examination fee, which wasn't needed as there wasn't an examination performed. I went for something that she'd already been seen for, but because that specific doctor hadn't seen her, he needed to "get familiar with her" according to the staff.
That's ridiculous. So if they have 5 doctors on staff, I'm going to have to pay $41.50 for each Vet to give her an examination? Terrible. I guess they have to pay for that new building...
I'll find a different Vet so I hope the extra $41.50 was worth losing a recurring shot of $30 every two months...nice work El Paso. You need to get back to the basics, treat people fairly and with courtesy.

Very rude and rushed. I sat in the waiting area for about two hours. I only went to them because my dog needs surgery. When I finally got to talk to the vet and he did an exam on my poodle I was very uncomfortable. I will not be returning and I wouldn't ever let my dog stay over night with those people. I found another place for this same type of surgery for a reasonable price as well but with better caring staff.

The staff here was very friendly and comforting when my P.J. (female cat) was very very sick. I didn't know what was going on and I was really scared I was going to lose her. They answered all of my questions and even encouraged me to call a couple of times a day to check in on her because she had to be admitted for a few days. I will be taking her brother Yoda to them for shots and neuter this weekend. I definitely recommend this place if you want people who actually care about your furbabies!💚

The vets and most of the staff are nice enough, we had used them for years. But there is ONE older, blonde member of the desk staff that is so rude, my dog is seeing another vet. There were also health concerns, like we were the first one there - and there was only 1 patient. We were rushed as though there were 100 and it was time to close. When we tried to weigh the dog she jerked the leash and rushed us into the room without an accurate weight. She pulled some shots, when the doctor asked her to leave the bottles so he could know what he was giving she argued with him right in front of us. On another visit I tried to explain that the breeder brought the litter there as puppies so they already had a health history on her. The rude lady shut me down. Later when she walked off I talked to one of the nicer girls - turns out she had a very minor illness as a puppy. I have made repeated requests for the receipt from the last visit because she threw up on my copy - no response. I have requested her medical records so I could provide them to the new vet - no response. I usually gravitate toward older office staff, because I too am old, and cranky. This woman is a very unpleasant person and they lost a customer of many years because of her.

I absolutely detest this veterinary clinic. I took a female cat in to be Spayed. She came back a completely different cat. She acted as though she had been hit in the face. Every time I reached to pet her head shook her head and her eyes would close. She bled for 2 weeks and couldn't even walk or use the litter Box. She had gotten so bad that I had to have her put down because I could no longer handle her. I have had many of cats spayed at other clinics and they came home perfectly fine right away. This is the worst vet I've ever been to and I will never be back. Please be careful and cautious of your pets and don't always be so trusting of a smiling face.

I want to give serious props to El Paso Veterinary Clinic. Our little Papillon, Moo Moo, was viciously attacked on Thursday afternoon, so badly I actually thought he was dead when I got to him and still can't believe he survived the car ride to the vet. It's been a very difficult time for us getting through this as he is a member of our family and dearly loved.Moo is not a patient there-we've never even been there before- I only went there because it was the closest vet to my house. I point this out because that did not stop them from acting immediately upon us walking in the door and rushing us to a room, essentially cutting in front of the other 20ish people there. Dr. Jeff Herod came in just seconds later (the door hadn't even shut yet) to start looking Moo over to see the extent of his injuries. The vet tech, Chloe, was incredibly helpful and understanding of my anxiety because I was definitely losing it. They quickly took him to get him on fluids, some pain meds, and get him cleaned up to see how bad it was.Since then they've taken ridiculously good care of him. We've asked plenty of questions and they've provided answers and explanations when needed. Furthermore, they've been very understanding of our entire family coming and going, visiting Moo Moo over the course of three days, bringing him blankets and even letting Gouda visit.He's home now, resting & healing. We couldn't be happier with the service we received and on top of that, when we went to pay our bill it was HUNDREDS of dollars LESS than what we expected. We have been so blessed that Moo survived this attack and I truly believe that without their expertise and attention, that would not have been possible.Thank you to Dr. Herod for taking such great care of our Moo. Thank you Chloe for being so kind and understanding. Thank you El Paso staff for being so helpful, accommodating, patient, and affordable! I would absolutely recommend them to anyone who has animals and cares about their wellbeing.

Great prices and very informative. I had to ask a lot of questions about service and pricing and they didn't act like I was bothersome. I appreciated the honest answers. Definitely recommend!

This clinic is always jam packed with people and the staff are unorganized and the workflow is chaotic. Some of the stuff are down right RUDE and they make you feel like its your fault they are in such a bad mood. The El Paso experience is so stressful that it boggles my mind that with so many staff in such a small clinic that things could be ran this way. I moved to Derby and gave them a few chances, but now I drive to Wichita to see my old veterinarian because it's worth the drive to have friendlier personalized attention in a less chaotic environment.

We have been taking our cats and dogs there since we moved to Derby in 1991. My favorite Dr. is Dr. Oehmke. If is wasn't for him we would not have our Min Pin Zoey. We got her Aug 29, 2014 when she was not even 2 months old, and she was fine until she got to be about 4 months old then our problems started. She would eat but getting no nutrition from it and pooping blood. She stayed off and on for most of her first year and half at the vets. My husband and I would go and visit with her and they would put us in a room so we could hold her and show our love for her. Dr. Oehmke never gave up on her and today she is health and sassy. I like the other vets, but prefer Dr. Oehmke. The staff is wonderful too.

Amazing staff! I went on a Saturday and they were packed and they helped me with Emma Lou. She is a fearful 135lb English Mastiff and I am currently on crutches. They helped me get Emma inside and treated her amazing! I was expecting to be treated as a pain since I am on crutches but they were so friendly and helpful. I asked for the last time slot of the day to try and work with them and instead they came out and met Emma and helped get her in and out in normal order. Emma was so comfortable and happy with them she walked right in the back door with them and me. I think we found our new vet! Dr. Erica McKinney and staff were amazing! Awesome experience!

Took very good care of her. In December 2016 took our other dog in for the same thing Took very good care of her also. Without breaking the bank. Very satisfied with their work and compassion. Earlier this year we had a problem with our beloved sparky I called Dr Jeff over the weekend and he called me back gave us advise unfortunately as of Monday morning he had not improved Dr Jeff told us there was nothing that could be done and we needed to let him go. We had to wait for our kids to come from all over town so they could say goodbye Dr Jeff gave him pain meds to keep him comfortable til they could all be there. He did not have to do this taking up one of there rooms for over an hour. When it was over they made all the arrangements for him to be cremated and returned to us. I can not say enough about there compassion and care. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

Since I was a little boy up till now we have always in trusted our animals to elpaso amazing staff we have lost 1 our best friend 7 years ago and they are so compassionate for their love of animals they have also saved 2 of our animals let alone them being amazing on routine check ups and preventatives. I would be lost if we didn't have these amazing doctors and wonderful staff. God bless you all

Will never go back for services again. My dog passed away and we had an autopsy done and they refused to give the body back to me. They even held information found in the biopsy from me and not calling back I had called several times and got no response. They gave the body to someone who claimed it was theirs when I had all my paperwork proving he was mine even though he was in my car when I brought him in. I would give them no stars but they don't give me that option. Please don't come here if your looking for a vet they may be cheap but their services are not worth it.

We have not had a good experience at all! We rescued a small pup from a horrible situation and he was healing very well from non contagious mange and a staph infection that covered his whole body. He had a flare up and we couldn't get into the vet we had seen before to get the medicine he desperately needed. We had seen the reviews and was told it was much cheaper there. The woman vet wasn't hardly in the room, prescribed medicine that isn't suppose to be for puppies under a yr old which totally knocked his immune system down and flared up his infection so badly he can't even move without being in pain. We took him back to the original vet we saw who said it will get worse before it gets better since his immune system is compromised. My poor baby is so much worse off than if we had done absolutely nothing and just let it progress on its own. We will NEVER be back. Plus they charged 4x as much as the original vet who actually knew how to treat the precious baby.

I've also known him to work around the clock and put the care of his patients above anything else. He's lived a life of sacrifices as his passion to care for and treat his patients is second to none. I've known him for over 35 years in practice and I see that his passion and quality of treatment and willing to sacrifice is as strong today as it ever has been. I'm grateful to him and #ElPasoAnimalClinic for there heartfelt dedication and commitment to the care of our pets and those pets they have rescued.

I cannot give El Paso a SINGLE star and feel good about it. I have worked EXTENSIVELY with animals for many years, so when a dear friend of mine said it ""was time"" to euthanize her very elderly dog, I was glad to be there as moral support. What I witnessed at El Paso was HORRIFYING. I have had experience in euthanasia situations, and told my friend to expect a calm, peaceful good bye. She got anything but. The first dose of medication did nothing for Sissy (my friend's dog), and the second did not either. After the poor dog was screaming in pain, it was determined that the veterinary staff had COMPLETELY MISSED HER VEIN. They tried another vein, unsuccessfully, and then decided to put a needle directly into her heart. THEY MISSED. I cannot begin to describe to you how disgusting this process was. What should have been a simple, peaceful act of kindness was turned into a session of pain and torture, during which my friend was robbed of the most precious moments of saying good bye, and Sissy was robbed of any dignity she had left. In addition to this review, I have authored a letter to the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association. I urge you to find professional pet care somewhere else, and can only hope that this poor excuse for a clinic will not survive.

I've been taking my furkids to El Paso Animal Clinic, and Dr. Herod in particular, for many years. Sugar gliders, dogs, ferrets, and even hamsters... you name it and Dr. H has treated it for me! He has the compassion for animals that makes him an amazing vet, as well as the ability to relate to a distraught owner without making them feel as though they're overreacting. There is no other vet clinic that I would trust my precious babies to!

The vets here have always been gentle and caring. I have used them for about 4 yrs now and do not have one complaint. I would recommend them to anyone who loves their pets!

Not only did my cat get fleas from this office but the staff was extremely rude and getting her spayed cost almost double what I was quoted once I got to the register. Her scar looks like her surgery...
Not only did my cat get fleas from this office but the staff was extremely rude and getting her spayed cost almost double what I was quoted once I got to the register. Her scar looks like her surgery was done with a kitchen knife and I now have the pleasure of having to treat my other pets for fleas and fog my home. Please do not take your pets there for their safety.
