Best vets office hands down! We drive 30 mins from the East side of Shawnee to use this office. We've been going there for 8 years and couldn't recommend them more! They have treated arthritis,eye infections, allergies and even helped me when my 19 year old cat was at the end of her road here on Earth. Have been a customer since the early 80's. They have worked on my livestock, horses, hunting dogs and house dogs. Used them for farm calls and office calls. On two separate occasions I had to call on them to euthanize dogs that we had for years. They treated my family with compassion and understanding. Dr Schreiner and Dr Shain are fantastic to my two cats. Not too long ago one of my cats had to go in for emergency surgery, to facility he went into surgery at was very expensive and we couldn’t afford to keep him there for recovery. We had him sent to here where he received exceptional care. We’ve taking our cats to them for kitty colds, surgery after care, vaccines, check ups and everything between. The best thing about the Eudora Animal hospital is not only are they so affordable, but they really take great care in making sure your animals are treated as well as possibly. Wouldn't call a script in to my vet for science diet urinary health food for my college kids dog they saw in a few months ago, wanted us to give them $20 to do it when I paid them $400 to treat his dogs UTI. I have a credit of 80 bucks at my vets, thought I'd pay for a bag for him with the credit to save him money. Really sad. Read Less

I love this place. I live in Lawrence and I drive my pets out to Eudora because I won't take them to any other vet. The staff is great! They are qualified, friendly, efficient, and caring. They're speedy when I'm in a hurry or slow and informative when I am worried. I have never felt rushed and I have never even been asked to wait for a room, they are always ready for us when we arrive. If I'm worried about money they are always willing to work with me to keep my cost down. My cat has been limping for a couple of days and I started to really worry, I called this morning (it's Christmas eve) and they told me they could see him in just 30 minutes. We bring both our labs to Eudora . We have been to other vets in the past with other pets and have found EAH to be exceptional in prices, care, and most of all knowledge and love for animals. The staff is great, and I've had nothing but positive experiences, for all of my animals. Prices are affordable. I have been utilizing EAH for around 5 years, I tried once to take my pet elsewhere for a "cheaper" alternative, only to return. I will never again attempt to go anywhere else. Since then we had to put down a our beloved French Bulldog, he went downhill FAST, and we called on a Sunday morning and Dr. Shain was waiting for us when we arrived. As difficult the situation was, he allowed us to stay even after Oliver was declared gone. We never felt rushed, and in situations like that, the simple hospitality he offered has not gone unnoticed. The rest of the staff, genuinely love their jobs and it's great to walk in and be remembered. They also have fun contests from time to time, in which I was awarded with a 3 month supply of flea/tick preventative simply by posting a picture! Read Less

Saturday was our very first visit here and it will be our last. From the second we walked in to the second left the experience was very underwhelming and sour. The receptionist, Heather, I believe, didn't smile and barely looked up from her computer. She asked our names and handed me a clipboard and told me to fill it out. The young man who came around the counter didn't introduce himself to me or my dog, who was very excited by the new environment and unseen dogs barking, just took the leash and began dragging my dog over to the scale. My dog then became anxious and began to whine because some aggressive stranger was pulling him away from me. The receptionist then pointed at a room and told us to go in there. The same young man then decided he needed to hold my dog down by his head, which was completely unnecessary and made him even more uncontrollable. I understand my dog is a large breed and he was excited, but I wasn't even given the chance to calm him down before the vet popped in for literally two minutes and checked his ears, teeth, and administered the vaccinations before leaving. As we were leaving another dog was in the waiting room and my dog then became excited again and wanted to play/began whining, but seeing as the tiny dog was injured and their owner became nervous, I pulled my dog away and the receptionist then barked at me to take him to my car. For being a vet office, they did not seem to be very pet friendly/tolerant and we will not be returning. The lower cost and short drive from our home in Lawrence is not worth it. Read Less

The "emergency services" here are disturbingly lacking. After my dog was hit by a car, this vet clinic decided to only give him an anti-imflammatory. No pain medication, no xrays, no bandaging wounds, despite having road rash, suspected broken bones and possible internal bleeding. His excuse was a lack of staff available on a weekend, but the vet should have let us know then that he didn't have the capacity to treat the animal and recommended a place that does instead of letting the animal suffer for HOURS. I couldn't get my dog out of there fast enough! He is now being treated a proper clinic and is doing much better - absolutely NO thanks to Eudora Animal Hospital. Your lack of compassion and lack of treatment for my dog disgusts me. If you want your animal to be treated properly and to be out of pain, don't take them here. Go anywhere else and you'll be in better hands.Read Less

I have been using EAH for 14 years for my cats and my dog. Today, I had an urgent problem with my oldest cat and even though they were double booked, they got me in, got her treated, and got me back home in 30 min ROUND TRIP! I love Eudora Animal Hospital! I have taken my animals other places in Lawrence, but I feel EAH provides the best care and is most affordable. As just one example of their exceptional care... On Labor Day while I was in Colorado my dog decided to eat a block of mouse poison. Dr. Shain promptly returned my call to advise me to seek a nearby vet. Recently we had an emergency with our other dog and we were connected to the on call vet within a few minutes. They were very helpful and eased our minds and got us in first thing the next day. Super friendly staff, excellent doctors.  I have been taking our dogs to Eudora Animal Hospital for over 11 years and have appreciated all of their care and attention.  Their prices are more than reasonable and they are excellent in situations that require special care.  They have always gone the extra mile to help us with our dogs when needed.  They have always made us feel 'part of the family' and I don't know what we would do without them.  I count them as one of the best perks of Eudora and know of many friends that drive from out of town specifically for this Vet practice.  We are lucky to have them here.  I would and do recommend them to everyone. Really glad to have Eudora Animal Hospital so close to home. We've been taking our dog here for regular checkups since moving into town and it's always a quick easy process. Last week, our dog was acting very sick in the morning. I called the hospital at 7:35 to see if I could bring my dog in and  within 10 minutes my dog and I were meeting with the vet. She ended up needing to stay 2 nights and the staff did a great job of getting her back to normal. She was even bathed before we got her back. I have been taking my cats to this practice for 11 years. I started thanks to a referral by the now retired owner's daughter and was extremely pleased with the care my cats received. Now I continue going with the new vet owners and am also very pleased with their care.  I recently had to have one of my cats put to sleep and they were almost as sad as I was. The staff and vets knew my cat by name and remembered him from visit to visit and made losing him a little easier. They are always gentle with my kitties and genuinely love animals. Switched to this vet on referral of my boss, tried of being over charged at the Animal Clinic of Kaw Valley in Lawrence. Pup was due for his annual shots, and unlike my Lawrence vet, they didn't charge a "comprehensive exam fee." They looked him over, checked his teeth, listened to his heart etc, but only charged us for the shots, heart worm test and nail trim (also cheaper than the Lawrence vet). Dr. Haggard counseled me on heartworm/flea prevention and recommended the combo pill as it was cheaper than buying flea prevention liquid + a heartworm pill. They even had a $7 off coupon laying around they gave me.Every staff person I came into contact with was very nice and knowledgeable. It's a plus that they have PetPortal which keeps your pet's history and reminds you when it is due for shots. Lastly, they will release prescriptions with a fee, something my Lawrence vet refused to do. Read Less

This place is awesome!  My sister has been taking her pets here (and mine also once or twice, while I was out of town), and came highly recommended--I can see why.  I took my dog, Bella, in today to receive a heartworm test and medications.  They were so friendly and helpful from the moment I walked in the door: they transferred Bella's records over without hesitation or question, gave me instructions to login to the internet PetPortal to access them, treated Bella with love and respect and were very gentle with her, let me know they have a vet available 24/7/365 (!!!!), took her back for testing immediately without wait, allowed me to hold her while we waited for results, and then checked me out quickly.  I live in downtown Kansas City and it was well worth the drive, not only for their service, but also for the prices--Bella received a heartworm test and a year's worth of medication here, as part of a promotion, for the cost of just the test anywhere else I called in the metro area.  I would trust them with anything for either of my dogs.
