We took our german shepherd, Cleatus, here for labored breathing and a heartworm test. I called 10 minutes before opening time and he answered the phone! Sounded a little rough...like a busy man. We waited for our turn in the comfort of our car and had complete control of the shepherd. Loved that! He took blood without shaving the dogs arm, he knew where it was located from experience. I was impressed. Showed us the heart worm test result. Love transparency. He did not run a blood panel test. He examined the dog thoroughly, told us what he found the problem to be. Prescribed medicine and said to call him in 10 days to give him an update on our dog. Cleatus was doing much better. He and his father were friendly. We made jokes they laughed with us. He was correct in his diagnosis and treatment. He was also 150 dollars less than another quote for less treatment. But, just to be fair, that place did have a waiting room and appointment time. I have more time than money, I hate being jerked around and taken advantage of. These Drs. were so knowledgable and straight forward I'm going to try to make an appointment for me and my husband! Love these Doctors!

On a Saturday, I had an emergency with my dog. My usual Vet happened to be closed on this weekend. I googled for Veterinary Clinic, and I found Coronado Animal Hospital with a lot of great reviews and open on Saturdays. The service was great. After going to Coronado a second time and getting excellent service, I have decided to make this veterinary clinic my go-to clinic. Living in Olathe, KS, it is well worth the drive to this Kansas City, Kansas, location.

I can't say thanks enough for the genuine care and concern given to my beloved Chihuahua, Baby Girl. I got her as a companion and we are to each other. She was caged for 6 years and rescued from a house with 14 dogs.. A puppy mill. I have had her 3 years now and she is having some very bad complications due to her past. We are going to see the vet first thing Saturday morning. I am sitting up with her tonight as something is very wrong. I won't trust her care to anyone other than the good Dr.. at Coronado. Pray for my wonderful Baby Girl.

Great place my pirate was having seizures. Everywhere I called was concerned about money. Not Coronado Animal Hospital. They got my baby in immediately! They were so awesome with him beings he has 3 legs and is 12 years old. He's 75 lbs and the vet picked him up like my husband does and took him from the scale to the table ( its hard for my fur baby to walk alot) Super sweet and gentle. At first I thought the older man was grouchy but he's not it's just how he talks. He's just as sweet. He means nothing by it. All together great place. Helped my fur baby immediately!!

I got a puppy, and on the sixth day we had him, discovered he had parvo. I brought him to this animal hospital, and they were absolutely wonderful. I called ahead to see how much the treatment would cost, but then after I arrived, they charged me less than I was quoted. It's easy to see that these two vets care more about the animals than they do about money. Although my puppy didn't make it, we all did everything we could to get him healthy. Whenever I get a new puppy, I will not go anywhere else.

Real straight shooters. They never try and "guilt" you into doing something for your animal it may not need. They are happy only addressing the issue you came in for. So many times vets want to upsell you on their services. Super affordable as far as vet service goes. I have referred relatives that drive from Olathe to use them. Two great guys doing their community a great service. I would imagine I have over 100 vets closer than they are. (probably more) Well worth the extra drive to go there.

He could have answered my questions calmly, but he told me to hurry up because he's busy. Just super rude, I don't think I would ever want to visit the place after the phone call.

I am moving into the area and reached out to this vet to see if this was where I wanted to bring my dogs for their ongoing care. Left a message on their phone. NO CALL back. Called over two weeks later, got a guy who said 'we never answer our phone, we're too busy, never call back'. WHAT??? SAid his parking lot is full all the time. Don't have time. He was quite brusque and had no real interest in answering questions or even setting up a time for me to come look them over. He gave me the names of a couple specialist vets, but that's not what I wanted. Given his attitude, I doubt that I would EVER bring my dogs to this place, if they are that rude to people, I don't think I want them caring for my pets. Can't rate their expertise, since I don't want my dogs near them.

With that being said, they treat you like a person and not a potential sale like other big name veterinary clinics.They are super inexpensive and only sell you what you need. I used to take my English bulldog to Banfield for the first year of his life and I was a constant list of expenses whenever he went in for anything.Not to mention, I always had to wait so long to see veterinarian and just seemed cold and distant. I love this place. Walk-ins welcome all day till 4pm. Highly recommended!

I have been going to Coronado Animal Clinic since 1990! Dr. Allen (Sr.) was one of the first Veternarians who didn't act as if I was too stupid to understand what was going on with my pets. Not only that but he was good with all my animals (at the time I had a herd of cats and a few dogs). When a found a stray cat that had kittens I adopted out the kittens and made sure to include an instruction sheet for each new pet owner with Dr. Allen's phone number and address so that the new baby kittens would have THE BEST CARE. I was bringing my pets there when Dr. Allen (Jr.) first began helping his father out with the business. I found that Dr. Allen (Jr.) had inherited his father's bedside manner and way with animals. He too, was helpful in explaining treatments and helping me to understand what was going on with my pets. Although I do not have as many pets as I have in the past, I HIGHLY Recommend Coronado Animal hospital and both Dr. Allen, Sr. and Jr. - YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG WITH THESE VETS!

I got a puppy, and on the sixth day we had him, discovered he had parvo. I brought him to this animal hospital, and they were absolutely wonderful. I called ahead to see how much the treatment would cost, but then after I arrived, they charged me less than I was quoted. It's easy to see that these two vets care more about the animals than they do about money. Although my puppy didn't make it, we all did everything we could to get him healthy. Whenever I get a new puppy, I will not go anywhere else.

Real straight shooters. They never try and "guilt" you into doing something for your animal it may not need. They are happy only addressing the issue you came in for. So many times vets want to upsell you on their services. Super affordable as far as vet service goes. I have referred relatives that drive from Olathe to use them. Two great guys doing their community a great service. I would imagine I have over 100 vets closer than they are. (probably more) Well worth the extra drive to go there.

I just wanted to verify some stuff of how much each things cost, such as vaccination, exams, etc., and he just blew me off. He could have answered my questions calmly, but he told me to hurry up because he's busy. Just super rude, I don't think I would ever want to visit the place after the phone call.

I am moving into the area and reached out to this vet to see if this was where I wanted to bring my dogs for their ongoing care. Left a message on their phone. NO CALL back. Called over two weeks later, got a guy who said 'we never answer our phone, we're too busy, never call back'. WHAT??? SAid his parking lot is full all the time. Don't have time. He was quite brusque and had no real interest in answering questions or even setting up a time for me to come look them over. He gave me the names of a couple specialist vets, but that's not what I wanted. Given his attitude, I doubt that I would EVER bring my dogs to this place, if they are that rude to people, I don't think I want them caring for my pets. Can't rate their expertise, since I don't want my dogs near them.

Both Dr. Allen Jr. & Sr. have been amazing with many dogs of mine in the past, and they are always helpful and friendly. I wouldn't go anywhere else, unless at their own instructions.

With that being said, they treat you like a person and not a potential sale like other big name veterinary clinics.They are super inexpensive and only sell you what you need. I used to take my English bulldog to Banfield for the first year of his life and I was a constant list of expenses whenever he went in for anything.Not to mention, I always had to wait so long to see veterinarian and just seemed cold and distant. I love this place. Walk-ins welcome all day till 4pm. Highly recommended!

I have been going to Coronado Animal Clinic since 1990! Dr. Allen (Sr.) was one of the first Veternarians who didn't act as if I was too stupid to understand what was going on with my pets. Not only that but he was good with all my animals (at the time I had a herd of cats and a few dogs). When a found a stray cat that had kittens I adopted out the kittens and made sure to include an instruction sheet for each new pet owner with Dr. Allen's phone number and address so that the new baby kittens would have THE BEST CARE. I was bringing my pets there when Dr. Allen (Jr.) first began helping his father out with the business. I found that Dr. Allen (Jr.) had inherited his father's bedside manner and way with animals. He too, was helpful in explaining treatments and helping me to understand what was going on with my pets. Although I do not have as many pets as I have in the past, I HIGHLY Recommend Coronado Animal hospital and both Dr. Allen, Sr. and Jr. - YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG WITH THESE VETS!
