I rarely write reviews on Google but truly felt compelled to share my experience due to the consistent incredible service I have received at Rainbow Pet Hospital. An avid dog lover, I went to Dr. Overeem before I decided to adopt my black poodle Ziggy from a shelter. Free of charge, a staff member gave me all the information about the breed's characteristics, possible future medical issues and answered all my questions. After adopting, Ziggy has been a patient at Rainbow Pet Hospital for over three years now. They were incredibly understanding and patient of the anxiety issues my dog initially came with as well as some serious medical problems. Doc and the staff were able to properly diagnose a hereditary kidney disease and literally saved my dog's life by recommending and putting him on the proper kidney diet. When my dog got tired of the chicken flavor, they custom ordered a bag of liver flavor and even gave me a discount on the food. The staff goes way above and beyond to make sure you feel taken care of despite the heavy workload. They have been super attentive with me and Ziggy, have recommended financing options and treat me and Ziggy with so much love and care. I also love the fact that the hospital is a one stop shop for medical care and food but also dental work. They just finished Ziggy's dental cleaning and it all went great! The vet was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating, but unfortunately the assistant was extremely rude to me before my appointment even began. I had asked if I needed to bring a urine sample with me and was told no. I have a dog who was a rescue from a breeding facility who would not go pee for the assistant, and the assistant was obviously frustrated by this and rolled her eyes. I told her she had just gone to the bathroom and she replied “Well why didn’t you bring a sample or stop her?” while rolling her eyes again. I explained to her I was told I didn’t need to bring a sample when I asked when setting my appointment. She condescendingly stated “Well if you’re doing a urine analysis, you kind of need, you know, urine?”. I was able to get my pup to provide a sample but was extremely disappointed by this lack of customer service. My pup is also super anxious due to being a breeding dog before we rescued her and I felt like I was accused for her lack of socialization and anxiety. I have had her for 3 months and she lived in this facility for her entire life (4 years). She has come along way in those 3 months, but still has a long way to go as we continue to work with her and train her. The care for my pet was good, but I felt like the customer service overall was lacking, which is disappointing when I am paying the bill. I felt like I was treated like I did not care for my pets appropriately, when I have been a crazy dog lady my entire life. The staff was sympathetic of my dogs needs, but did not try to relate with me or provide customer service for me whatsoever. Like I said, the vet was extremely knowledgeable which I’m grateful for, but otherwise the service was extremely lacking. Today was my first visit to Rainbow Pet Hospital. I went there for a second recommendation. I could be happier for the situation. This place was recommended to me by two different people who are both serious animal lovers. I now know why. I brought my baby here because after his long 20 year life it was time for the next stage. I love him very much and the process could not have been any smoother. They also offer cremation. Remember when medical care was by a doctor who cared? Well at this vet you get just that kind of care. The Doc thinks in and outside the box. She is a realist, a pragmatist and one of the most caring people - your pets could not be in better hands. The staff if phenomenal too! They all make you feel like going there welcomes you into their family. This is a small clinic where you are NOT a number. The food is priced right and they are always expanding their services and knowledge. I just wish you could still find MDs with this type of dedication and personality.Read Less

It's pretty obvious that someone has a bone to pick here, no pun intended, and they don't even have the courage of their convictions to put their name behind their words. RPH gets 5-stars at other review sites.We have been taking our pets to RPH for decades. Doc is a thorough and compassionate veterinarian. The place does feel more like a country doctor's office, than some high-tech (and high priced) practices, but they have all the lab equipment and technology they need to diagnose and prescribe. One of the things I like about them is that they aren't always pushing for expensive, unnecessary tests and procedures, like some places. Doc is a "hands-on" sort of practitioner. I was looking up the phone number online and saw some of these reviews and I have to say that a few seem really unfair. We started going to this vet, based on the glowing recommendation of a friend, and I've been very pleased. The place may not be the fanciest but it's always clean an the staff is wonderful. Rude and unacceptable behavior to their clients. I took our kitten here, because she was incredibly sick and the vet we were taken to couldn't help either. They are unprofessional, there facility is crap, and they have absolutely zero communication skills. I was frustrated when I brought the kitten in, but on the phone assured me the vet would fix her. Over $100 and 4 medications later still running into the same issues without any difference. I was told to call about a week out to let her know how she was doing. I brought her in on a Thurs afternoon, have a busy job, and 2 small children. I called a week and 3 days later and they refused to help me because I didn't follow the doctors instructions and call within 7 days. I am not a vet which is why I would go to them....I have a life too and called as soon as I could. I was insulted numerous times by the lady on the phone and was pretty much crucified when I mentioned putting her down, because 2 vets and $600-$700 later she's still as sick as day 1. I don't know what other options there are. I tried to call back numerous times to have them send the medical records and to get the ladies name I spoke with and they would pick up the phone and hang up on me.....real mature for some old woman. This place is perfectly acceptable if your animals are healthy. I however needed a vet who could actually practice veterinary medicine, not guess work medicine. My cats were seen twice for awful, extended boughts of diarrhea. Bacteria was seen in their stool. The first antibiotic didn't work so I was given the same antibiotic again along with a dewormer. When I asked for justification for the use of a $50 dewormer, she said, "The antibiotic should have worked the first time." She then proceeded to get defensive and condescending with me. I've given this vet $200 and my cats are still sick. She is unfriendly and rude. I do not recommend this place one bit. Read Less

I've always supported GLBT business but this, unfortunately, is an exception. The place is filthy, the waiting room non-existant, and the vet is unpleasant (on a good day). I just witnessed them holding a cat hostage until payment was complete (several hundred dollars for emergency surgery) for someone that couldn't afford it - right before the holiday. No payment arrangements, no discussion, no mercy. Worse yet, they were going to charge $15 a day until payment was paid in full.I've taken my animals there for years. Never again. Read Less

My dog is a spaz to everything. He can only go here to get his nails done. The vets here know what they are doing. Even though they probably do not like to see him, I am sure the feeling is mutual. They have to use a bit of muscle with him cuz he is such a cry baby, lol. Thanks Ladies! Read Less
