We have been clients of Camelot Court Animal Clinic for years, but I just HAVE to write another review and say just how WONDERFUL they are at caring for our pets! Our cat is now 17 with multiple medical problems (including kidney disease and cancer), and Dr Thomas McKee is ALWAYS happy to see us, ALWAYS has time for us, and ALWAYS takes awesome care of our kitty! We've had to make some same-day appointments, and he always makes time in his schedule, no matter how busy he is. He is a caring, EXTREMELY competent veterinarian who really connects with both animals and their owners. A huge shout-out to Shonta, his assistant, and Paula and Megan at the front desk, who are so kind and caring and handle our kitty so gently. They are always genuinely concerned about his welfare and call us after appointments to make sure he's doing okay. If the medical system for people was as good as Camelot's medical care for animals, we'd all be in MUCH better shape! :-) Read Less

Many of the staff members were disrespectful and pretentious. The care that this clinic provides for its clients is average. They are too concerned about how much money they can earn, rather than caring for your pet. Pet supplies are very overpriced as one would expect at an average animal clinic. Camelot Court Vet Clinic has been wonderful for our dog Precious. They performed a Tight Rope surgery to repair her torn ACL. Post op, she had some complications with her incision and Dr. Swanson took care of us so well. I understand that to get the best you have to pay premiums, but with them you just pay the premium, or it could be that the premium is actually for the very friendly service. My dog is still not getting better despite the couple hundred dollars spent after a few visits, not to mention, it was given a vaccine for something that vets don't even give out anymore...unless they are trying to get more cash out of you. Pro tips: 1) If you chose to go there and your dog needs meds, just ask for a prescription. The vet will just come in with the pills in hand, but you can pay a fraction of the price at a regular pharmacy. 2) If you need to get your dog spayed, they charge around $600 - $700 dollars. Average price for most places is $75 - $150. 3) Ask around a couple of vet professionals what vaccines should your dog have (so that you don't get suckered for the extras). 4) Friendly service does not mean good service. One of our cats broke part of hip and had to have surgery. Another vet in the area estimated it would be super expensive. We went for a second opinion and Camelot Court was recommended to us for their expertise and affordable pricing. Everyone was super friendly! Dr Swanson operated on our cat during his lunch hour to get us in asap. He called me after to let me know how it went. And then followed up the next day to give me and update and let me know how my baby was doing. I am so thankful we were recommended here! Dr Meyer is a joke. She canceled my appointment due to 20 minutes of being late for an entire days drop off to get my baby girl checked out. Only reason for me being late is cause I was talking to the office on the phone about treatment for my dog. Dr Meyer 2 weeks prior gave my dog pain meds and antibiotics but wasn't able to do a true exam. The pain meds didn't seem to manage her pain. I ended up going to another vet and they were able to diagnose my dog on the spot and turns out my dog was on 1/3 of the dose of pain meds she can be on. Thanks Meyer for leaving my dog in pain I asked several times if this is as good as it gets. Long story short my dog has breast cancer and was looked at several times by Meyer and another dr. at there vet. They could not get anything done without sedation and to top it all off I spent $290 at another vet instead of there outrageous $750 quote got everything done no sedation. And also received 2/3 more pain meds at half the cost. This vet is a joke if you need serious help with your dog. I highly recommend cotton wood vet in Ottawa Kansas the dr. there is amazing and is willing to do anything to help your dog. The lady that runs the front desk also told me, "this is leawood prices are high" when I asked for a cheaper quote due to me spending so much with them within the last month. Read Less

I can't express in words the love and compassion that Dr. Dingus, Dr. Swanson and the entire staff here displayed for my sweet baby Nicholas! They did a surgery for him that most other places wouldn't even attempt for thousands of dollars less than the quote I did receive! They took fantastic care of my love big from the time we walked in to the time we walked out. Dr. Dingus made sure he called with updates throughout the procedure and told me up front that if he couldn't do it he would let me know! I loved the honesty and genuine concern from both doctors during this whole process! We are home now and healing! So far so good! Absolutely disappointed in the response I have received. Tried calling to see if my dog could be seen after his 3rd surgery for the same issue. 4 1/2 weeks after surgery and his incision is draining a lot. Tried calling doctors but was told by technicians that the doctors were not in today. My dog has 2 blister like areas that are red and are leaking quite a bit. I asked if I could send pictures and was told it wouldn't be worth it because no one would see them until tomorrow. I call emergency room and they want to see him right away. I've spent so much time and money and now I am forced to spend another 110.00 so that someone can see my lab and get me some antibiotic. So, so disappointed. This has been a long an depressing 18 weeks. I pray that someone calls me and notifies a doctor as soon as possible. Read Less

Working for an animal shelter we see many animals that are severely injured - the staff at Camelot Court does not view these animals any different than any other clients pet - seeing that they receive the best possible care. My foster dog - Smirnoff - has been in to see the staff many times after being struck by a car just before Christmas 2015. Today I picked him up from what I hope will be the last of his surgeries for awhile; seeing him in such good spirits and so happy, and not stressed means so much. He has his quirks, and the staff works to make sure everyone (including him) stays safe when handling him, and that he has a positive experience in their care. And that to me is worth every penny. Came here because my cat had a nasty ear infection. Took a WHILE to get in, even though I had an appointment. It ran about 15 minutes late.. with an achy cat, it made the wait feel like forever. The doctor was wonderful though, with a bit of looking around, the usual poking and prodding, he knew exactly what I needed to make my little one feel better. When I went to pay I was especially shocked to have a bill for over $120.. it was my first visit, I had been told the first clinic visit was waived, and should likely only expect to pay for medication. Unfortunately it didn't pan out that way. Im still glad I went, I had to get some help for him, but I might check out other places before jumping in to a new vet any time soon. Read Less

This morning my husband, daughter and I walked in carrying our Daisy-Mae in to the clinic with a dog that we thought for sure was actively dying. She was unable to walk and days before she had stopped eating and drinking. We all were in tears and the doctors, tech and all of the staff just took Daisy from us and said we are going to run some tests, we do not believe she is dying. They did blood work and took x-rays... she ruptured her L-5 vertebra and was suffering from severe paralysis. They were able to help her and she walked out of the clinic on her own accord!. My wife and I have been taking our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel to Camelot Animal Clinic for the past 2-3 years. Having had animals growing up, I've probably met and worked with about 5-6 different vets, and since moving to Overland Park, my wife and I are absolutely thrilled about having a solid vet we love recommending to friends and family, and happens to be the best one overall I've had with each of my dogs. My wife and I can't say enough about Dr. Dinges and the Camelot Court Animal Clinic. We were referred to this animal clinic after we got our cavalier king Charles spaniel, and through getting our dog spayed (she was a high risk) to our most recent visit. Our pup was having some bathroom problems and we felt like dog parents that we were potentially failing with our first dog...until our last visit with Dr. Dinges. Not only did he create some effective plans (which have worked wonders), our one-on-one appointment made us feel like we truly had a Dog Whisperer on our hands...Dr. Dinges attention to detail, and true passion for his craft comes through when he makes time for his patients. We walked in with problems and walked out empowered with solutions. In a world where good customer service seems to be escaping, its awesome when you find a place that from the owner and through all of the other vets and staff members, that they love their job, and give A+ service to their customers.
