The reception staff has always been pleasant and friendly but the rest of the staff there has either been extremely rude or not helpful during EVERY experience we have had with our pet. We gave this place a few extra chances because it is so conveniently located for us, but will never make that mistake again and bring either of our animals here for services. I am a first time puppy owner and I have started going to Arbor Creek Animal Hospital for check-ups. They are so informative and friendly. Even if you have no question you will learn something and no question is a bad question, which I love. Remind you I had my visit with a 9 week old puppy, 4 year old (human :)), and 2 year old (human :)). I did not feel rushed even with my two small children with me on our puppy check-up. We take our three French Bulldogs here and we are so very happy with Dr. Tarrant. He spends a lot of time with us during our appointments and provides excellent care and good advice on their care and well being. I've even emailed him with questions and he always responds in a timely manner. He has performed nare surgery on two of our dogs and both procedures went smoothly. One of my Frenchies is currently receiving acupuncture and cold laser treatments for a recently diagnosed case of IVDD and these treatments have made a world of difference in his healing. Dr. Tarrant also provided a very detailed first dog checkup for each one. By way of comparison, I took my daughter's Doxiepoo puppy to his first checkup with my daughter's vet and the visit was about 7 minutes long with no communication or input. Dr. Tarrant does a very detailed first dog visit and he provided training on specific care for our breed. He is truly a partner with us in maintaining our dog's health. Dr. Tarrant (Mike) and Natasha and all of their staff have been so good to our dog, Ashes, and my family. We had a business near them and started taking our previous dog to them, sort of by default. However, after hearing stories about some other places, we began to realize just how lucky we were to find them. My dog loves to go there (unlike another place I've taken him to) and runs for their front door as soon as we get out of the car. I feel that says a lot about how he's treated there. Arbor Creek is the best! Penelope Chihuahua had to come visit when she followed her older sister and jumped off the bed, breaking some toes! They were able to see her right away and took very good care of her, even when she didn't want to wear her foot bandages! Saved my dog!! My Lab had been vomiting for 3 days and they let me drop her off, they cared for her all day and then did a vet exam that day even though their schedule was full. I truly belive if it wasn't for the compassion the staff have our baby Lexi wouldn't be here with us today. After an awful experience at an emergency vet that couldn't/wouldn't offer any treatment for our pup we called Arbor Creek. After explaining what was going on they made sure they had time to get her in that day. The staff is so kind and genuinely care about the wellbeing of everyone. Lexi has a long road to get better but I have no doubt that with the help of this hospital we will get her there. Dr. Tarrant and his staff were excellent with our Yorkshire Terrier. He took the time to get to know us and educate us on the next step of growth for our puppy. When we first moved to Olathe we continued to commute to Prairie Village for our vet/boarding services. However, after hearing great comments from neighbors about Arbor Creek, after a year or so we decided to give it a try. We have since transitioned all of our services for our Lab here. The prognosis was grim for my 13 year old Lhasa, who was diagnosed with Laryngeal Paralysis.  Rather than put him through surgery to improve his breathing, which was expensive and questionable if a 13 year old would even survive the surgery, I took him to Dr. Tarrant.The Chinese herbs prescribed improved my Lhasa's breathing within 2 weeks (and also cured his incontinence!).  As he aged, we added acupuncture to his treatment.My dear Lhasa, lived to the ripe old age of 16 1/2, and enjoyed a quality life, thanks to the care received at Arbor Creek.All my dogs are now under the care of Dr. Tarrant and Dr. Smith.  Additionally, Dr. Tarrant has provided treatment for some of our foster dogs and never charged for his time doing so.I highly recommend Arbor Creek Animal Hospital! Dr. Tarrant took good care of my dog until last month, which unfortunately led to my dog's death. Literally. My dog had started having flatulence and was making snoring/grunting sounds when sleeping. She was absolutely fine, otherwise. I took her in to ask him several questions, and to purchase food. He offered a powder supplement made by Karbo Essentials to be used as a probiotic to try to lessen the flatulence. I administered it that night. The next morning, she had diarrhea. I called to inquire about a possible allergy. He said there wasn't anything in it that would cause an allergic reaction, yet it gave my dog immediate diarrhea. Therefore, I continued to give it to her, and 3 days later, she vomited and diarrhea'd with blood. I called him and he recommended I take her to the pet hospital so they could treat and monitor that night. She was treated aggressively, and 1 1/2 days later I was able to pick her up, but she seemed very lethargic. She couldn't stand up on her own the entire night. The next morning I took her back to the ER. They x-rayed and found fluid around her lungs. I took her home to let her rest in peace, knowing she was dying. ***I called Dr. Tarrant's office number, and it said to call (785) --- ---- for an emergency. I called him and left an urgent message. NO RETURN CALL. That night, I took her back to the hospital to have her euthanized. I called his office Monday at noon to ask why my call wasn't returned. He said he never received the message, and that his emergencies were referred to the hospital anyway. NO! His voice mail said emergencies were referred to the (785) number which was his wife's cell number. During this entire banter, he never even brought up that he knew my dog had DIED. I was APPALLED. I finally said to him, "You're aware she died, right?" He replied, "Yes, I was." THAT WAS ALL HE SAID. SHAME ON YOU, DR. TARRANT for your lack of any compassion whatsoever. I drove far and wide to get to your office for 5 years, and you didn't return an emergency call in my darkest hour of need, nor did you offer an acknowledgment of her death UNTIL I finally brought it up. Everyone is very nice at this hospital. Dr. Tarrant is awesome and very knowledgeable. My ball python has not eaten since last November and I was very worried. I visited once in April, and he game me some good advise andTofu, my snake a vitamin B12 shot I believe to help with appetite. It didn't work, so I came back. Dr. Tarrant force fed Tofu. It was rather messy. I wouldn't have been able to do it myself. He said to try to feed her again the next day because it's going to storm in a couple of days and snakes eat better before storms. I was really worried Tofu wouldn't eat, but she did and one more time after that! And Kasey(sorry if I spelled your name wrong) called a couple of days later to check on Tofu! Great staff all-around! I brought my 9 week old Cane Corso Mix into Arbor Creek for the first time for an emergency visit this week and i was blown away by my experience. Judy and Alyson were extremely helpful, both over the phone before-hand and when we arrived. I was all out of sorts and worried about my puppy of course, but felt much more at ease the second we walked in the door. They had a room already waiting for us, and Alyson was very understanding and thorough in explaining to me what they were doing and why they were doing it. After just a few minutes of being in the room with Alyson, i felt comfortable knowing my baby's health was in their hands. We did not have to wait long at all before Dr. Tarrant came in to exam Bo. He was very polite, smiled a lot, and introduced himself right away. He was also very thorough, explaining everything along the way. He wanted to keep Bo for the afternoon, which i appreciated for more than one reason. Although i was beyond worried about my puppy, i had to get to work as soon as possible to avoid getting in trouble and any other vet could have just told me to take him home and keep an eye on him. It also just made me feel better that he wanted to keep him to watch him, even though by this time he seemed to be doing okay, he wanted to be sure before sending him home. They took care of my puppy all day, making sure he had plenty of toys, and a yummy lunch:)This all happened just yesterday, and i have already cancelled Bo's future appointment with his old vet and rescheduled it with Arbor Creek, and i haven't stopped bragging about my experience since i walked out that door last night with a happy, healthy puppy.If you love your pets as much as i do, Arbor Creek is the only way to go. Dr Tarrant and his staff...wow. Absolutely awesome. We took our dog for a check up and some shots, and definitely took him to the right place. They got us in quickly with minimal paperwork. After the initial check by the nurse, it was only a few minutes until Dr Tarant came in. Everyone treated us and our dog incredibly well. The office isn't huge but is clean and comfortable. Despite being in a shopping area, there is plenty of parking and room for the pets to do their business before heading in. Dr Tarrant did his check and made a few recommendations, but never pressured us or made us feel guilty if we said no. He tried to educate us and make our dog feel his best. He is also big in to the natural stuff, which is probably how I would be as a vet! He doesn't want to pump the animals full of sketchy or unnecessary stuff. Office fee is $45, plus whatever is done or purchased. Seems fair to me. We've found a great vet! Read Less

Dr. Tarrant, Natasha, and the rest of the staff are AMAZING! We have been going to him for years with our two dogs, Loren and Macey. I can honestly say that Dr. Tarrant and his staff love my dogs just as much as I do. My older dog, Loren recently broke her leg, and Dr. Tarrant was able to give us 3 options for her treatment. Then last week when my dog broke her splint for the second time in 2 days, he got creative and made a stronger splint that won't break apart with my 75 lb. dog. I can not even begin to tell you how impressed with this pet hospital I am! Dr. Tarrant is fabulous and he staff are warm and caring as well. I went to this hospital because I had an emergency with my dog and in a panic called after hours. Fortunately, for myself and my dog they answered! My dog required surgery that night and the doctor stayed after to talk to me about the procedure and what to expect in the upcoming days/weeks! I left that night feeling confident that my dog was going to be ok and had been in great hands! On our first follow up appointment Dr. Tarrant once again proved to not only be a great vet but a great person! I am a stay at home mom with two small children and a pet that I was trying to limit the time on his wound. You can imagine I had my hands full, Dr. Tarrant offered to carry my dog out to the car.
