We took our chocolate lab here to get her leg amputated, the experience we had with doctor Anderson and the after hours nursing staff was AMAZING. We had such an amazing experience that when our Pom got sick we didn’t hesitate to take him in. Our first appointment they said “allergies” sent him home with prednisone. The prednisone wasn’t helping and he got worst Saturday night. So we had to take him to an ER vet. They took 3 X-rays and said everything inside looked perfect. No collapsing trachea, no heart worms, his lung and heart looked fine but his throat was inflamed from coughing. They sent him home with cough tabs and said bring him to his normal vet the next business day. So we brought him back here. I had mission med vet send over the X-rays so we wouldn’t have to pay for them again, and the vet we saw said they were too “blurry” and we had to redo them. She also said she didn’t see a heart worm test and pushed us to do another one. Even after I said we already got him cleared for heart worms at the ERvet. But after another 400$ she said 🤷🏻♀️ he has a collapsing trachea (after mission med vet said he didn’t) there’s nothing else we can do for him. EVEN AFTER I SAID HIS TREATMENT PLAN WASNT WORKING. I ended up calling the ERvet we saw the previous Saturday where they went BACK over the X-rays and told me they were NOT blurry. And they DIDNT see a collapsing trachea, which was the first thing they did at the ERvet. They refused to prescribe me an antibiotic or a sedative for bear to be able to sleep at night. Mission med vet ended up doing all of this for us. And after less than 12 hours on the antibiotic bears getting better. Less coughing.
Do not go here. I feel like they didn’t listen to anything I said. They conned me out of another 350$ for unnecessary tests and refused to help me after I called to get the results from oncology. Which no one ever discussed with me. Do not waste your time, energy, or money they do not care about your pet. At least Tina Weingartner doesn’t. . Go to Fairway Vet.

I have bringing my fur babies to Blackbob Pet hospital for over 10 years. I have used both their boarding facilities and veterinary clinic and both have exceeded my expectations every time. About 3 months ago I lost a beloved cat to cancer and took her there for the euthanasia process. They were so sympathetic and caring and sent a beautiful card with her paw prints as a memorial gift. I would highly recommend Blackbob Pet hospital to anyone seeking great care for their own animal family members.

I've been really happy with my experiences here. I'm a first-time pet owner, and the staff has been wonderful about explaining things clearly and offering information and advice. I chose Blackbob Pet Hospital despite the fact that it's a drive for me, because they offer every service I could imagine needing - I wanted to have a place to take my cat whenever he needs anything. I've been really pleased so far, and I'm happy to have a relationship in place with a wonderful staff that clearly cares deeply about their charges!

If you care about the well being of your pet do NOT take them here. My family has been using this vet for over 10 years and the past few experiences have been nothing but neglect. This place just wants to take your money. Over priced services usually result in top of the line employees and service this place has failed to do both. My poor dog is in pain and missing all the hair from her arm due to neglect from the staff. Failing to give me information and take care of my pet to their full abilities. My dog got staples last Wednesday, I was never spoken to about a second appointment or even asked a day I was available to come. When I called the vet to find out what I should be doing with my dog because I was concerned if I should take her bandage off myself after I have referred to her paper work that just list a break down of everything I was asked to pay) they respond “you were suppose to be here Saturday and since you weren’t there’s a risk for infection” I asked to speak to someone in charge because I was shocked. They failed to call me after her appointment to see if she was alright. They failed to set up a second appointment but took it upon themselves to try and blame me and essentially get more money out of me. They also neglected to give me any of this information of my pets follow up care in paperwork so there’s no miscommunication between your staff and clients. My dog now has a cone on her head and a rash covering her arm. After I pay for the cone I’m told “we’ll need to see her Monday” I suggest asking your client what day/ time works best for them closest to the date their dog needs to be seen and then give them a paper copy of all the information you need so you don’t run into these problems in the future. I’m very disappointed. I came her for quality care for my baby and feel like I got taken advantage of and ripped off!

And my sweet Bindi dog gets really excited going in there as well because they all love on her so much. All that love overshadows the shots or treatment she may be receiving. That's good stuff!

I brought our family cat in just before closing time without an appointment. I had never been there before but they made time for me and stayed past closing time to run tests. They were EXTREMELY attentive and showed Vince lots of love even though we were new. They also waived some of their fees for me and checked on him the next day. They even set aside some treats for me to swing by and pick up for him a couple days later. I would highly recommend them.

My princess almost died during labor trying to deliver a large and stuck baby. after 2 visits to different vets who done nothing for her but charge us my son found this pet hospital who said come on in and we will see what we can do. as soon as we got there they greeted us and asked if this was Reagan. they carefully took her and got started in saving her life. these wonderful angels of a team not only saved my baby girl but kept us updated on her surgery and aftercare. this hospital and staff cared deeply for my furbaby like she was their own and today she is alive and well thanks to the staff at blackbob animal hospital whereas the other 2 vets we took her to offered to put her to sleep . I have been a customer at this practice since before they moved to this location and through multiple pets. They compassionately took care of my aging companion through lengthy testing, surgery and recovery. They found ways to ensure his comfort and quality of life while helping me to manage the expense.
Now, with a new youthful member of our family, they treat him with that same compassion while advising us of new preventative treatments to help him be healthy.
They are a busy office, but work to devote the time needed to listen and care for my pet.

I started going to Blackbob Pet Hospital in 2012 when I moved to KC with my 6 year old dog, Zeus. They treated Zeus so well the entire time up through having to put him down last December. In addition to routine visits, Zeus had to have a few different surgeries, and I always felt comfortable with him in their care. Dr. Hughes, and Dr. McRell are fantastic (Dr. Bieberly is no longer there, but she was also great with Zeus)!
I recently adopted a new puppy, and I have no hesitation having Blackbob as her vet and daycare. All of the staff are so sweet to her!
Blackbob is affordable, and has never pushed for unnecessary services or treatments. They look out for what's best for you and your pet.

I have been using Dr. Meyer for my pet care since 1997 shortly after I got my first Wheaten terrier. I had used another vet previously for a short time and lost trust in him when I felt he abused my dog. Dr. Meyer quickly built my trust in her with her caring manner and knowledge of pet problems and diseases. I love Dr. Meyer! I won't trust another vet with my dog's care. Her staff and Karen, especially, are wonderful caring people. One night I dreamed Dr. Meyer moved out of town and I could no longer depend on her for my dogs' care - it was one of those dreams that you wake feeling lucky it was just a dream. LOL. I always recommend Dr. Meyer to people when they ask about a good vet they can trust. When your fur kid's life depends on someone's knowledge and caring, you have to know in your heart they are getting the best care you can give them. I feel Dr. Meyer provides this for me! Give her clinic a try, you won't be disappointed!

They are always busy, always over booked, and always rush through things. They recommend slot of unnecessary things. They wanted to charge me $400 to do all these tests to figure out what was wrong with my dog, I took my dog to a different vet, that vet was able to do 1 test and figure out immiedely figure out what was wrong. Blackbobs prices are very inflated, they try to do unnecessary tests to charge people more. I never see the doctor longer than 2 min, it's always the nurses who you have to go back and forth and never know what's going on.

After returning home with him I realized his skin was blood red under his coat. He was sensitive to the touch and it took several days for him to scab over. I will NEVER take my dog back and I would highly insist anybody that loves their pet, please go somewhere else.

My wife, our English Bulldog and I recently moved to Olathe. Our pup has a history with outdoor allergies and we expected some issues with the move to a different climate. A month or so in our new home she started scratching and itching. We decided to bring her to Blackbob Pet Hospital after reading some reviews online. We have had some issues with Vets in the pasted with our Bully so we went in with high expectations. Dr. Whitacre listened to our history and helped us choose a line of treatment that was best for our dog. They called the next day to follow-up which I thought was considerate and things were improving for our dog. We have since been back for some booster shots and regular exams and the staff has always been kind to us and our dog. We have not used the boarding service here but will consider it if we are ever need to.

We took our chocolate lab here to get her leg amputated, the experience we had with doctor Anderson and the after hours nursing staff was AMAZING. We had such an amazing experience that when our Pom got sick we didn’t hesitate to take him in. Our first appointment they said “allergies” sent him home with prednisone. The prednisone wasn’t helping and he got worst Saturday night. So we had to take him to an ER vet. They took 3 X-rays and said everything inside looked perfect. No collapsing trachea, no heart worms, his lung and heart looked fine but his throat was inflamed from coughing. They sent him home with cough tabs and said bring him to his normal vet the next business day. So we brought him back here. I had mission med vet send over the X-rays so we wouldn’t have to pay for them again, and the vet we saw said they were too “blurry” and we had to redo them. She also said she didn’t see a heart worm test and pushed us to do another one. Even after I said we already got him cleared for heart worms at the ERvet. But after another 400$ she said 🤷🏻♀️ he has a collapsing trachea (after mission med vet said he didn’t) there’s nothing else we can do for him. EVEN AFTER I SAID HIS TREATMENT PLAN WASNT WORKING. I ended up calling the ERvet we saw the previous Saturday where they went BACK over the X-rays and told me they were NOT blurry. And they DIDNT see a collapsing trachea, which was the first thing they did at the ERvet. They refused to prescribe me an antibiotic or a sedative for bear to be able to sleep at night. Mission med vet ended up doing all of this for us. And after less than 12 hours on the antibiotic bears getting better. Less coughing.
Do not go here. I feel like they didn’t listen to anything I said. They conned me out of another 350$ for unnecessary tests and refused to help me after I called to get the results from oncology. Which no one ever discussed with me. Do not waste your time, energy, or money they do not care about your pet. At least Tina Weingartner doesn’t. . Go to Fairway Vet.

I only wanted my dog groomed and made an appointment for my dog. They require every shot and test under the sun to be done to my dog before he could be groomed costing hundreds of dollars. Completely unnecessary stuff. I believe the prices are ridiculously high. I ended up canceling my appointment and went else where.

I have bringing my fur babies to Blackbob Pet hospital for over 10 years. I have used both their boarding facilities and veterinary clinic and both have exceeded my expectations every time. About 3 months ago I lost a beloved cat to cancer and took her there for the euthanasia process. They were so sympathetic and caring and sent a beautiful card with her paw prints as a memorial gift. I would highly recommend Blackbob Pet hospital to anyone seeking great care for their own animal family members.

I've been really happy with my experiences here. I'm a first-time pet owner, and the staff has been wonderful about explaining things clearly and offering information and advice. I chose Blackbob Pet Hospital despite the fact that it's a drive for me, because they offer every service I could imagine needing - I wanted to have a place to take my cat whenever he needs anything. I've been really pleased so far, and I'm happy to have a relationship in place with a wonderful staff that clearly cares deeply about their charges!

If you care about the well being of your pet do NOT take them here. My family has been using this vet for over 10 years and the past few experiences have been nothing but neglect. This place just wants to take your money. Over priced services usually result in top of the line employees and service this place has failed to do both. My poor dog is in pain and missing all the hair from her arm due to neglect from the staff. Failing to give me information and take care of my pet to their full abilities. My dog got staples last Wednesday, I was never spoken to about a second appointment or even asked a day I was available to come. When I called the vet to find out what I should be doing with my dog because I was concerned if I should take her bandage off myself after I have referred to her paper work that just list a break down of everything I was asked to pay) they respond “you were suppose to be here Saturday and since you weren’t there’s a risk for infection” I asked to speak to someone in charge because I was shocked. They failed to call me after her appointment to see if she was alright. They failed to set up a second appointment but took it upon themselves to try and blame me and essentially get more money out of me. They also neglected to give me any of this information of my pets follow up care in paperwork so there’s no miscommunication between your staff and clients. My dog now has a cone on her head and a rash covering her arm. After I pay for the cone I’m told “we’ll need to see her Monday” I suggest asking your client what day/ time works best for them closest to the date their dog needs to be seen and then give them a paper copy of all the information you need so you don’t run into these problems in the future. I’m very disappointed. I came her for quality care for my baby and feel like I got taken advantage of and ripped off!

Love my Dr. Hughes =) She has held my hand and hugged my neck through three of my fur baby losses and now cares for my current. I don't live real close to the clinic but it's worth my drive! And my sweet Bindi dog gets really excited going in there as well because they all love on her so much. All that love overshadows the shots or treatment she may be receiving. That's good stuff!

I brought our family cat in just before closing time without an appointment. I had never been there before but they made time for me and stayed past closing time to run tests. They were EXTREMELY attentive and showed Vince lots of love even though we were new. They also waived some of their fees for me and checked on him the next day. They even set aside some treats for me to swing by and pick up for him a couple days later. I would highly recommend them.

My princess almost died during labor trying to deliver a large and stuck baby. after 2 visits to different vets who done nothing for her but charge us my son found this pet hospital who said come on in and we will see what we can do. as soon as we got there they greeted us and asked if this was Reagan. they carefully took her and got started in saving her life. these wonderful angels of a team not only saved my baby girl but kept us updated on her surgery and aftercare. this hospital and staff cared deeply for my furbaby like she was their own and today she is alive and well thanks to the staff at blackbob animal hospital whereas the other 2 vets we took her to offered to put her to sleep . I have been a customer at this practice since before they moved to this location and through multiple pets. They compassionately took care of my aging companion through lengthy testing, surgery and recovery. They found ways to ensure his comfort and quality of life while helping me to manage the expense.
Now, with a new youthful member of our family, they treat him with that same compassion while advising us of new preventative treatments to help him be healthy.
They are a busy office, but work to devote the time needed to listen and care for my pet.
I'm a loyal customer an recommend them highly.

I started going to Blackbob Pet Hospital in 2012 when I moved to KC with my 6 year old dog, Zeus. They treated Zeus so well the entire time up through having to put him down last December. In addition to routine visits, Zeus had to have a few different surgeries, and I always felt comfortable with him in their care. Dr. Hughes, and Dr. McRell are fantastic (Dr. Bieberly is no longer there, but she was also great with Zeus)!
I recently adopted a new puppy, and I have no hesitation having Blackbob as her vet and daycare. All of the staff are so sweet to her!
Blackbob is affordable, and has never pushed for unnecessary services or treatments. They look out for what's best for you and your pet.

I have been using Dr. Meyer for my pet care since 1997 shortly after I got my first Wheaten terrier. I had used another vet previously for a short time and lost trust in him when I felt he abused my dog. Dr. Meyer quickly built my trust in her with her caring manner and knowledge of pet problems and diseases. I love Dr. Meyer! I won't trust another vet with my dog's care. Her staff and Karen, especially, are wonderful caring people. One night I dreamed Dr. Meyer moved out of town and I could no longer depend on her for my dogs' care - it was one of those dreams that you wake feeling lucky it was just a dream. LOL. I always recommend Dr. Meyer to people when they ask about a good vet they can trust. When your fur kid's life depends on someone's knowledge and caring, you have to know in your heart they are getting the best care you can give them. I feel Dr. Meyer provides this for me! Give her clinic a try, you won't be disappointed!

They are always busy, always over booked, and always rush through things. They recommend slot of unnecessary things. They wanted to charge me $400 to do all these tests to figure out what was wrong with my dog, I took my dog to a different vet, that vet was able to do 1 test and figure out immiedely figure out what was wrong. Blackbobs prices are very inflated, they try to do unnecessary tests to charge people more. I never see the doctor longer than 2 min, it's always the nurses who you have to go back and forth and never know what's going on.

If it was possible to rate this pet torture hospital a negative five,I would in a heartbeat. I took my Scottish Terrier in to have him groomed in July. After returning home with him I realized his skin was blood red under his coat. He was sensitive to the touch and it took several days for him to scab over. I will NEVER take my dog back and I would highly insist anybody that loves their pet, please go somewhere else.

The doctors are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, as is most of the support staff. Dr. Meyer and Dr. Bieberly are wonderful and do most, if not all, of their surgeries. They won't put your pet through any unnecessary treatment or cost. I think some customer service training might benefit the support staff.

My wife, our English Bulldog and I recently moved to Olathe. Our pup has a history with outdoor allergies and we expected some issues with the move to a different climate. A month or so in our new home she started scratching and itching. We decided to bring her to Blackbob Pet Hospital after reading some reviews online. We have had some issues with Vets in the pasted with our Bully so we went in with high expectations. Dr. Whitacre listened to our history and helped us choose a line of treatment that was best for our dog. They called the next day to follow-up which I thought was considerate and things were improving for our dog. We have since been back for some booster shots and regular exams and the staff has always been kind to us and our dog. We have not used the boarding service here but will consider it if we are ever need to.
