I have gone to southside for about 20 years. Dr Schieffer was a great Vet. After he retired I gave them several chances. Once with my Cat who accidentally got himself stuck in the garage door. No X-rays but the doc assured me it was broken. It feels all crunchy she said. And since we are closing soon we can’t really treat him. They instructed us to go to blue pearl. Well several hundred dollars later, no broke bones.
Gave them several more chances. Probably shouldn’t after that point. These new owners care only about collecting your money not the care of your animals. Today was the last straw for me, this is no longer your neighborhood vet.

When we had to put our sweet kitty down at 20 years old, everyone just held us as we cried our eyes out and they were very sweet and caring. So much love and compassion. Overall, I was impressed by the visit! I thought the vet did a thorough exam on my new kitten that wasn't eating. He had a special food at the office for her to try. She ate it while we were there and now has transitioned to regular canned kitten food. He offered to do tests but let me know that it was up to me to decide how to proceed. He listened to my concerns and the history I had for the kitten. We did have to wait a while to be seen, but it wasn't terrible and we were able to wait in an exam room. The vet was very kind, unlike the one we had seen the day before. We will continue care for our kitties at Southside. The other staff was also kind and have taken care of us for a weight check as well.

Awesome, compassionate staff. Great value. I took my 9 year old rabbit here for a check-up due to an eye infection, and the doctor was super gentle and nice when we had to discuss euthanasia as a possible eventual outcome due to his age. We are trying antibiotics first, and we will see what happens from there. I felt an enormous weight lifted off of my chest when we left our appointment.

I have been going to Southside Pet Hospital since I adopted my two dogs 3 years ago. The office staff has always been super friendly and make my dogs excited to go into the vet's office. The vets are all very nice and patient with my dogs. They always explain the costs of any procedures up front so you aren't hit with a ton of fees you didn't know about at the register. It has been a great experience for me and my dogs.

Especially, Snow because she's has anxiety and just the way they treat her makes it easier for her! I want to give a shout out to the groomer because she wants Snow to be as comfortable as possible but to also get the job done! I've been taking me dog her for a few years now and have been incredibly impressed every time. After my dog was attacked at a dog park they fit me in to have her seen immediately and we're able to do her surgery that night. The staff was incredibly supportive and understanding in a very emotional time for me and made me feel very confident in the care my pup was recieving. I wouldn't€ take my best friend anywhere else, they're truly great at what they do!

I stop in and get my Heart worm for my dogs every month and have for years. Once I started using the clinic that the City of Olathe offers at a great price, things have not been the same. I still have to use the vet for the heart worm test and buy their heart worm meds from the vet. They are healthy and don't need regular visits to the vet. I do use Vanessa the groomer and all 3 of us my self and 2 dogs really like her. My point is this: I went in today only to be told I cant buy my pets heart worm anymore because they have not seen my dogs since they did the heart worm test 3-25-16, Their shots are due 3-6-17 so between now 1-13-17 and 3-6-17 I have no heart worm because the vet has not physically touched my dogs since 3-6-16. Yet you send me emails wanting me to buy 6 -12 months of heart worm? I cant even get 1 month from you. I will continue to use the City Of Olathe Animal Clinic for annual vacations and I will find another vet too. I like the front office staff I just think your practice lost it when they moved to the new place and its all about $$ now.

They claimed that all services needed for our pet would be covered with this plan, this is a LIE. We spent hundreds of dollars out of pocket trying to save a dog that we were later told by TWO vets that the humane thing was to put him to sleep.

As of today, we will no longer be customers of Southside Pet Hospital. We've used them since 2007 for our three dogs and since they moved to their new location on K7/Santa Fe their service has gone downhill. My family has walked away disappointed multiple times. Not only have they lost their best staff (except for Barbara, always wonderful), they also changed medications for heartworm at an increased cost to us, and they took away walk-ins on Saturday in September which we've come to depend on. Worst of all, I tried voicing my concerns to their staff and was made to feel rather unimportant to them. Until they improve, and go back to valuing their long-standing loyal customers, I won't recommend doing business with them.

Southside has a very caring staff. They always have a smile for me and my dog. My dog went to several vets before I became his owner and no one was able to help with his condition. After his first visit to Southside his severe dermatitis was treated properly and under control within 2 days. I have taken all of my pets to Southside over the years and will NEVER go elsewhere.

We have been using Southside since we moved to Olathe over 3 years ago for my fur-baby, Cali. She is a 7 year old rottweiler and loves going to the vet. We use their paw-plan, and it really makes budgeting for your pets easy! We have gotten multiple procedures done, from nail cauterizing due to a constant breaking nail to getting her teeth cleaned. Their new building/location is beautiful. Barb welcomes me by name every time my children and I come in and offers amazing service. The veterinarians have all been very respectful. Thanks for always taking care of my fur-child.

I have been bringing my pets to Southside for over 30 years. I have always had wonderful service from smiling and helpful employees. They helped me through the loss of my cats that were 18 years old several years ago. I knew they would treat them with kindness and respect. Now they are caring for two cats, age 4 and one dog age 7. My little dog is very shy and nervous and they are so good to her. I would never take my pets to anyone else. Thanks to all of them for being really great!

I used to love this vet's office and recommended them to anyone that needed a vet. Unfortunately, they have now gone "corporate" and changed vets which has resulted in a major decline in their quality. I took my dog in for an eye infection. First we were kept waiting for 40 mins despite having an appointment. Then the new vet proceeded to perform a tear production test, gram stain, and fluoroscopy test before giving me the drops I already knew my dog needed. The bill came to nearly $200. I have been treated without insurance for an eye infection myself for less than half of this including the drops. To confirm whether this was standard practice or not I contacted another vet in the area. They told me that while the fluoroscopy test was necessary that the tear production test and gram stain were not. In fact, I was told in the 10 years she had worked there she had never seen a gram stain done to diagnose an eye infection. I think it is awful when veterinarian's exploit a people's love for their pets in order to make an excessive amount of money. Southside Pet Hospital has definitely lost a customer today and it saddens me to see what was once a great place to take your pets become another corporate money pit.

Southside Pet Hospital is the best. I LOVE Dr. Gray! He did the spay on my kitten and he did an amazing job with our senior dog's teeth cleaning. Even though our pup is not an easy dog to work with and can be very hard to examine. The surgery went just fine and we couldn't be happier. Their paw plans make veterinary care affordable so that you can avoid financial hardships and keep your pets and your wallets healthy and happy. I just can't say enough good things about this office or their staff!

When I moved to Olathe about 10 years ago I went to several other vets before I found Southside Pet Hospital through a recommendation from a friend. The other vet's did their job but I didn't feel as if their staff really cared. Southside Pet Hospital and their staff are the best! I love my vet, Dr. Baldridge and all the office staff, especially Barb.When I lost my Maggie they sent me a wonderful card and a paw print of Maggie. That meant the world to me. I am so glad I found them!

The vet was very kind, unlike the one we had seen the day before. We will continue care for our kitties at Southside. The other staff was also kind and have taken care of us for a weight check as well.

Awesome, compassionate staff. Great value. I took my 9 year old rabbit here for a check-up due to an eye infection, and the doctor was super gentle and nice when we had to discuss euthanasia as a possible eventual outcome due to his age. We are trying antibiotics first, and we will see what happens from there. I felt an enormous weight lifted off of my chest when we left our appointment.

I have been going to Southside Pet Hospital since I adopted my two dogs 3 years ago. The office staff has always been super friendly and make my dogs excited to go into the vet's office. The vets are all very nice and patient with my dogs. They always explain the costs of any procedures up front so you aren't hit with a ton of fees you didn't know about at the register. It has been a great experience for me and my dogs.

Great service! I have taken my lab Snow-White here on various occasions and I appreciate the good friendly customer service, genuine kindness with the pets. Especially, Snow because she's has anxiety and just the way they treat her makes it easier for her! I want to give a shout out to the groomer because she wants Snow to be as comfortable as possible but to also get the job done! I always recommend South-Side to my friends because its close to home and I trust them with my lab.

Southside Pet Hospital was amazing with my dog, Scout and me. I am a first-time dog owner, the office staff, the veterinarian, and her assistant were the most gracious people. They all put my mind at ease that I was a good dog mom and that Scout is a great dog. The veterinarian was thorough with the information and gave me time to ask any questions. I've been taking me dog her for a few years now and have been incredibly impressed every time. After my dog was attacked at a dog park they fit me in to have her seen immediately and we're able to do her surgery that night. The staff was incredibly supportive and understanding in a very emotional time for me and made me feel very confident in the care my pup was recieving. I wouldn't€ take my best friend anywhere else, they're truly great at what they do!

I stop in and get my Heart worm for my dogs every month and have for years. Once I started using the clinic that the City of Olathe offers at a great price, things have not been the same. I still have to use the vet for the heart worm test and buy their heart worm meds from the vet. They are healthy and don't need regular visits to the vet. I do use Vanessa the groomer and all 3 of us my self and 2 dogs really like her. My point is this: I went in today only to be told I cant buy my pets heart worm anymore because they have not seen my dogs since they did the heart worm test 3-25-16, Their shots are due 3-6-17 so between now 1-13-17 and 3-6-17 I have no heart worm because the vet has not physically touched my dogs since 3-6-16. Yet you send me emails wanting me to buy 6 -12 months of heart worm? I cant even get 1 month from you. I will continue to use the City Of Olathe Animal Clinic for annual vacations and I will find another vet too. I like the front office staff I just think your practice lost it when they moved to the new place and its all about $$ now.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE VETS OFFICE!!! This office took advantage of our beloved pet being sick and convinced my husband to purchase a plan we didn't need. They claimed that all services needed for our pet would be covered with this plan, this is a LIE. We spent hundreds of dollars out of pocket trying to save a dog that we were later told by TWO vets that the humane thing was to put him to sleep.

As of today, we will no longer be customers of Southside Pet Hospital. We've used them since 2007 for our three dogs and since they moved to their new location on K7/Santa Fe their service has gone downhill. My family has walked away disappointed multiple times. Not only have they lost their best staff (except for Barbara, always wonderful), they also changed medications for heartworm at an increased cost to us, and they took away walk-ins on Saturday in September which we've come to depend on. Worst of all, I tried voicing my concerns to their staff and was made to feel rather unimportant to them. Until they improve, and go back to valuing their long-standing loyal customers, I won't recommend doing business with them.

Southside has a very caring staff. They always have a smile for me and my dog. My dog went to several vets before I became his owner and no one was able to help with his condition. After his first visit to Southside his severe dermatitis was treated properly and under control within 2 days. I have taken all of my pets to Southside over the years and will NEVER go elsewhere.

We have been using Southside since we moved to Olathe over 3 years ago for my fur-baby, Cali. She is a 7 year old rottweiler and loves going to the vet. We use their paw-plan, and it really makes budgeting for your pets easy! We have gotten multiple procedures done, from nail cauterizing due to a constant breaking nail to getting her teeth cleaned. Their new building/location is beautiful. Barb welcomes me by name every time my children and I come in and offers amazing service. The veterinarians have all been very respectful. Thanks for always taking care of my fur-child.

All of the Doctors and Staff are so attentive to my Fur Baby's special needs. All of the doctors treat him lovingly and don't try to push medicine/treatments on us. They also look for the most economical treatment possible. I believe my Milo has seen all four Doctors at some point and although Dr. Grey is his favorite, he has never had a bad experience with anyone in the clinic. Highly Recommend!!!!!

I have been bringing my pets to Southside for over 30 years. I have always had wonderful service from smiling and helpful employees. They helped me through the loss of my cats that were 18 years old several years ago. I knew they would treat them with kindness and respect. Now they are caring for two cats, age 4 and one dog age 7. My little dog is very shy and nervous and they are so good to her. I would never take my pets to anyone else. Thanks to all of them for being really great!

I used to love this vet's office and recommended them to anyone that needed a vet. Unfortunately, they have now gone "corporate" and changed vets which has resulted in a major decline in their quality. I took my dog in for an eye infection. First we were kept waiting for 40 mins despite having an appointment. Then the new vet proceeded to perform a tear production test, gram stain, and fluoroscopy test before giving me the drops I already knew my dog needed. The bill came to nearly $200. I have been treated without insurance for an eye infection myself for less than half of this including the drops. To confirm whether this was standard practice or not I contacted another vet in the area. They told me that while the fluoroscopy test was necessary that the tear production test and gram stain were not. In fact, I was told in the 10 years she had worked there she had never seen a gram stain done to diagnose an eye infection. I think it is awful when veterinarian's exploit a people's love for their pets in order to make an excessive amount of money. Southside Pet Hospital has definitely lost a customer today and it saddens me to see what was once a great place to take your pets become another corporate money pit.

Southside Pet Hospital is the best. I LOVE Dr. Gray! He did the spay on my kitten and he did an amazing job with our senior dog's teeth cleaning. Even though our pup is not an easy dog to work with and can be very hard to examine. The surgery went just fine and we couldn't be happier. Their paw plans make veterinary care affordable so that you can avoid financial hardships and keep your pets and your wallets healthy and happy. I just can't say enough good things about this office or their staff!

When I moved to Olathe about 10 years ago I went to several other vets before I found Southside Pet Hospital through a recommendation from a friend. The other vet's did their job but I didn't feel as if their staff really cared. Southside Pet Hospital and their staff are the best! I love my vet, Dr. Baldridge and all the office staff, especially Barb.When I lost my Maggie they sent me a wonderful card and a paw print of Maggie. That meant the world to me. I am so glad I found them!
