I adopted an older dog, then had an emergency and took her to Texas. I was pretty disappointed with the 2 vets I saw in TX, and their prices (3x as high). Winchester was a good find and much more reasonable rates. The vet's brother is a vet from my home town, so that built alot of trust. I have been taking my Maltese here for several years. Not once have I left disappointed (as I have with other places). The front office staff is very friendly and kind (I'm speaking of you, Robin!). I'm a person with TONS of questions, and the staff here is always patient with me, and is always willing to listen to my concern and answer all questions. Dr. Rucker is wonderful as well. He seems to truly care about my dog. I never leave feeling like there's more they could've done for my dog. Also, the groomer here is the BEST! Kind and Compassionate care. We had just started using their service when we found out that our furry family member had reached her end of days. They treated us with such compassion and love during this time even though we had only been a customer for a few weeks. Can't recommend them enough. Not only is the staff incredibly friendly and professional but Dr Rucker is genuinely invested in helping us make sure our dog ends up being the best family dog possible; providing us with tips and suggestions for her care and training. Dr Rucker and the entire staff are great. We've been taking our dogs to them for nearly 10 years. Our one dog had a health issue while we were out of town and Dr Rucker was extremely helpfully by consulting with me by phone and calling in a prescription. Highly recommended. Read Less

I picked up my pet today, along with the items I left him with. They put those items in a grocery bag and I didn't think anything of it until I got home and unpacked his bag and found his items soaked with urine and feces. He wasn't bathed - which was fine since I picked him up on a Sunday and when I dropped him off for boarding I said I hope to make it back Sunday, but if we get delayed, I would be there Monday at 7 am. I don't mind that they didn't have time to bathe him, I was more concerns with the completely saturated soiled items. He has never went potty inside in over 6 years and never went in his kennel in boarding ever, even in a prior week long stay at Winchester. I assure you I will never use this facility again nor will I recommend it to anyone who cares for their pet and their wellbeing. We had to throw everything away that we left him with (a toy, 2 of our shirts, and a blanket - so he would feel more at ease) Nobody was friendly or even greeted us when we dropped him off, or when we picked him up. Just young scowling girls who acted annoyed by their job and burdened by people and animals. My blood is BOILING. In 3 days of boarding my dog lost 3 pounds, and he is only 40 pounds total size to begin with. How does this happen?Read Less

I am very pained that I subjected my dog to this boarding facility and the neglect he clearly faced by the staff. I have been involved with multiple animal rescues across several states for many years and the quality of care at this boarding facility within a privately owned veterinarian clinic none the less, is sub standard to even a county animal shelter based off of my own experience this week. Unfortunately we've become a frequent visitor lately with what our dog Zak has been dealing with. I appreciate how direct and honest Dr. Rucker is... And his staff is awesome!
