If you don't want your heart broken take your loved one to a different veterinarian. Chart not looked at prior to giving my dog an injection . My dog passed away in 36 hours and only had an ear infection when I took her in. The veteran looked at her chart and said that he shouldn't have given her the injection. I asked him what the side effects could be and he said that she would drink more and urinate more. When I called them about her death they tried to blame it on her age. And gave me every excuse possible. When I told them that I wanted to have her cremated and wanted her remains back the response was that it cost to have that done. they treat people like they are stupid. A pet to you is only an animal with dollar signs attached to them. Read Less

Had a great experience with my american bulldog at the vet. She has mammary gland cancer. They were able to diagnose her without sedation and I'm grateful for that. The techs and dr's are good with dealing with a animal that don't want to be messed with. They are also very cheap compared to the city. I get 2/3 more meds at half the cost. I also like the location it's remote in its own building and away from all distractions. Thanks for helping me in a timely manner as well same day can't beat that. And they follow up with phone calls and seem genuine. It's hard to find a vet that will deal with a large scared dog in pain they do it with ease. Read Less

I have a goat with an injured leg and I don't have a lot of money to spend, so I was calling clinics in the area for pricing on a visit, x-ray, splint and any other possible fees I might be expected to pay. It seems like the kind of thing a receptionist at a vet clinic would be prepared for seeing as every clinic I called treated me with kindness and respect. That is, until I called Cottonwood per someone's recommendation. I just got off the phone with their receptionist, and I was quite taken aback at how rude she was. I was on the phone with her all of 4 minutes before she started treating me like a nuisance. "I don't have time to answer you questions, so if you're serious about making an appointment I can do that, but if you're just calling around for pricing, I really don't have the time". I understand things can get busy, but there are far better ways of communicating with potential customers. (I can hold. I can leave my number for a call back). The excellent medical care administered by Dr. Erwin (and I feel certain the other physicians are equally competent) and the kind staff was reassuring. This is an amazing vet clinic. They are a bit more expensive then the other vet in Ottawa but they are worth every penny of it. They do both large and small animals. Before we started coming here they had not done alot with rabbits but they were more then willing to help with what they could. We have come to them for horses, cats, dogs, rabbits all with health issues and also to have animals put down (they send a sympathy card after). The staff is amazing, they will always remember your name. They have a secretary names Gina who is just an amazing person. She teaches puppy/dog classes that are WORTH IT! Petco charges $100 for 6 weeks of class; this clinic charges $65 for 7 weeks of class. They accept a Care Credit card and are more then happy to work with you in a payment situation. They do sell Science Diet food for both cats and dogs, along with leashes, collars, treats, toys and identification tags. I suggest going to this clinic to everyone! They are amazing with animals and really know what they are doing. Read Less
