We have known Brad Spain for a decade as he used to care for our pets in Garnett, and when our Lab developed many issues with cancer, pneumonia, etc. we took him to the best vet we know which is Dr. Spain. If you’re in the KC area or within an hour I would highly recommend taking your fur babies to Dr. Spain. There’s really no substitute for experience mixed with intellect and compassion.

I cannot fully explain just how much I love this place! I have a timid fur baby with a few health concerns, so I am rather picky when it comes to his care. I feel so comfortable taking my Scruffy here...
I cannot fully explain just how much I love this place! I have a timid fur baby with a few health concerns, so I am rather picky when it comes to his care. I feel so comfortable taking my Scruffy here for regular daycare and grooming because I know they will be gentle and patient with him. The staff are absolutely fabulous, I have never met so many lovely individuals in my life! They are always cheerful and friendly, even when it’s obvious that it’s busy. The people here truly love animals and treat your fur child like one of their own. I can ASSURE you that if you want the best environment, care and attention for your fur baby THIS is the place to go. I have been a client for over two years. You will have ZERO worries when your special love is here, because you will feel more than confident with their service and care!

Blue Valley Animal Hospital is the ONLY place we will trust with our Wheaten Terrier's regular vet care, (which is very regular, because he's a special case with a lot of doggy allergies!) boarding and grooming. Our dog is our baby, and we are very overprotective. BVAH is the only place I can leave him overnight and not worry, because I know he is in the best hands. We love Dr. Spain and his entire team! Being K-Staters ourselves, we also love that all three doctors are K-State Veterinary Medicine grads! This business is also extremely well run! The team at BVAH is efficient, kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and so, so caring. I'm so glad we found BVAH!

We love Blue Valley Animal Hospital! We have a fireball of a Maine Coon mix and they were so good with him. He got sick over Thanksgiving weekend and they made room for us right quick to treat him. They called us with updates since he had to stay at the hospital. We are truly grateful for their help. Wilson is just fine and back to his ornery self. We will be moving our other kitty over to this practice. Don't hesitate to bring your pet here.

Ultimately I understand the read my rabbit died wasn't of their doing. If more places wer open for emergency wit exotic pets this wouldn't hav happened but I will never use them again. I have more exotic pets and they will be going somewhere else. Yesterday I left an emotional vm no call back. I called seeing bout meds I paid for and they wouldn't take back which I understand but seeing as my pet died within an hour of leaving their office I think they coulda given some money back. Here my bunny has a respitory issue and they said wen they fed her the liquid mix the vet says don't give too much because she starts spitting out. No u go slowly cuz of high risk of aspiration pneumonia! I'm a nurse and that raised a red flag! I kno her illness got her but that was contributing factor thinking back. She probably inhaled some case they fed her too fast. Also when I called no one said sorry for my loss only sorry we can't take the meds back! Never ever. They say they're informed in exotics but I don't think so!

Dr. Spain saved my cats life! He was attacked by a dog and left barely clinging to life. Gandalf spent a week at BVAH and he is home now and doing better everyday. I made the mistake of going to Blue Pearl for emergency care and then transferred to BVAH after being robbed blind by the scammers over there! I now use Dr. Spain as my primary for Gandalf and our new puppy as well! Thank you BVAH!!!

The staff at Blue Valley Animal Hospital is fabulous. I recently took both my dogs in because they weren't feeling well and they were so attentive to them. They gave me recommendations to help them feel better rather than running a bunch of tests. Both of my dogs have also been for doggie day care as well as boarding and loved it. I would highly recommend them for veterinary, boarding and daycare!

I was a brand new dog owner when I first adopted my dog. She had drainage coming from her eye that had gone untreated by the shelter. I had emailed a couple of clinics for an appointment that evening not expecting to get an appointment until the next week . Thankfully, I was able to get an appointment with Blue Valley Animal Hospital the very next morning. Little did I know, my newly adopted pup had a number of issues, and it required frequent trips (some spontaneous) to BVAH in just that week. Very stressful! However the Blue Valley staff was very accommodating, and Dr. Spain was awesome in explaining treatment and procedures, and calming any nerves as a first time owner. Dr. Gardner is great as well, and both Vets make sure to answer any and all questions during all of my visits. Almost a year later, and I really couldn't imagine going anywhere else for my dog's treatment. She's now healthy and happy, and I greatly appreciate all of the Blue Valley Staff for their efficiency. Would definitely recommend!

Monday evening I noticed my dog Sebastian was not using his hind left leg and if he did he was unable to bear any weight on it. The next morning I showed up at Blue Valley Animal Hospital at 7 AM without an appointment. They were able to see Sebastian within minutes, doing xrays and a thorough exam to find out he had a muscle
sprain. He was home and resting within the hour. I am so please with the service and expertise. I will definitely be back, and will also be brining my dog Harry as a patient as well. Thank you Dr. Gardner, and Abby, for being so nice.

Highly recommend Blue Valley Animal Hospital. I live in KCMO, but choose to drive 35 minutes to bring my kitten to Dr. Gardner. Dr. Mary Gardner was the perfect balance of professional and caring. Knowledgeable and understanding. It was tough to put down our sick dog down but she came to our house so our dog didn't have to travel and they even sent flowers the next day. She will now be our go to vet for our other dog. Dr. Brad and her dog sister Maisy saved our 15 year old dog Josie's life. Dr. Brad diagnosed Josie with an ulcer and she had lost lots of blood because of bad information I got from another vet office. He preformed a transfusion using 1year old Maisies blood and Josie is good as new. Well as good as a 15 year old mixed breed can be. The staff is great. Maisy is so excited to go to doggy day care and the price is the best I have found.

We love Dr. Gardner and Dr. Spain. They have taken amazing care of my pup as well as my parents dogs. Their entire staff is amazing and they always make me feel at ease knowing they are in good hands....

I was a brand new dog owner when I first adopted my dog. She had drainage coming from her eye that had gone untreated by the shelter. I had emailed a couple of clinics for an appointment that evening not expecting to get an appointment until the next week . Thankfully, I was able to get an appointment with Blue Valley Animal Hospital the very next morning. Little did I know, my newly adopted pup had a number of issues, and it required frequent trips (some spontaneous) to BVAH in just that week. Very stressful! However the Blue Valley staff was very accommodating, and Dr. Spain was awesome in explaining treatment and procedures, and calming any nerves as a first time owner. Dr. Gardner is great as well, and both Vets make sure to answer any and all questions during all of my visits. Almost a year later, and I really couldn't imagine going anywhere else for my dog's treatment. She's now healthy and happy, and I greatly appreciate all of the Blue Valley Staff for their efficiency. Would definitely recommend!

Monday evening I noticed my dog Sebastian was not using his hind left leg and if he did he was unable to bear any weight on it. The next morning I showed up at Blue Valley Animal Hospital at 7 AM without an appointment. They were able to see Sebastian within minutes, doing xrays and a thorough exam to find out he had a muscle
sprain. He was home and resting within the hour. I am so please with the service and expertise. I will definitely be back, and will also be brining my dog Harry as a patient as well. Thank you Dr. Gardner, and Abby, for being so nice.

Highly recommend Blue Valley Animal Hospital. I live in KCMO, but choose to drive 35 minutes to bring my kitten to Dr. Gardner. She is very caring, explains what she's doing and answers all my questions. The entire staff is helpful and polite! Also, I found their website to be the most helpful in comparison to many others in the metro area.

Dr. Mary Gardner was the perfect balance of professional and caring. Knowledgeable and understanding. It was tough to put down our sick dog down but she came to our house so our dog didn't have to travel and they even sent flowers the next day. She will now be our go to vet for our other dog. We cannot recommend her enough. Thank you Dr. Gardner and the wonderful staff.

Dr. Brad and her dog sister Maisy saved our 15 year old dog Josie's life. Dr. Brad diagnosed Josie with an ulcer and she had lost lots of blood because of bad information I got from another vet office. He preformed a transfusion using 1year old Maisies blood and Josie is good as new. Well as good as a 15 year old mixed breed can be. The staff is great. Maisy is so excited to go to doggy day care and the price is the best I have found.
