We took Corky in for a wellness check up, shots and grooming. The Doctor was gentle and thorough in his examination,  explaining his assessment along the way. He also made suggestions for changes to her diet (my wife can't resist giving her treats and a little too much food) and overall care.  We then had her groomed to remove her winter coat, got her nails done and all the primping necessary to show off her beach body. My husband and I couldn't be more pleased with the customer service and care we've received at College Boulevard Animal Hospital over the past 4 years! Dr. Schroeder is thorough, informative and empathetic. He's performed multiple surgeries on our 9 year old German shorthaired pointer, removing both malignant and benign tumors. I feel at ease every time after dropping her off. His team is great about notifying us as soon as surgery is over, and we always receive timely and informative follow ups from Dr. Shroeder. We are so thankful to have found Dr. Fred Schroeder at College Boulevard Animal Hospital. He is incredibly personable, smart, caring and has helped us tremendously with 13 year old lab, Molly. Our dog recently went deaf and her behavior had changed drastically. Interested in a second opinion, a friend referred us to Dr. Schroeder and he has worked with us on a weekly basis by checking her ears and flushing her ears. We were extremely concerned and he explained that her unusual behavior was related to her sudden loss of hearing. Dr. Schroeder was able to properly diagnose and treat out dog and we are beyond thrilled. While her hearing is minimal at best, she is starting to act like herself again. This bunch of wonderful and talented animal lovers will be the only people that ever take care of my four-legged children. I was boarding my dog I was out of town visiting with my grandfather. My dog had been sick a few months prior and was on medication. When my dog took a turn for the worse while I was still out of town I knew that this special bunch of people give my animal, my child the love that I have for him. They held him when I could not and they talked with him when I could not. The service that they gave to me and my loved dog is priceless in my heart. And I know they care for my animal as much as I did. So wonderful and so caring, these unique people will always hold a special place in my heart. Seriously amazing! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I brought my pup, Louie (an almost 9 year old boxer/dalmatian mix), to College Boulevard Animal Hospital for a second ACL repair surgery after a vet at another office totally screwed it up the first time, and I couldn't be happier with my decision to bring him here! Literally EVERYONE at this office is amazing. They know and remember Louie every time we come in, and they're all so happy to see the progress he's making. Louie is my baby, so getting the best care possible for him is SO important. I can say with 100% certainty that I trust these people with my baby! Dr Pippin is the absolute best. This is where my friend takes her dogs for veterinary care, and so, I took my dog here to be boarded for 1 night. They were friendly, set the reservation and arranged to get vaccination info. from my vet in Lawrence over the phone, and drop-off, including paperwork, took no more than 2 minutes. Boarding for 1 night with tax came out to $23 and change. Read Less

We have been taking our cats and dog here for a little over a year and fortunately having healthy animals we haven't had a "relationship" with the vet until recently when our precious Basset boy became very ill.  Dr Fred Schroeder is absolutely the best ever....hands down.  Rocky became terminally ill in a short amount of time and the compassionate care we received from both Dr. Fred and Dr. Carole and their amazing staff helped our family through a tough experience.  Upon losing Rocky, we received a sympathy card in a matter of days followed by a letter from KState that Dr. Schroeder had made a donation in Rocky's memory.  This is above and beyond care for pets and families.  I can't say enough good things about this business and I've already recommended any animal lover I  visit with to consider this office. I took my puppy Daisy to this place to get her checked out and ensure everything was up to date before boarding her for a couple days.  The people were very, very nice and got me in the same day I called in.  The vet was friendly with Daisy and I, and seemed to be perfectly capable and knowledgeable when I bombarded him with my various questions.  He answered them all!  Even though my dog is slightly chubby, they didn't hold that against her, or me for that matter.My only complaint with this location is that they ASSAULTED my inbox with email after I left the building.  I got about five emails over the next two days about various items of no importance.  This really was annoying, but doesn't change the fact that this animal hospital is run by great folks.  I'll definitely take my lil pup there again. This is a great business with capable, caring veterinarians and staff.  We've now taken 4 different dogs to them through about 20 years and could not dream up a single complaint if we tried to work at it.  I've never had a problem getting an appointment or in having a dog seen immediately with a health problem.  Pricing has always seemed reasonable and fully explained.  We've always had good luck with overall healthy dogs, but we recently lost our beloved golden retriever unexpectedly after a short neurological illness treated by the vet emergency hospital doctors.  Dr. Modrcin (who is normally our vet, but both are great) and the College Boulevard Animal Hospital's staff handled everything for us, and their compassion and kindness were incredible and very much appreciated.  I would highly recommend this business to anyone!
